Solve : Windows XP/SuSe 9.3 bootloader issue?

Answer»

I have Windows XP Pro (SP2) and SuSe 9.3 Pro installed on my computer. The bootloader I'm USING is GRUB. When I TRY to START SuSe nowadays it won't start up correctly and I barely have use for it right now, so I was thinking of formatting the Linux partition on my comp with Partition Magic in Windows. The thing is that if I do that I will lose the boot "section" for XP. How do I recover that afterwards so that I can use XP?
Use your XP install DISC and enter the recovery console.
type fixmbr and hit enter.
This will REINSTALL the XP bootloader, overwriting GRUB.
If your primary partition is FAT formatted you will need to use the fixboot command before fixmbr.
