I am hopeing that someone can assist me in my PROBLEM. I have a Toshiba Satellite 2545CDS/2545XCDT. I relize that this is am old and none exiting computer, but I like my laptop and wish to keep it. anyway, what I am trying to say is I have lost all books that came with my computer,including my codes for installing my win98 program, once I have formatted my hard drive. I am in the PROCESS on re-installing my windows programs with my Toshiba Cd,but I do not have the codes for Win98. I do not know if anyone knows what I am talking about, But I hope that someone that is running a Win98 program can assist me in some way.

By your post I'm assuming you still have the Product License Key and have INSTALLED Win98 again It sounds like you don't have the license key for windows 98. This key code is needed to verify that you have a legitimate copy of the software. First, try looking for a Windows sticker on the computer itself. This will have the product key on it. Otherwise try contacting the place where you got your computer and sometimes they have that information on file. I had to do this once with an old gateway we had.

and download the manual this is a zipped file which contains three floppy drive they have to be copied to floppys then put in the laptop drive when BOOTING the hidden partition will be installed on the  drive, that is if you have not formatted it all away you can contact Toshiba and after giving them all the details and serial numbers of the laptop they may have the correct windows 98 registration keys in their records.

FIND.EXE/I "ProductKey" %winbootdir%\SYSTEM.DAT

If you have formatted, you won't be able to recover the product key.
