Wiping it USUALLY requires a separate PROGRAM and will render all the info. on your HDD unretrievable. Reformat, on the other hand simply prepares the HDD for the INSTALLATION of other programs. The info. is usually recoverable with special programs. Usually people only wipe a HDD when they are donating or selling the HDD or computer. if you want to sell the hdd and want to WIPE ALL THE DATA without POSSIBILITY for recovery by the next owner, better use this one. |
