Answer» Hey i was trying to put music into the windows movie maker and im getting it off a cd, and when i try to upload it in there i get this error
The file C:\Documents and Settings\William\My Documents\Track06.cda is not a supported file type, and it cannot be imported into Windows Movie Maker.
I was wondering if i could change the cda to something diffrent so it would work any help would be great thanks.
crap i put wmp sorry about thatGo to this site http://www.audiotool.net/download.htm and download ease audio converter, its a trial version but can convert any audio file type to any audio file type.the .cda file is only a shortcut to the LOCATION of the music file on the DISK. dont bother trying to convert the .cda files to mp3 or wav files as the music files are usually already wav files.
use a cd ripping tool to convert the music files on your cd to wav files on your hard drive. then try putting them inot movie maker.
cdex is a freeware utility that can do this job well but perhaps not as fast as some of the others that ARNT free. just google cdex to find itWindows Movie maker supports the following audio files:
.wav, .aif, .aiff, .aifc, .SND, .mp3
Make sure your audio file is converted to one of these file formats and use the "Import audio or music" menu link WITHIN Windows Movie Maker.
