Answer» Hi, I have tried many solutions to this prob and so far nothing has worked. I tried DEL the DRM folder contents, I tried my ports on my router, turned off firewall. this is a fresh COPY of windows xp prof. about 2 weeks old. Before i reformatted it worked. after reformat nothing. This is the error i get in Event Log A NEW media server was not initialized because RegisterRunningDevice() encountered error '0x80040500'. I have tried restarting my PC and service everything. I know this isnt a prob with my 360 its a Windows prob. Please can someone help me with this prob, i have been searching online for hours. Just reinstalled WMP 11 and now it has no prob starting and STAYING started... strange... anyways can close.
