Solve : Wndos 7 TEMP file-can erase?? |
|
Answer» My new windows 7 has a TEMP FILE that is filling up. Is this the same TEMP file that was in my Windows 98 and that I can PERIODICALLY ERASE everything that's in it???temp file or temp folder? If it's the temp folder then yes, everything in it can be deleted. The only exception is if you install a new program, MAKE sure you reboot before deleting anything in the temp folder (some programs place files in the temp folder that are required to complete the installation at the next boot).sorry my error....yes, I meant FOLDER. Thank you for your responseIn Windows 7, if you open your TEMP folder in Windows Explorer and highlight everything and choose to delete, either by using the right-click menu or by pressing the keyboard Delete key, if the delete process finds any files which are in use by a program or by Windows, then you will GET a dialog informing you of this. It is usually safe to delete files or folders with a modified date previous to today, and you can see which these are by selecting Details view in Windows Explorer and ORDERING items by date/time. |
