Answer» My Internet connection will not let me do a word search. I am using IE8, WIN XP with Qwest and MSN high speed. It will connect and my browser shows but no word search. HELP jethroI ASSUME you are talking about the 'Search Providers Bar' normally located at the top-right of IE8 which you can quickly type searchs into your favourite search engine(s) rather than going to them from the ADDRESS URL bar, for example 'www.google.com'.
In IE8...
Go to Tools and select Manage Add-ons.
Then select Search providers.
There should be a list of providers, select your favourite ONE, for example 'Google' and CLICK 'Set as Default'.
If you don't see a list or your favour, click 'Find more search providers' which will open a webpage, click 'Add to Internet Explorer' on the one(s) you want and accept.
Tryied that and added Google and Yahoo, made yahoo default. still will not sow in window and still will not let me do word search in WEB search.Get Firefox. Sorry, I don't have an answer re: IE."word search in web search"? What does this mean?
