Hey so I have a Compaq EVO 1920v laptop and a Wireless G Notebook ADAPTER Card (model number- WPC54G).  I installed with the cd rom following the exact instructions it gave me.  when it told me to insert the card into the PCMCIA port, I did and my computer froze. It wouldnt even work if I UNPLUGGED the card.  I proceeded to remove the card and do a force shut down by holding the power button.  I then stuck the card back in and let it boot with the card in but it wont boot if the cards in.  It will however boot just fine if the card is out.  No whenever I stick the card in, it freezes.  I have already tried updating the drivers and checking for ghost drivers in safe mode.  Everything looks fine.  There are no ? or x's in the device manager screen yet when i plug the card in the computer completely freezes.  please help, i need wireless.If you know anyone else with a laptop that has a pcmcia slot, I would try sticking it into their laptop and see if it yields the same results.  If it does the same thing, you probably have a bad unit.  If it doesn't...well, that'll make the troubleshooting steps a BIT different.  I have seen a bad WLAN cause freezes and BSOD's MANY times so that would be my first suspect.
