I have an old box PC running xp pro sp3 with a biostar m7ncg400 motherboard an amd cpu and a 1 gig diamond max hard drive it also has xp home on it.The guy I got it from said he loaded XP pro after XP Home crashed...Now.it stopped loading windows xp pro..it kept saying " there is a problem windows didn't start correctly" then the start options I tried to start in safe mode to no avail...soooo... I put in an OEM disk of windows XP pro and booted from cd rom.thinking I would load recovery console..then i got a msg, saying this computer is already in the process of being up graded...It gave me 3 options.... To continue with upgrade ..To cancel upgrade and start again, or To exit and do nothing I chose to cancel and start over ,,,Set up started to copy FILES however it has been examining 197449 MB disc 0 at id 0 bus 0 for about 3 hrs now.... any suggestions ? by the way it was working great for months before thisjust checking, you TRYING to fix someone else's computer or is this computer in question yours now?its mine ,,I'm slowly taking a pc repair course and I bought a couple of cheap used ones to MESS around with ..but i never saw this before ...
