Solve : XP Desktop opens W/pointer but cannot open any files?

1.	Solve : XP Desktop opens W/pointer but cannot open any files?
Answer» I have a Dell XP SP2 comp about 1.5 years old. When I start the Comp it opens up the full desktop with the ARROW. I can move the arrow all around the desktop but when I LEFT click the progarams or files they will not open. The Start button on the bottom also does not open. The Microsoft Flag Flag on the bottom left of the keyboard also does not open anything. When I start the comp in the Safe Mode I can open all the programs. I can DRAG the files from my programs (quick BOOKS, excell or word) to a memory stick. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for your time rjbrjbIs it a recent event? Did you try System Restore?i just got it working. i plugged another mouse in a different usb port and it MUST have replaced the mouse drive as both of them are working now. thanks for your time. rjbrjbNice self-help
