Answer» Hi All!!!...
My PC is having a problem of boot up.....When i turn on,first WINDOWS SCREEN appears, then a blue screen blinks, then hp screen, then a blank page with cursor on the top left, then a screen with the message"we apologise for the inconvinience but Windows did not start successfully.there was a hardware or software problem.............."
I tried to run it in Safe mode, Windows normally, last known configuration but no luck......Then someone suggested to Get into the Recovery Console by making a Recovery CD with ISO image but the machine is not responding to any of it......Iam really frustrated and want to find out whats the problem??.....Is it with CD/DVD ROM drive??? I ran a self hard drive TEST,it seems fine...Help wud be highly apreciated Do you have Windows XP CD?No i dont have but i tried with my frnds back up cd...didnt work.....What EXACTLY didn't work? You know, this is not 20 questions game...As i hav mentioned earlier i dont hav XP cd and i tried my frnds XP cd.....that didnt work....also i had made a boot disk which didnt work as well.....infact the machine is not responding to any of the cds....which part didnt u understand???I dont think you understand where bronis coming from , the XP disc can only really be used for two main things , to recover xp from a bad error or to format your harddrive and install a fresh copy , it looks as if you have a poorly maintained computer for this sort of thing to happen , either that or your hardware has come to a hault which i doubt as your computer wouldn't turn on let alone boot into windows. So what you need to do is get yourself down a shop and buy a copy of xp , and install that copy onto your hd .
GoodLuck.

I assume, it doesn't want to boot from CD, right? Did you check boot order in BIOS?Have you tried USING a bare-bones system..... keyboard, mouse and monitor only?
make sure that is all that are connected.Thnx T-Rex for that idea.....but i think my CD/DVD Drive has gone bad.....coz i took it to Best Buy and they too tried some cds and my laptop did not read it......its just goin in circles....restartin and gets stuck with that message screen.....Broni...i did check whether CD/DVD Drive is setas first boot device in the BIOS Set up and it is first in the boot order.....my CD/DVD Drive is not reading any of the cds....It is not asking to boot from cd.....no prompt appears wen i try 2 run the boot diskWell, I guess, you'll have to start with getting NEW CD drive.
