Solve : Xp Home to Pro = No sound?

Answer»

I've updated from xp home to xp pro but now i've got no sound. I went to add new hardware and it said:

Aztech2320 compatible PnP Audio
This devide cannot start (Code 10)

Is this why the sound isn't working? How do i get sound? Thanks

According to Microsoft, you need to update the drivers for the sound card:

Do you know how to do this?

DocI spent ages looking for those codes! Cheers.

Yeah i know how to do it but cant find an upto date driver for it. Where can i get a driver for it? Grant:

One of these links might have what you need:

http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLD,GGLD:2004-51,GGLD:en&q=Aztech+2320+site%3Aaztech%2Ecom

God bless,
Doc
Thanks for the link but still cant get one that works.

Also on sounds and audio devices properties it says there is no audio device??
Type DXDIAG in the run box......this will show you what sound you have.......the driversall website has sound drivers......

maybe you need to install a new sound card......fussy stuff winxp pro.....

Type hcl list in a net search engine......to find out if your old sound card is approved.........by bgates......conman of the world....In the dxdiag the name is Modem #0 Line Playback. But the id and the drivers fields are empty.
I couldnt see if it was approved by BIG bill or not??That sounds like a wave device for your modem, not your actual sound card.
This link will take you to their downloads page just go to the sound card section for your model.

To be sure DLoad and run Belarc advisor and it will tell you which one you have.

Make sure you remove the device first in control panel then re-boot and point to the driver dload when Windows asks...

patio. Make sure that your sound card is properly seated. When mine fell out of the mainboard, after a move, it gave the same symptoms.

Here is a quick way to find DRIVERSXP PRO DEVICE MANAGER ERROR CODESPatio- it says Aztech 2320 Compatible PnP Audio (WDM) is installed but there is not a choice to download that on the aztech website.
My computer hasnt moved at all so can see the sound card coming out of place. Is that an old MACHINE or have you just added a new card? I didn't know Aztech still made equipment, but theyy were used in the past on HP's and Packard Bell (a long time ago). If this is the case there may be no current driver for it. Is it a PCI or an ISA board? (Sorry, you may have to open that case aftere all. Sometimes THINGS get fouled, but there may be a BIGGER issue.)
