Solve : XP Home will not Boot?

Answer»

Do a search on Ebay for "pci ps/2 card", they are $15-20, they might also be in your local large computer store. Thanks Kando --- Do you think it will make any difference.

I am BEGINING to think that the processor is bad.The card should allow you to boot up with a ps/2 KEYBOARD and then you can run more diagnostics including checking out the processor. Thanks again.
Hi Kando,

While looking for a ps2 card i ran across someone who said that in order to do this you WOULD have to go into the bios and make some changes.

I can't get to the bios.

I wouldn't think you need to do anything in bios. Try it - the worst that happens is that it doesn't work.No changes are neccessary initially...and it's way cheaper than assuming it's the CPU.UPDATE ...

Kando Thanks for the suggestion on installing a ps/2 port. I ordered the card and installed it, but it still hangs in the same spot.

I am seriously thinking it is the processor. There is a HUGH Heat sink on this sucker with plumbing and all. I started it up and let it run a while and the heat sink barley gets warm. I can put my fingers on the processor and it is also just warm. With a heat sink like that i would think it puts out some serious heat.

Thanks to everyone for their SUGGESTIONS and guiding me in my search for the problem.
