Answer» }{'lo everyone!
I need a little help. I installed windows XP recently and, though I have done it before, this time I did something a little differant.
I Partioned my disk while INSTALLING XP to setup and format just 10 gigs of my hdd (in NTFS) for the operating system and then figured I'd come in later after installing windows with a program called swiss knife and partion the rest. However Swiss knife doesn't want to partition the drive due to the fact that it has windows xp on it .
And so I am in need of some assistance. In a post by MAC he said that you can "...USE XP's Disk Management to make an Extended partition in the remaining unallocated space and put up to three Logical PARTITIONS within the Extended partition."
unfortunatly he left out how exactly to do that . Where is this magical little tool that I so greatly desire per chance? And is there anything I should know before using it? Oh and yes it sounds like I'm limited to only three extended partitons? I was KINDA hoping for four actually. Is there a program that will alow me to partion it into four peices? (and is preferably free and run from inside windows)
Many thanks!Right clik My Computer...select MANAGE and go to Disk Management. All the tools you need you will find there.
