Answer» My tale of WOE........ I have Dell XPS, and recently bought a new WD hd from dell, downloaded the intel raid driver again from dell, saved it to a floppy. Run setup to install xp on new hd, hit f6 install the raid driver...I then get an error that the iaStor.sys could not install error 4107 at line 2108 in d:\xpsp1\base\boot\setup\oemdisk.c
My bios does not seem to have a autodetect/raid or anything else. All I can find is SATA on/off..... The only info I can find about the iaStor.sys file is virus related, but with a new hd that seems out.
Dell is completely useless on this matter, it seems they have their MONEY and screw our 6 year customer. I would get a new computer and throw this POS through the nearest Dell Store front window, unfortunately I am not in a financial position to do so.....
Please help! 1. Dell Dimension XPS ___ (fill in the blank) 2. Do you have 1 new WD hard drive to replace the old hard drive or are you attempting to add the new one to create RAID?
