Solve : XP Installation Issue!!!!!?

Answer»

Hello everybody, I have an Issue installing the Windows XP Professional SP2 OS on my new PC. It has installed by default Windows Vista Home, but I would like to install Windows XP.

The point is that my PC (Packard Bell Imedia D7221) comes with a new featured devices for me:

- USB SCSI Hard Drive
- USB SCSI DVD-ROM

I don't know why, but the boot XP boot loader starts PERFECTLY until it finish, because it shows me the old fashioned Windows BLUE Screen and don't start the OS installation menu.

Please I need your help!!!

Best Regards!!are you SAYING that you're trying to dual boot vista and xp?

or do you want to replace vista with xp?

either way, i think it would be good if you explained how you went about installing xp.Well, I'm trying to install WXP with Vista, everyone in one partition. The point is that the WXP installation menu doesn't start.

I think is a compatibility stuff between WXP and the HDD.

I've been read in other web sites and the solution is to get a fixed XP installation including the OAS SCSI USB drivers.

But I'm still in troubleQuote

Well, I'm trying to install WXP with Vista, everyone in one partition.

woah woah woah. bad move. two OSs should be installed in two separate partitions.

that is probrably what went wrong. (i'm assuming you've already installed xp and vista on the same partition as you say you've seen the windows xp bootloader).

vista still installed?

use vista repair disc to repair install vista, then boot from that. then remove xp. then re-install xp on a different partition. No, I'm installing it in different partitions. I need the HDD drivers for the mainboard and LOAD it from the WXP installation (When the installer interface shows the press F6 option)

Before many tests I've been found that WXP don't have the specific drivers for the HDD, that's why I receive the famous blue screen, I have to load the HDD drivers from a diskette, and it install successfullyyou mean like raid/ide drivers?XP won't have the drivers...you need to get them from the MBoard manuf. website.Solved.

The Packard Bell iMedia D7221 XP drivers could be found following this link:

It works!

Thanks for your Help!!

Best Regards!!glad to have helped.
