Answer» How can I tell if my copy of Win XP is a bootable copy? This COMPUTER was put together at a computer shop and I was given a disk with XP/ SP1 OPERATING system on it. Have since ADDED SP/2 to the computer. The shop is out of business, can't ask them.set your bios to boot off the CDROM drive and try to boot off the CD. Don't worry, it won't run amok and FORMAT your hard drive. Thanks, I'll give it a try.it should work as a bootable cd
