Solve : XP OS Disc's?

Answer»

I BOUGHT computer without Operating System Disks. How do I copy OS to
removable disc's for re-installation and Back up?

More details on what you want to accomplish here are NEEDED but generally you cannot simply copy an OS and get it to boot....Cant you drag them on too the thumb drive in windows? Quote from: plra20 on February 04, 2009, 12:07:05 PM

Most manufacturers have a backup so you can reinstall to like it was from factory when you first got it. The backup is on your hard drive.

You need to read the owners manual to find out how to make a one time set of disks for future reinstall.

I don't have an answer. Just a few more questions.

1) XP has a backup program. Does the backup program save everthing we might need in the future? The backup program comes with XP pro but can be installed for XP Home?

2) Will Microsoft send us a copy to the XP OS installation disk?

3) Will the seller or the manufacturer send us a copy of the XP OS disk?

4) Can we make copies of the XP OS from hidden files on the hard Disk? ( or is this similar to a backup? )

5) If we have XP Home, may we upgrade to XP Pro? How much is the Disk?

Why are you hijacking pira's thread ? ?
Patio,

I was not aware of a highjack?

I will delete the POST and go elsewhere. Or feel free to delete the post.

Thanks for you help.plra:

You might consider Norton Ghost or something similar to make an image of EVERYTHING on the computer. You can then restore the image if necessary.
