Answer» XP pro Logon: Mouse and Keyboard freeze up. Mouse cursor moves OK until the first keystroke in Log On Password box. Both keyboard and PS/2 mouse freeze up. No joy in Safe Mode and no error messages. Until RECENTLY I was able to load without a password but now there is the User-name of the previous owner. I did get to A:\ DOS prompt but could not change drive to D:\ or C:\. PLEASE advise. I have loaded 5 out of 6 XP Startup floppies. #6 has error message 'Unmountable_boot_volume. I do have an original Windows XP pro disk but it was not bought with this computer. I have changed the BIOS settings to force a boot from this CD but it only GETS me back to the Log on page again. Your help will be much appreciated....You can get into safe mode and it work?
