Solve : XP Pro Max RAM?

Answer»

I just installed a new motherboard & Processor 2.41 GHz, AMD 64 Processor with max RAM 4 GB. I installed 4 GB of RAM but it only recognizes 3 GB of RAM. The OS I’m using is WINDOWS XP Pro 32 bit, I have TRIED XP Pro 64 bit and don’t care for it because many of my programs will not WORK with 64 bit and there are no updates, but it recognize 4 GB of RAM. Can you HELP?For XP Pro, and other 32-bit OS's, you can only use 2GB for applications. 2^32 = 4,294,967,296 Half those bytes are for the OS kernel, and the other half are for your applications (2GB/2GB). You can shift it into a 3GB/1GB by EDITING your boot.ini file so your apps will have more RAM to use, but your windows can become buggy and it's really not recommended.
