Solve : XP pro self restarts during bootup? |
|
Answer» OK so i have a little problem, my windows xp pro is restarting during bootup (hence the title) what happens is the bios load then it shoots to the "windows xp pro" loading screen with the fun little bar with little blue rectangles that go across it then after about 2 or so minutes the computer restarts, bios show, then the safe mode/last good config/normal boot options apear. i choose normal all the time and it starts fine, i chose last known good config once and i have no idea what the *censored* to do in safe mode with it. i do not want to reinstall xp as i did this 2 weeks ago because of the same problem (it started OCCURING again 3 days after i reinstalled it) i have no spywear i just cleared it out yesterday w/ spybot i have no virus checked yesterday through avg free i have comodo firewall pro up PLEASE help me with this, its extremely annoying (it isnt effecting any of my programs though just looooooong 5 min bootup) and i want it gone. thanks yoWhat hardware do you have? When it goes to Windows, does it stay there, or it keeps restarting?the second time it goes to windows after i choose normal mode it boots normally and goes to the welcome screen where i log in ...and you can use Windows normally?yesWill it boot normally into Safe Mode? (keep tapping F8 key after computer starts)yesIf you have separate video card, try to re-seat it. Clean connectors with eraser. Restart in normal mode. If it doesn't help, try to borrow video card from a friend. Update video drivers.fixed it, i used the "system restore" thing and put it to the day before it started and now it starts normally again (yay!) ill post again if i get the same problem |
