i was surfing on the net (bird-x.com if i am not wrong to be exact) using the firefox when the browser stop responding..and the comp freezes
restarted the comp n tried to open the firefox again..
as usual a "start new session" / "go back to last session"(cant rem the exact phrase) pop up...
when i tried to go back to last session the comp hang again
i tried startin a new session but the same thing happen

i have since ran AVG anti virus scan that cant complete(comp restarts by itself be4 the scan could finish)
and ad adware + spybot which found nothing malicious..
also tried kaspersky online and again comp restarts be4 it could finish
also tried deleting firefox but doesnt work...

i am running on win xp sp 2
my update runs on auto so it shldnt be too outdated

thanks alot for the help Can you try starting Firefox in Safe Mode?
^^
hey
thanks for the fast reply~!!!
just tried
similar thing happened...
firefox just hanged out the whole comp making every other prog useless Have you tried other browsers?

my ie is working..
so if my safari(although i never ever used that)
was wondering if its more than a firefox prob
coz i cant seem to even complete my virus scan..
haven exactly set a timing yet but it does seemed like the comp will restart by itself after runnin 4 some timeTry to uninstall firefox and then reinstall it. if that doesn´t do the trick, just post back..hey
sorry i have haved missed this out
i had alr tried yr method

suprisingly the same pop-up remains..
something to do with e cookies?Try to delete or clear your private data in firefox. Also check out Edit menu then go to preference. Click on the contents tab and check the ¨block pop up windows¨ box. Quote

I suggest downloading CCleaner and clean up Mozilla Firefox and the Registry (go over the registry a couple times).
In the cleaner, Uncheck everything except Mozilla Firefox Browser Cache and Cookies. You MAY want to visit our Virus and Spyware section and follow the instructions for posting your logs at the TOP of the page...start computer in safe mode, then run your AVG to let it completely scan.i tried running ccleaner and the comp hanged again when i tried to clean firefox under application
was goin thru temp files when the ccleaner took really long to "clean" a particular file(which was part of firefox)
i have left the comp on overnight (abt 5 HRS) it was still at the same file

guess i will try postin under virus n spyware section
thanks alot 4 e helpYou could try it in Safe Mode but it wont hurt to post in the Virus and Spyware section.
