Hi, my sytems mother board needs to be replaced. Can I still use the Operating system CD that came along with the restores CDs of the system to reinstall the operating system? its a Compaq PCOnly if the board is identical...otherwise the drivers will be different. There are 2 methods i have used successfully...but i must ask first: What is your level of expertise computer wise ? ?I can say good. Before the Fact After the Fact Good Luck and let us know... Backups are a must in both CASES.... P.S. You will need an XP CD that matches your installed version and Service Packs. I.E. Windows XPPro with SP2 needs an XP CD with XP2. An OEM CD which is what you have will not work. |
