Solve : xp says my network adapter is unplugged? |
|
Answer» thank you to anyone who replies to this. my dell with xp says the cable for the NEW network card is unplugged, EVEN though it is not. the computer seems to have a built in net card, as i did not pull an old one out when i put this new one in. xp seemed to have the drivers for the card, it see's it as being there, it just says the cord is not plugged in. any ideas would be very helpfull. thank you. What happens if you plug the cord into the onboard NIC? If you disable the onboard in BIOS, the other may work, assuming the drivers are loaded. What shows in Device Manager? This is a desktop? What model? What did you ADD? Why did you add it if there was an onboard NIC? |
