Answer» hello
xp home sp 2 and all normal safety updates this month on 3 or more occasions when I start up my computer the message " windows has repaired itself from a serious fault" comes up
signature Bccode 1000000e Bcp1 BA1OF202 Bcp2 00000000 BCP3 BA10F202 Bcp4 00000000 OSVer 5_1_2600 SP 2_0 Product 768_1 further : C\docum~1\Eigenaar\Locals~1\Temp\WER1cOc.dir.00\mini082907-01.dmp C\docum~1\Eigenaar\Locals~1\Temp\WER1c0c dir.o0\sysdate.xml
the numbers can vary and are not never the same but the structure is.
on one occasion while I was using the PC it just closed down and restarted with the above mentionned message. I WORK mostly in documents- photo elements- BANKING- internet IE7 and outlook express e mail I have an extra disk Lacie for back up and use a usb stick to transfer documents to another PC.
I do use CCcleaner and Ashampoo Win Optimizer 2008 and once a month the Windows life one care scan Is there anybody who can perhaps tell me why this occurs and what could be the cause.
Thank you for your time daniel I would just remove the offending 'tmp' files causing the problem (only in cases like this of course). I have had corrupted temporary internet folder contents before, and used to see a windows error 'balloon' warning me of this. Deleting the folder usually cured the problem.
Tony What I would recommend is if you right click on my computer and go into properties, then the advanced tab you will see a section called startup and recovery. Click the settings button. In there about half way down you will see a section called system failure. In that section MAKE SURE that the automatically restart check box is unchecked. I hope that helps with your problem. What is in the Eigenaar directory ? ? Is this a PROGRAM or a personal folder ? ? An interrupted install of a program will exhibit these symptoms...hello Eigenaar means owner
Monday the same problem again namely: while I was in I-tunes the computer cuts off and restarts after that the message "windows repaired a serious fault etc...."
Tuesday : after shutdown the computer restarts and again the message already mentionned above.
I was busy in my documents and copy documents to another computer via a usb stick SanDisk 2.0 GB wich is connected to a usb hub Belkin.
I start to wonder if the USB stick could be the cause or the USB hub Each time the fault occurs I try to see what I was doing and perhaps a solution might occur. Everybody thank you for your advice daniel
