Solve : XP sound problem?

Answer»

The sound's too low on my computer (WINDOWS XP Professional /Toshiba laptop)Re-install the sound drivers...
Try moving the balance around, it could be one of your speakes isnt working and the computer is still trying to spread the sound to the 2 speakers.

I don't know how to do that, I guess a technician could.

Thanks. I tried but it didn't work Boot into Safe Mode (tap the F8 key when you boot) \ go into DEVICE Manager (it's in Control Panel) / click on the + next to Sound & uninstall all the drivers / reboot. Windows should reinstall the drivers. Make sure you have your Windows CD handy, as well as the cd for the sound card (be it built on the motherboard or in a PCI slot) just in CASE

Alan <>< What were you doing prior to this happening?
