Solve : XP Startup disk?? |
|
Answer» I installed XP over 98se and have never had a problem until today. I downloaded a driver for an Olympus cardreader. The reader was for 98 so I went to their website and downloaded a driver they said was compatable for XP. Boy were the wrong. I used the computer yesterday and it WORKED fine and today when I booted up I get the following ERRORS: Windows has detected registry/configuration errors. The following files are missing or corrupt: c :\ himem.sys , c:\dblbuff.sys and c:\ ifshlp It is trying to BOOT in DOS because it takes me to the 98 bootscreen and SAYS to restart in command prompt only and run scanreg. It wont let me do that either because it says that it cannot run in DOS after I use the 98 startup disk to run regedit. Will a XP bootdisk help? If so where can I get one? Any help would be appreciated,. ThanksIf I'm right, the bootdisk is the one that you used to install XP... (The full EDITION) |
