Solve : uninstall programs? |
Answer»

Using control panel and uninstall programs I see all my programs listed but when I highlight the ONE I want to uninstall there is no uninstall icon to click on. This just started a couple days ago. I tried to run a system restore from a few days ago but it says it can't restore from that date. Any suggestions? What OS are you using XP, Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8?Is it just one program or is it all programs? Are you logged on as administrator? No uninstall button on any of the programs. I am signed in as administrator and I'm using XP You may have to do this one application at a time. Before modifying the registry, be sure to create a backup the registry using one of these methods:

1) Click on START - RUN and type: Regedit (press ENTER). On the menu bar click on file, then export, choose where you want to save it, then enter a name for it in the box titled: File Name. At bottom put a tick in "All", then click on save. If you ever want to restore the saved version, just IMPORT it.

2) System Restore (it should save a copy daily, but you can always create a restore point manually.

3) The best method, in my opinion, is to DOWNLOAD and run ERUNT. It's the best registry backup utility available - and it's free!!!

Okay, now to FIX the problem:

Start - Run - Regedit

Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE \Microsoft \Windows \CurrentVersion \Uninstall \
In the right-pane: Double-click NoRemove (REG_DWORD) and set it to 0
Backup the Registry with ERUNT

•Download ERUNT
•Click on the erunt-setup.exe
•Follow the prompts to install ERUNT
•Choose language
•A set up WINDOW will pop up. It will ask: Create ERUNT entry in to the Start up folder, answer NO

•Backup your registry to the default location

Note: To restore your registry (if NEEDED), go to the folder and start ERDNT.exe

| |
