Solve : Updating to Windows 8.1, could not install 0x1900101-0x30018? |
| Answer» <html><body><p>Hey guys, so I have been trying to update to Windows 8.<a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/1-236780" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about 1">1</a> since it was <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/released-613817" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about RELEASED">RELEASED</a> today but I am getting the following generic error:<br/><br/>Code: <a>[Select]</a>Windows 8.1 could not install 0x1900101-0x30018<br/>I have been searching the Google using the error code above, but I don't get any real solid answers, most of the issues that I found are dealing with the Windows 8.1 preview rather than the actual update itself. Thanks for the help.It seems this update is not going very smoothly judging by all the Help Forum posts i've seen...<br/>2 reasins are most likely the MS servers are swamped...and they rushed out this code before it was refined.<br/><br/>I'd wait at least a week and try again...unless your system is crippled right now...<br/>Best of Luck.So I haven't tried updating to Windows 8.1, because it got lost in my things to do until I tried again until today. I receive the same error code. This time I sat through the installation and everything was going smoothly until there was an error screen that popped up that stated "Sorry couldn't complete the installation...ERROR: Driver is not EQUAL TO" or something like that. I don't even use the Intel graphics because I have a dedicated video card. But in Windows Update there seems to be a update for "Intel Corporation Graphics Adater WDDM1.2, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.3 Sofware Update - Inter(R) HD Graphics 4000". I'm hoping this update will fix the issue. I keep you guys updated.I tried updating to Windows 8.1 again and it got to the 80% of "Getting Devices" ready part when this I got a Blue Screen with an "driver_irql_not_less_or_equal (iaStorA.sys)" error, which is attached to this post. Should I download and install those updated drivers first? Or should I try re-installing old Windows 8 Drivers from the Asus CD?Well I can't install the 8.1 drivers because I get can't support this Operating System error.So I downloaded and installed the chipset drivers for my ASUS Sabertooth Z77 motherboard for Windows 8, and tried updating to Windows 8.1 again. I got the same BSOD during "getting devices ready 80%" part but this time the BSOD error is, "DRIVER_OVERRAN_STACK_BUFFER". But when I tried to install the driver via the executable it refused to install giving me the error "This computer does not meet the minimum requirement for installing the software." I'm pretty sure I do not have another PCIe card that would confuse my system and since I have the dedicated Asus video card it should be the Intel Onboard Graphics should be disabled, correct? Which would <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/make-249948" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about MAKE">MAKE</a> sense why the Intel driver executable is couldn't find it, but then why is the Windows 8.1 Update getting hung up about it?
