Solve : Vista Home unresponsive taskbar!! HELP?

Answer»

Im having a problem with windows vista home edition. When it loads up the desktop the taskbar is unresponsive and I can't click on anything there. I can still click on icons on the desktop but if I try to execute it, nothing will happen. Also the gadgets don't seem to load up. I really need HELP because this happens way too much and I have to restart my laptop more than once sometimes to get it to WORK.
Did it just start happening? Any recent hardware/software changes? What happens in Safe Mode? Did you try System Restore? Does Start button work? It's a brand new laptop that CAME with vista installed on it. I don't know if it has anything to do with the Etrust SECURITY suite/Ca security suite. In safe mode it works. The start button will work for the first minute or so but it won't execute anything. Quote

The start button will work for the first minute or so
In Safe, or Normal Mode?
Sorry meant to say normal. Safe mode works fine.Quote
Did it just start happening? Any recent hardware/software changes?
I may have more suggestions, but I need to know the above answers. It started happening a few days after I got the laptop. I haven't made any hardware changes. The only software change I made was installing Etrust security suite and I think that should be it. Good thinking. Disable it from startup, or eventually uninstall. Thanks for your help Broni, but I need it. It is my firewall/antivirus/ and so on. It actually works pretty WELL, thats why I use it instead of Mcafee. No, you don't.
Surely, you need firewall, and antivirus, but there are free programs, you can use, and which I use. There is no reason to pay for them.
I assume, you already paid for Etrust, so in that event, just disable it for one computer start, and see, if your problem persist.
From your picture, it's definitely software problem.Ok thanks broni I'll disable and see what happens.Cool, let me know.
