Solve : Windows 2000 pro freezes up? |
Answer» <html><body><p>My Latitude C610 will not boot up and freezes on the <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/windows-22662" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about WINDOWS">WINDOWS</a> screen. (windows 2000 pro) I've pretty much tried everything I can think of: console, repair, fixboot, checkdisc,...etc.<br/><br/>And I ran the diagostics for dell: This is what come up:<br/><br/>everything was ok but this-<br/><br/>DST short status test: FAIL<br/>Error Code 1000-0142<br/>Msq: Unit Drive Self<br/>Test Failed-Status byte=74<br/><br/>When running windows repair this came up:<br/>The following value in the .SIF file that setup uses is corrupted or <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/missing-1098377" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about MISSING">MISSING</a> value 0 on the line in section (sourcediskfiles)<br/>with key "sp4.cab."<br/><br/>Setp was unable to copy the file sp4.cab.<br/><br/>I fortunately made a <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/backup-18158" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about BACKUP">BACKUP</a> of my <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/important-1038039" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about IMPORTANT">IMPORTANT</a> drives files just 2 days before this happen!! <br/><br/>Is this a <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/hard-1015537" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about HARD">HARD</a> drive problem or a windows problem?? <br/><br/><br/>Thanks for your help.<br/>Quote</p><blockquote>DST short status test: FAIL<br/>Error Code 1000-0142<br/>Msq: Unit Drive Self<br/>Test Failed-Status byte=74 </blockquote><br/>Is that diagnostic software for the HDD?
