Dudes, what do you park your *censored* on when you're using your primary computer?  Yesterday, I finally decided my old chair had to go and I went to Staples and bought a chair.  Here's what I got:


The chair was a CLEARANCE item, so the price was reduced to $60.

Now, my *censored* is happier, and so in my back.thats great news.. i need a new chair tooI COULD perhaps use a new chair, but I like this one (read: I'm too tight to spend money on a chair)
It was free from the guy across the road.I think a Lazy Boy recliner would make my *censored* more comfortable.
Maybe with a screen on the ceiling and on the desk, that way, if I want to recline, I can do it without having to STRAIN my neck and eyes to see the screen. Just look up. and I guess the keyboard would have to be on a swivel tray of some sort.
Speakers mounted by the ears.
... oh and a sub in the seat so it feels like a get a massage.
and while I'm dreaming.... never mind, I'm done....I have a laptop, so I go wherever.
Right now, I am sitting in a study room chair, its kind of like a winged chair, but the winged part is folded inwards... (Not sure what they are called)

It does not recline or anything, but it works...

It has an adjustable back so I can lean back when i'm tired or waiting for something to load or something.I just have a bog-standard "leather" office chair. Does the job. Although, the lazy boy is an interesting idea... mines a fold up lawn chair w/ cup holdersI'm a BIG fan of mesh type chairs, they're very comfortable and they breath. I've had SEVERAL other chairs and one of my biggest complaints was always that I'd get sweaty / uncomfortable after sitting in the chair for several hours. I couldn't seem to find a picture of my exact chair but there are several examples of these types of chairs at.

Having adjustable back lumbar support is also a nice feature. Staples had one or more of the mesh-type chairs and I was tempted to get one.  It seemed comfortable and I thought about the cooling benefit of the air flow that you mentioned.  Making a final decision was difficult.  They had many models of chairs and, of course, they all feel a little, or a lot, different. 

That visit to Staples on June 6 was not the first time I had looked at chairs.  But, I was really getting fed up with the old chair.  The underlying seat cushion material (presumably a foam type material) had lost it's elasticity, so sitting on it felt almost like sitting on a board.  It felt hard.  The new chair has a higher back, with better lumbar support than the old chair.  The chair back actually COMES up to about shoulder level when I'm sitting in it.

I looked at one chair in the store which had unique features, features which I think more chairs should have.  It had three handles on the right side under the seat, whereas most chairs had one.  One of those handles could be used to adjust the tilt angle of the chair back.  And, I believe another one allowed the user to adjust the tilt of the seat.  This just makes good sense, doesn't it?  How many years now have car featured adjustable seats?  I doubt there's a single car made today that does not have adjustable seat backs.

A few weeks ago, I would have believed that any COMPUTER would keep it possible to downgrade to XP without any problems, until a CH member posted a topic about it.

He claimed that he was unable to run XP correctly, since some of the hardware in his computer did not have an XP driver.

Most manufacture OEM's will not supply a full list of compatible drivers available for all operating systems. (since they are cheap and stuck up)
If you go to the manufacturer of the hardware itself, a lot of the times, they will not help you with getting the compatible driver, since the OEM has in their contract that all support be directed to them. (Yes, I happen to be talking about the jerks down at DELL)

Now, this does not mean that its impossible to get it to WORK, but it does not mean that its compatible.

Wound allows researchers to age 50-ton creature at about 115 years old

  BOSTON - A 50-ton bowhead whale caught off the Alaskan coast last month had a weapon fragment embedded in its neck that showed it survived a similar hunt — more than a century ago.

Embedded deep under its blubber was a 3½-inch arrow-shaped projectile that has given researchers insight into the whale’s age, estimated between 115 and 130 years old.

“No other finding has been this precise,” said John Bockstoce, an adjunct curator of the New BEDFORD Whaling Museum.

 Calculating a whale’s age can be difficult, and is usually gauged by amino acids in the eye lenses. It’s rare to find one that has LIVED more than a century, but experts say the oldest were close to 200 years old.

The whale, which was nearly half a football field long, had a bomb lance fragment lodged a bone between its neck and shoulder blade. The fragment was likely manufactured in New Bedford, on the southeast coast of Massachusetts, a major whaling center at that time, Bockstoce said.

It was probably shot at the whale from a heavy shoulder gun around 1890. The small metal cylinder was filled with explosives fitted with a time-delay fuse so it would explode seconds after it was shot into the whale. The bomb lance was meant to kill the whale immediately and prevent it from escaping.

The device exploded and probably INJURED the whale, Bockstoce said.

“It probably hurt the whale, or annoyed him, but it hit him in a non-lethal place,” he said. “He couldn’t have been that bothered if he lived for another 100 years.”

The whale harkens back to far different era. If 130 years old, it would have been born in 1877, the year Rutherford B. Hayes was sworn in as president, when federal Reconstruction troops withdrew from the South and when Thomas Edison unveiled his NEWEST invention, the phonograph.

The 49-foot male whale died when it was shot with a similar projectile last month, and the older device was found buried beneath its blubber as hunters carved it with a chain saw for harvesting.

I absolutely love Vista, it does seem to have HIGHER standards than what most people consider it.

Sure, it requires a better graphics card, RAM, Processor, but hey, it all ends up MAKING your computer faster

actually THERES since in that. all the version of windows, up to the Win NT family of OS's were based upon DOS. Windows NT, 2K, XP ,and Vista arent based on dos which makes it self-realiant. Win ME was the last OS to be based upon DOS(16-bit)I thought that where all dos based?  Well Learning as I go.no The NT(INCLUDING NT x.x, 2000, XP, Vista) family of OS's where the first to be self-reliant without the need for DOS.

If you dont know DOS, you dont know Windows....

If you knew about DOS then all the Windows version up to Win ME were second nature since all the were were fancy GUI's that MADE DOS easier to use without even having to type stuff on the command prompt. Once Windows NT came out, it was a whole new world since the NT family was 32bit compared with the 16/32bit hybrid of the old Windows versions.

Well everything has to come to a end , and blizzards fantastic game world of warcraft has finally ended for me , reaching the top level and getting the best gear for my class as possbile , Ive now got nothing to do . I quit WOW long ago after getting GM and finding Blizzard was changing it after I took the time to get it. I tried Conan and honestly wasn't that impressed with it. Granted it was beta when I tried it out. Personally I've been having a lot more fun with Warhammer online beta. Fantastic PVP and RVR.You know, I played the older version of World of Warcraft, and it was an okay game. I was NEVER overly impressed.

The only game I have ever been sucked into was The Sims 1 and 2. I tend to play the Sims 2 more when I am out of school...

EDIT: Now that I think about it, The Sims and WoW have a bit in common, they are both world simulation games (well.. moreover, the Sims is a single house simulation, but, still. DIRECT character control)

Just wanted to get some general OPINIONS on macs .Macs don't impress me because they're so expensive, and seem to me to be more "STYLE" than substance.
Style impresses me not at all, I prefer more functional-looking things to flashier ones so Macs immediately get a MINUS score there, as does the Mac OS.
I can't say I have extensive experience with them which is why I'm indifferent.
I wouldn't have one myself, but I'm not a rabid Apple hater.I'm indifferent to them. Mac OSX is a stable OS and can be very useful.
But if you made the poll about Mac users, I would have a different OPINION. Pretty much the same as Calum.

If you can't afford car, that doesn't entitle you to steal it, and don't try to retort with some REAL pig [email protected]%T about how software is any different. Maybe it is, but not according to the law. So although pirates everywhere can try to justify themselves as being in the right by making up excuses about outrageous pricesor how software should be free or how hard it is to find a store that sells it or how important it is that you have that 30k$ 3d modelling program for no reason, it won't make a difference as to the legality of the matter. Given, they seem to be having trouble enforcing it, what with the cowardly nature of pirates everywhere (unlike REAL pirates, who will actually draw their swords and fight a vessel that is set to capture them, software pirates hide on an "island"(country with more lax enforcement) until the sea is clear, and then send out a torrent throughout the sea.
