Solve : Can anybody help me with a PayPal fraud ??

Answer»
This is about a charge that PayPal says I  owe but I cannot find any record of it.
The PayPal company does not have any way for me to trace this . I asked for a printed copy and it did not show where the charge CAME from.

Does anybody understand what I'm talking about?

Where did PayPal say you owe them this money?  Does the transaction actually show up in your PayPal account when you log in or did you just get an email out of the blue?  PayPal is a massive target when it comes to phishing emails, only trust a PayPal transaction that shows up when you log in to your PayPal account and not stuff you get through via email (this also applies to when receiving money through them, only trust that you've received it if you can see it in your account when you log in). There is no record.
I requested a hard copy.
What I got did not identify any such transaction.
It talks like a scam and it walks like a scan.
But it is on my PayPal account and  can not see where it came from.
This has being  going on for a year.
Now the say they will turn it over to collection.

Thank you for you reply..

Here is a screenshot of what I see when I go to my account with PalPal intheweb site  http://palpal.com using my browser.
(The image is PNG with on four colors to reduce bandwidth but keep detail.)

The phone number they give is not for resolution of a dispute, it is only for making a PAYMENT. They do not offer a way to find out where this came from. They just want the money.

Do any body understand this?  It is NOT a dispute of a transaction. There is not any record of a transaction. I do not know where it came from and they will not tell me. They did not provide any detail that would show where this came from.
I think it is a scam from the inside.  Geek,
Can you not review all the activity on your account? Your screenshot indicates that this has been owing for approximately 1 year. If you cannot find any transactions that  would match the amount from that time period I would find this request highly suspect. Your account should have a record of all your transactions and payments. As Cameron asked what is the host email addy and/or web address. ? ?...You never answered. The URL in their screenshot appears legitimate.

The overdue amount is from a paypal credit line of credit. At some point you either didn't have enough funds or used Paypal credit to make a PURCHASE. You would want to review the *paypal credit* statement. It won't show up in "Account activity", I expect.Thank you for suggestions.
This URL seems to be from Paypal. Yst I can not find the activity directly related to this issue. I am going to review all activity six months back..
I can bring up an archived of past transactions, but the information is is a short form where  I can not figure out what it means.

I believe this is an inside fraud. From past experience in life, when somebody makes information hared to find or missing, it is an attempt to try and fool me.

On the other hand, my bank has a concise exact statement that shows all that hat I put in and took out and the NAME of who it was to or from.

The PalPay activity statement does not show me the PaplPayCredit line balance.  And. it does not show payments. I go to the URL given for the Paypal Credit information and the information they provide does not led to a page that shows credit activity They say there is a link I can find. So far I can not find it. I will keep trying.
I'm pretty sure that Activity page only shows activity for your Paypal account. Paypal credit is a line of credit and the activity is going to be separated from it and doesn't appear on your main paypal page. A analog could be how credit card activity, even when you have the credit card with with the same bank, won't show it's activity on your chequing account.

It's hard to tell though since I don't have Paypal Credit so have no idea if it would show that balance on the main activity page.

On the left side of your summary page (I believe that is the page you linked) there should be a "Paypal Credit" link. This takes you to the page for your Paypal Credit account. There should be a way to view the statements for the Paypal Credit account from there. (After presumably choosing a billing cycle). That should give you a place to start looking.

Note that you have to explicitly sign up for Paypal Credit. It is a line of credit extended by Synchrony Bank that can be connected to your paypal account (but doesn't have to be). At some point you did explicitly sign up for it. What I would GUESS may have happened is that some point after that you accidentally bought something using it and then forgot. After 6 months the balance is retroactively billed at 19.999% interest and then compound interest at a minimum charge of 2 dollars every month going forward.
Thank you BC.
Yes, at one time I did have the credit line. I belie that I had paid it in full. But now, without being able  to find the entrance to the credit account, I can not see where that was confirmed.

Most likely I will have to write a letter to executive at PayPal. The regular account support people have to stick to a script and they have a list of things that can do. My issue is out of the box

There might be a technical error. The software may have read a flag that says I do not have a credit account. In that case I will never see the credit activity unless a supervisor comes and takes a look.

I think I will ha veto check into the users forum on eBay. Maybe they know what this is. It has been a long time since I was in the forum. Not sure if I can find my way in. I think it is down a rabbit hole.
Check out this link, direct from the PayPal website, it may help you locate the statements for your PayPal Credit transactions:

Where can I view my PayPal Credit Statements? --> https://www.paypal.com/us/smarthelp/article/FAQ3843

But if PayPal claims you owe them money, they have to be able to tell you / show you exactly they say you haven't paid

Not sure if this is what you've tried already, but just worth a thought. Good Luck Geek.

Thanks. That link is what I need.

I try to follow it and the description does not match my screen.
I can not locate the item they name. I am no good at divination.
I can not enter the PayPal Credit area. I only get into the area that does not have the PayPal credit.
I stated a chat with a robot. It could only answer three things. Very bad example of AI. But I will try again in the morning. It is time for bed.
I kink we  found something.

Why You Shouldn't Bother Signing Up For PayPal Credit
Quote
...  In short, PayPal Credit is fairly innocuous, but also pretty unnecessary.

The best thing you get out of the line of credit is increased time to pay for larger purchases, but if you can't pay for discretionary items in cash today, you probably shouldn't be buying them.

Signing up also may lead consumers to buy more: TechCrunch reported that PayPal users spend 30% more after signing up for credit. That's not exactly a good thing.

Solve : Will new 5G servcie improve rural internet coverage??

Answer»

Here is a recent news item about the 5G thing:
https://www.usnews.com/news/business/articles/2019-04-12/fcc-to-hold-big-5g-auction-spend-20b-for-rural-internet

As yu can see from the link, it suggests this will help rural internet coverage.

But I am very doubt full.
Why don't the 3G and 4G provide coverage for all of the USA?
Is there something I am missing here?

Isn't there an economic reason, to do with AMOUNT of revenue generated, versus COST of provision? It MAKES business sense to plant cell phone network masts ("towers" in USA) in areas of high population, and (often forgotten) provide network infrastructure to service them, (fibre links, routers, etc), and crucially, power. Less so in remote rural areas. You don't build a railroad or freeway to every little village or hamlet. If it would take 100 years to get, in usage charges and revenue from selling plans, to pay back the cost, ain't gonna happen.I agree. It will not happen soon enough.
Here is a blurb from PC Mag:
Quote

AT&T is kicking off the 5G revolution with its launch of America's first 5G mobile hotspot on Dec. 21. Initially, this new network will only come to dense parts of 12 CITIES, and the millimeter-wave spectrum that AT&T is using is more SUITABLE for cities and suburbs than for the countryside.
https://www.pcmag.com/news/365565/what-will-5g-do-for-rural-areas
In fact, there are a number of negative comments from credible sources.
Here is a bit from CBS News that tries to be nice:
Quote
But with great speed comes great complexity. Because the millimeter wave used by 5G transfers information at short distances, more transmitters and base stations, signal repeaters, are required. This could result in prolonged deployment times and spotty coverage, or no coverage in rural areas. 5G waves are also more susceptible to atmospheric interference and weather conditions like rain.

Solve : Rare Earth elements. Gloom and Doom??

Answer»

Start dictation.

What about the Rare Earth elements?
Normally we hardly ever hear anything about this subject. At one time they talk about it in your chemistry class or in your physics class and then you probably forgot whatever it was the teacher said. On the periodic scale of elements there are some 17 items that are listed as Rare Earth.
Are they REALLY rare? And Freddie you find them? Actually, they are not so rare, and they are everywhere. The hard part is making them appear enough for industrial use. In their raw forms they are often combined with MANY other things and so you have to have a process that separates these elements from all the other stuff.
So what is the big fuss? It is because China is presently the biggest producer and the biggest stockpile or of these elements that are used throughout industry for making a wide variety of things that are part of the modern age.
Anything that's made out of metal or chemicals will probably need at some point a little bit of the rare earth stuff. Not much is needed, a little bit goes a long way. So what is the problem?
As you know there is currently quite a bit of tension between the United States and China over trade issues and someone BROUGHT up the idea that maybe China would crack down on export of the aforementioned rare earth elements. That is unlikely and even if they did it would not have any immediate impact on current industrial production.
United States has a large stockpile of this material and there is no reason to believe that it'll get used up in the near future. Also, Brazil is one of the countries that also produces and stores this kind of stuff. So even without the Chinese there still is another way to get the stuff. Here in the United States it is no longer being produced or refined because there is little interest in it.
And YES, Russia also produces it and has a large storehouse. It is very unlikely that Russia and China together would get a firm grip on the worlds supply of rare earth elements. It's just not going to happen. So don't worry about it.

The end of dictation. You are once again missing the WHOLE point...
We ship 50,000 tons of those to China every year...because the enviornmentelist whack jobs in this country have made it prohibitally expensive to build refinerie plants to process the elements...

Solve : Identify this part of a satellite dish?

Answer»

Can you identify this part of a satellite dish?
Attachment below. It came from the Direct TV thing on my roof.
Google images said it  might be a water gun. I am sure it is not.  Geek,
That is your LNB (Low Noise Block Downconverter). It should be mounted in front of the dish. It collects and transfers the signals COLLECTED by the dish to your receiver.Hey, you are sharp.    Two  techs pulled it out of my disk and replaced it.
What I don't understand is why it has two other things next to the part that does the work. I have not tried to open it up. But I wonder what the two other round gizmos do. It looks like heads for lower r bands.
Do they sometimes use this for places where the upper spectrum is not usable? Like maybe the north pole?
I am so curious.  Your dish looks at 3 different satellites that are spaced fairly close to each other. It is actually a Tri-LNB - one for each satellite. In Canada we are only blessed with dual LNB's for 2 Sats. They were brought in when high def. signals began to be broadcast.Wow!
If you toil me that a week ago I would not have believed it. It SOUNDS impossible. I was taught that parabolic reflector can only focus on a sing target.

Checking on You Tube, there are tutorials for installers who install the new Direct TV stuff. Hard to belie. They confirm the new thing now is a three target dish which  gets the three out of four birds owned by Direct TV. It is documented in the You Tube tutorials.

They use both Ka ans Ku band satellite feeds. The idea makes me dizzy

This was not meant to be an endorsement of Direct TV. I found out this kind of stuff has been done for a number of years. Boy am I ignorant! Look at this:

LNB 2,3 & 4 satellite menu page.

The above is for people who a DIY gurus.

I'm just sayin from personal experience...and it ain't about antenna pointingI don't know how many dishes you've installed but I've installed enough to know that losing the signal whenever it rains is all about aligning that dish to receive maximum signal (90 - 100) from all transponders on each sat. If you were losing your signal every time it rained your signal strength was probably in the 60 - 80 range on most or all transponders which would give you an acceptable picture on clear & light cloud days but it wouldn't take much to degrade your signal to the point of losing it.
Granted with consumer receivers heavy cloud with heavy rain can degrade the signal enough to lose it but speaking from personal experience that has happened 3 or 4 times in the 20 years I've had a dish and I've never received a call back for rain LOSS on any installation I've done.
Just sayin...I don't care about how many installs you have done but i'm happy about your luck...

When it happens here it is 7 or 8 locations that experirnce the same OUTAGES...
What are the odds 1 goofus placed all those dishes ? ?
Slim to none. Quote from: patio on May 09, 2019, 08:14:07 PM

Sorry pal, luck had & has absolutely nothing to do with it. Just sayin...The major satellite companies are all working on new ideas to improve service for customers in the USA and other areas.

The reason I got this thing from Direct TV was because they are during upgrades to the equipment and the techs found this LBN was weak.

This new technology is hard to understand. I am an old-school analog tech. This new digital stuff opens up some possibilities that are very clever and on the edge.

It just may be that soon satellite systems might become  choice for any kind of data.

The military people already have systems the work all the time out at sea,. No kind of weather stops it s long as the ship is not under water.

Quote

The last time I had to extend myself in the friendship department was nearly 30 years ago when I spent a couple of years in New York City.
When you're in your twenties, meeting new people doesn't seem so daunting. I had a full-time corporate job in a big city, and there were plenty of opportunities and fun places to meet new people.
What would add to this list?  Honestly, just get out more and visit new places.

College is a good place to meet new people as well, but not everyone is gonna go to college to make friends. Lol. But if someone were to be considering going to college and had sufficient funds to do so, then I would recommend it because you can definitely make good friends, if not find a significant other. Not the most easy of routes, but it is basically high school all over again.I've made a bunch of friends in ONLINE games such as World of Warcraft as well as social online virtual places like on Second Life and IMVU. Then they became later friended on facebook. But I dont look for friends on facebook. And actually I dont really look for friends trying to find friends ect. If I bump into someone cool along my travels and we hit it off chatting and stuff then it can become a friendship of hanging out again to chat more or game more etc.

Lots of good people out there and not sure what your looking for in a friendship etc but there are people of all types out there. It's much easier when you're at college/university. You're hanging out with your BUDDIES and they introduce you to their friends etc. And it's definitely a bit tougher to make friends without any existing social connections, if you're on the shyer end (like me). That's why volunteering helped me a lot.
Another option is to join local fanclubs (if you're a geek) and conventions, concerts and other events. I am reminded of the lonely man who rubbed a magic bottle, and a genie appeared and said, "I will grant you one thing. You can choose either to get one true friend or a billion dollars". The man said "I'll take the billion dollars". The genie said "OK, but I thought you were a man who values friendship". The guy said "I am. With a billion dollars, I'll have lots of true friends". Quote from: Salmon Trout on February 19, 2019, 11:50:08 AM
I am reminded of the lonely man  .... The guy said "I am. With a billion dollars, I'll have lots of true friends".
I have $15. What can I get?  I USED to get acquainted through the Internet. It is convenient and fast. In addition, this way you can quickly understand whether you are suitable for each other or not. I even met a girlfriend through the Internet. After a long search, I still found her. We communicated daily for about a month. Then we decided to meet. Now we are building relationships.
As for friends, the best of friends since childhood. The best way I think will be honest, polite, respect etc. which I find not many can match or meet the requirements, online or offline, I think people are the same people, online or offline, the same dangerous or proceed with caution. I once have a IMVU account, but it got deleted after some years which i was offline, I mean off the internet after computer died, along with family issue etc., anyway I did not deleted my account, I still want to use it, I have a huge group there with thousands members but, I feel disappointed with IMVU to what they did to my account, I don't like facebook but I still have one account but I got no friends there anyway, only 1 friend at this moment, maybe 2 shortly because I joined a group and the leader is friending me but I'm thinking what we don't ever chatted anything yet, sometimes I see people as spy... easily... am I the only one who would think this way? Maybe~Yulan,
I Like your post. Thank you.

Solve : How do you Ship a small box at home.?

Answer»

Hey, this is off topic.

Maybe you WANT to ship a small box out of town or out of state. But you just do not want to go to the local Post Office and wait in line. And even maybe you are not sure if the local post office will give you advise. They might be to busy to help you decide.

Here is an article on eBay about shipping from heme. If you do it right, you might be able to just drop the box into any of the a deposits the USPS has around your neighborhood. Canada and  UK have similar things, but this eBay thing applies to the USA.

How To Do Basic USPS Shipping From Home

Quote

The Panic Guide To USPS Shipping
If you've just sold something and took a big gulp when you FOUND out how complicated shipping looks, read this quick guide to get you started. I will assume you are using USPS:
...You can skip the line if there is a drop-off window. Or schedule a free carrier pickup on USPS.com.
I have yet to try this. Has anybody here done this? Did it work for you?
What about Canada?     I've left parcels for the carriers on the doorstep under the mailbox...they take them.

No...i'm not in Canada.Years ago I checked into this. But I decided not to go with this mainly because I was fearful that items for shipment picked up at my house could be stolen if anyone knew I was using this service and leaving there to where the carrier could grab them, and if I have to wait around for the carrier to pick up items to ship, it means that I am tied down to having to wait around. Additionally I would have to buy equipment to weigh my own packages and set up a credit card to bill to for items to ship.

So I personally just went to the post office during non peak hours and this way I could get right in and right out and I wasn't fearful of thieves as well as being stuck to waiting around for the carrier before I could leave because I'd have to hand the items to the carrier for shipment.

If going at lunch time or when everyone gets out of work then you will likely get stuck in the DREADFUL line. I also INSTEAD of shipping daily changed to a twice a week shipping to where Saturday and Wednesday were my days to ship customers products. Most people didnt mind the extra couple days added to the delivery time. The few that complained I apologized and pointed out the fact that my ebay auctions state the fact of the twice a week delivery. Most didnt mind the extra few days before it was delivered from the purchase date.

The USPS also has partner companies that you can ship from as well such as Staples offers customer service to ship items. This ability to ship from home though works well for people who dont mind being home and waiting for the carrier and going through the process of setting this up. A small business for example that they work from home and dont mind being there from 9 to 5 for example it works out well because there is no loss of productivity standing in line to ship. Your already there and can just stop whatever your doing to give items to carrier or leave items out on a counter for carrier and they ship.

Biggest thing is knowing what can and cant ship and what all the different fees are so that its set up for delivery properly such as proper postage, proper identification and paperwork and labeling etc so that a product with a Lithium Battery for example stays as Ground Shipping and doesn't make its way into an aircraft etc. As well as international paperwork for customs etc if anything ships to another country.

For me its so much easier just going to the post office at a non peak time and having a qualified and skilled customer service person ask the necessary questions and affix the proper labels and assign the proper postage so that its not returned die to insufficient postage etc. Only draw back for some is that some post offices have odd hours where they can be closed for 2 hours to which you thought going at 2pm would work out well to be non peak time, but the post office just opened back up and there is a flood of people needing to ship at that time etc.I prefer the porch...never failed me... Solve : Why you might NOT buy another Windows PC.?

Answer»

After all these years, Microsoft is losing the desktop PC market.  On put another  way, The Desktop PC has come to is end of life.

Next year they will bring Windows 7 to its end. But that is not what I mean. Desktop PC sales are way down, people buy laptops, tablets and smartphone instead. Here is a blurb from last year. Now it is worse and no worth a mention.
https://www.pcmag.com/news/361916/pc-sales-keep-falling-but-big-manufacturers-are-doing-just
Quote

PC Sales Keep Falling, But Big Manufacturers Are Doing Just Fine
Worldwide desktop and laptop sales have declined steadily since 2012, but the biggest casualties of the shrinking market have been the little guys; PC shipments from top vendors including Dell, HP, and Lenovo have remained relatively steady.
    By Rob Marvin
    June 20, 2018 8:00AM EST
Here is the problem with Windows: It does not do well on tablets and smartphones. They have tried but it just did not catch on.
Microsoft has the Surface Pro notebook computer. It is nice, but can not approach the polarity of other similar devices hat WORK almost as good.
Look at his:
https://www.cnet.com/news/microsoft-using-googles-android-software-is-bigger-than-its-surface-duo-phone/

You can draw your own conclusion.

Here is what I think.  It seems the the Surface Pro will never be a major player in the Personal Computer market. Unless they make it into an Android!

Am I wrong?  Desktop PC and Laptop sales have been declining simply because people keep them longer. mobiles like Smartphones and Tablets have components such as batteries that are not intended to be consumer replacable which after about 2 or 3 years end up causing issues, slow performance, or random power-offs which will frustrate most users. Paired with the status symbol some people have attached to new phones, they get REPLACED far more readily.
The demise of the desktop has been predicted for quite a few years now.  The main thing keeping desktops alive is the gaming market.  The PC is the superior platform for gaming, as long as there are gamers, there will be a market for desktop PCs.I know this hasn't been posted in for over a month, but I want to add, it's not just gamers. Sometimes, we like using a desktop.
You can do more with a desktop, like add addon cards more USB port, etc.
I have a desktop connected to my TV for my entertainment system, so I can watch my downloaded movies, shows, watch Youtube, etc.
I mostly use a desktop beccuase of preference. Sometimes, I use a laptop, like if I'm in bed.

PCs are generally easier to use than an mobile phone, or tablet; becuase apps are limited, for one thing.

December 19, 1732 - Benjamin Franklin first published Poor Richard's Almanac containing weather predictions, humor, proverbs and epigrams, eventually selling nearly 10,000 copies per year.
December 20, 1699 - Czar Peter the Great CHANGED the Russian New Year from September 1 to January 1 as part of his reorganization of the Russian calendar.
December 21, 1972 - East and West Germany established diplomatic ties, ending nearly two decades of Cold War hostility and paving the way for international recognition of East Germany
December 22, 1783 - Following a triumphant journey from New York to Annapolis, Maryland, George Washington, victorious Commander-in-Chief of the American Revolutionary Army, APPEARED before Congress and voluntarily resigned his commission.
December 23, 1947 - The transistor was invented at Bell Laboratories by John Bardeen, Walter Brattain and William Shockley, who shared the Nobel Prize for their invention which sparked a WORLDWIDE revolution in electronics.
December 24, 1814 - The Treaty of Ghent between America and Britain was signed, officially ending the War of 1812.
December 25, 1868 - PRESIDENT Andrew Johnson granted general amnesty to all those involved in the Civil War.
December 26, 2004 - An estimated 230,000 persons were killed and 1.5 million left homeless when a magnitude 9.3 earthquake on the seafloor of the Indian Ocean set off a SERIES of giant tsunami waves that smashed into the shorelines of a dozen countries including Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, India and Somalia.
...

You thought you were busy?  November is busier....Another interesting fact about December is that so far, every year seems to end as soon as it is over. Coincidence?

You know that. What is new is the fear of  range fires from electric cable SPARKS in high winds on hot and dry days. Some towers have wires above 50 kilo volts. Now they are telling the public they shall bury cables in the worst areas.

Is that a joke?

Is there really a viable way to bury high voltage cables.
Does anybody anything about how they might bury high voltage wires?

I don't BELIEVE what they say. Please tel me I am wrong!

Here are links that have recent news about PG&E in California.

https://www.pge.com/en_US/residential/customer-service/other-services/electric-undergrounding-program/electric-undergrounding-program.page

You can find some videos. I found these on Bing

Videos of Pacific Gas and Electric to bury power cables.

What do you think?Burying high voltage cables is expensive, but it can be done. In Britain, where an overhead high voltage TRANSMISSION line might spoil an area of natural beauty, cables carrying 400 kV have been buried. The technology is well established, and the main problem is the cost. Insulated cables are more expensive, it is more expensive to dig and bury than to build towers, and for a buried line the conductors need to be bigger to reduce heat from resistive losses. If the political will is there it can be done.

Solve : H2O model train figure 8 track, How??

Answer»

This is way off topic. It is a logic problem. Or maybe a hardware thing.
When I was a kid I had a Lionel O gauge with three trails.It was a figure 8.

At that time I learned that only the three rail mode train would have a figure 8 track layout.  The H2O standard is two rail and you can not have a figure 8. It would short out the power supply if you tried. But that was a longtime ago.

I have tried to find the answer in Google search, but I just do not know how to express the concept. I am sure somebody somewhere has done it with relays and sensors. You have to set up some kind of automatic switching that will separate the sections of track and swap the polarity when the engine comes near the  place where you want to change the polarity.

I was hoping to see how then did it and how many relays they had to use and if it works smoothly. Does anybody understand what I mean?   ONE track passing over another as in your image I would not expect to present a difficulty. It is only if the two tracks actually pass through one another. For that, It seems to me the simplest solution would be to simply not have the square section where the tracks actually pass conduct electricity at all for one route. have the conductor itself instead go underneath the track surface and back up on the other side.

This would work particularly well with ENGINES that accept power from both their front and back wheels. Then even when passing over the non-powered segment, the engine will still be able to run. With a single pair of wheels Inertia may be enough to bring it over as well. Thanks, BC .
You are right, I just could not visualize how it works.
I am gonna takes some color pencils and draw the figure 8 again and again 'till I can see it in my MIND. This has bothered me for years.

Is there a branch of mathematics that deals with this kind of thing?

You can see the INSULATING sections in this PHOTO. In England, we call this a 'diamond crossing'.

As for the polarity on a figure-of-eight layout, draw the layout with the 2 rails, and label one + (positive) and one negative (-). Now follow either one around with your finger and you will see it joins up with itself. What is the outer rail in one loop is the inner rail in the other. Here, I did it for you....

Is there a branch of mathematics that deals with this kind of thing?

Topology, maybe?
Of course, real model-rail buffs will tell you that most toy type model trains are hopelessly unrealistic when it comes to starting and stopping. A real train weighs hundreds of tons and takes a while to get going (and also to stop!). Toy trains weigh not much, and are wildly overpowered, so as soon as you put the power on, they rush away from a stand, and when you turn the power off, they stop at once. Not realistic. You can get model locos with flywheels in the drive to add a bit of inertia, and these days, you can simulate that with the digital control systems. Either way, a model train should coast over the small gaps at a crossing or switch.

Here is my namesake, No. 60041 'Salmon Trout', in OO Gauge.

And a cheaper version

See the flywheels and clutch?

From dictation.
Thank you both for your help. For years I had thought that figure 8 was impossible with the H2O scale because it has only two rails. Now I can see that I was wrong and I don't know why I got that idea when I was a youngster that the figure 8 only work with the three rail Lionel oh track.
So now that I have that resolved, I can sleep easier at night and not be confused by my lack of understanding of what can be done with model train scale H2O.
And Salmon Trout, thank you so much for the illustrations in the photos of your engines. That was a clever idea about putting off like we'll inside of the engine to make it more realistic.
Unless anybody else as something to add to this, I am satisfied with the answers provided.

Solve : Can I or how can I use e-money??

Answer»

You can imagine I just wake up from a curse more than 20 years ago, that I skipped the technology or money system nowadays. The point is that, I don't have or don't want to apply or use credit card ANYMORE, actually I don't like bank service or human service boring story better not to tell. I don't know what is PayPal or similar things but I'm guessing they all must tie with credit card. There are internet downloaded software I like to pay for the license but so sorry, it's not that I don't like to, I find them very useful and I really want to pay them. And, here is my recent encounter: I'm learning Android development, I mean software development, and in the future when I need or want to summit my product to Play |>Shop, I need to first pay the one time "Developer Registration FEE" at US$25.00 you can take a look at https://play.google.com/apps/publish/signup/

There, the main phase is credit card and only that, but when I click continue at the lower-right corner, it then says credit card or debit card, my most concern will be that, is debit card MEANS the "ATM card" that the bank will give you anyway when starting an account? Will that work? I don't like going to a bank but I think I have to give it a try anyway. I asked the teacher and he said there're things like Google prepaid cards, but I don't think that's a legal answer since no other options except credit card or debit card, mainly credit card.

Perhaps it's time for me to step into the field of internet money, but what can I do? I can buy a PSN prepaid card, Xbox gift card, Nintendo prepaid card, Google play shop card(?) I'm really confused or unclear what then I can do, can I transfer the Google prepaid card into things like PayPal, or buy games on Steam? Never used Steam anyway, yet, but looks like everyone is talking about Steam in the game industry.

There is a thing Kickstarter, can I back a game for example, to be a backer, with the money/BALANCE in PSN or Xbox live account? I guess the answer is no You might be able to use a prepaid debt card that you add cash to. I have a Netspend Debt Card for example that I can add money to and its in my name so it looks and acts just like a regular credit card with Mastercard as the type and I am able to add money to it via a cash transaction at a store.

It might be worth getting one of these and adding $25 to it and seeing if this works.

I have used this mainly for when making a purchase that requires a credit card, but by which I want to not use my main credit card to make a purchase online, so that if someone got a hold of the account number and expiration date and code on the back of the card, they can only take what has been prepaid to the account and nothing more. I currently have a $0.00 balance on my card because I spent what I added to it. I only add money to this account when I need to make an online transaction that I dont completely trust the website to not steal my account number and run with it.

The only issue I ran into with this Netspend Card was that it cant be used to buy other forms of money online. Such as you cant use it to buy virtual currency as for they dont want the service used for money laundering. I wasnt doing anything illegal but I wanted to buy a virtual currency called Linden and it was not allowed because a virtual currency like Linden could be used for laundering between anonymous accounts.

That being said this card has a requirement that you prove your identity though as a means to also thwart people from using it for illegal money transactions: Card usage is subject to card activation and identity verification

Thank you, I have a better understanding now, unfortunately, netspend.com likely ban my region, browser show up this error:

This site can’t be reached
www.netspend.com took too long to respond.
Try:
- Checking the connection

But I have a better understand to debit card, or the same meaning to debt card, maybe I should ask for a debit card application and see if there is any in any banks, I never heard of such a thing myself. Just discover there is Steam prepaid card, so it acts like PSN or Xbox store, while a computer is more expensive than a console, 3 or 4 times up, likely more games are on Steam.

I really should look into debt card firstA Steam pre-paid card is only good for steam....hope you know that.

Solve : Tech Stock Market is crazy.?

Answer»

Hey, this this off topic!
Today, mad all this week,  good tech stocks like Apple and Microsoft were bouncing around. Why? No good reason.

The general outlook for most technology stacks is good in the long-term. But people become nervous over things that are not all that important. Why?  They worry about trade with China. That is not a real ISSUE.
Instead, tech will do better in the years ahead, Why? Because the way the Internet is now becoming the entertainment media of the future,. Companies like Apple and Roku will GAIN market share.

Here is a mostly positive story:

First of all this is not a political post. Just mentions suspicions I have with the tweets that affect the stock market that you could MAKE money on, by being able to BUY low after a tweet and then being able to sell it on the rebound for a profit.

When it comes to stocks... I'd follow the market manipulation that Trump creates. Some of the tweets that cause stuff to dip could be for 3rd party individuals being helped by Trump to be able to buy the stocks at a lesser cost, so that when they rebound after the fear from that tweet is gone they can sell them and profit and Trump isn't seen as manipulating the market to make money.  If you wanna do well in the market don't read tweets...I am sorry. Making any political stamen t is not what I wanted.

However the needed technology will not be economically feasible for the average home. Also the scientists readily admit that the computer will require not yet invented technology to actually work, but 50 years from now scientific progress is expected to solve these problems. An electric car is a car with an electric motor powered by rechargeable batteries. Electric cars are mechanically simpler and more durable than gasoline-powered cars, and they don’t have to exploit finite resources (natural resources that can’t be replaced). They also produce less pollution than do gasoline-powered cars because they directly do not expel any wastes. Yet, the problem lies in that the electricity needed to power electric cars is produced in polluting power plants, and electric vehicles are impractical at this point in time. But, with the advent of modern technology and research, electric cars may be the solution to major environmental problems 50 years in the future.

So,what polluting gadget are they going to use to charge the batteries Hmm?

Also,On global warming. If the third world countries are producing all the future products for the industrialized countries....They have much lower
polution standards in third world countries..Isn't modern countries just
exporting their industries to more polluting countries and getting rid of
guilt but,at the same time actually increasing world pollution?

The USA would have much higher pollution control than China.
We are actually accellerating pollution in the world but,it looks good

Solve : Guidelines for Cats?

Answer» Doors:
Do not allow closed doors in any room. To get door opened, stand on hind legs and hammer with forepaws. Once door is opened, it is not necessary to USE it. After you have ordered an 'outside' door opened, stand halfway in and out and think about several things. This is particularly important during very cold weather, rain, snow, or mosquito season. Swinging doors are to be avoided at all costs.
Chairs and Rugs:
If you have to throw up, get to a chair quickly. If you cannot manage in time, get to an Oriental rug. If there is no Oriental rug, shag is good. When throwing up on the carpet, make sure you back up so that it is as long as the human's bare foot.
Bathrooms:
Always accompany guests to the bathroom. It is not necessary to do anything . . . just sit and stare.
Hampering:
If one of your humans is engaged in some close activity and the other is idle, stay with the busy one. This is called 'helping', otherwise known as 'hampering.' Following are the rules for 'hampering':

    * When supervising cooking, sit just behind the left heel of the cook. You cannot be seen and thereby stand a better chance of being stepped on and then picked up and comforted.

    * For book readers, get in close under the chin, between eyes and book, unless you can lie across the book itself.

    * For knitting projects or paperwork, lie on the work in the most appropriate manner so as to obscure as much of the work or at least the most important part. Pretend to doze, but every so often reach out and slap the pencil or knitting needles. The worker may try to distract you; ignore it. Remember, the aim is to hamper work. Embroidery and needlepoint projects make great hammocks in spite of what the humans may tell you.

    * For people paying bills (monthly activity) or working on income taxes or Christmas cards (annual activity), keep in mind the aim-to hamper! First, sit on the paper being worked on. When dislodged, watch sadly from the side of the table. When activity proceeds nicely, roll around on the papers, scattering them to the best of your ability. After being removed for the second time, push pens, pencils, and erasers off the table, one at a time. When a human is holding the newspaper in front of him/her, be sure to jump on the back of the paper. They love to jump.

Walking:
As often as possible, dart quickly and as close as possible in front of the human, especially on stairs, when they have something in their arms, in the dark, and when they first get up in the morning. This will help their coordination skills.
Bedtime:
Always sleep on the human at night so s/he cannot move around.
Play:
This is an important part of your life. Get enough sleep in the daytime so you are fresh for your nocturnal games. Below are listed several favorite cat games that you can play. It is important, though, to maintain one's dignity at all times. If you should have an accident during play, such as falling off a chair, IMMEDIATELY wash a part of your body as if to say 'I meant to do that!' It fools those humans every time.
Cat Games:

    * Catch Mouse:
The humans would have you believe that those lumps under the covers are their feet and hands. They are lying. They are actually Bed Mice, rumored to be the most delicious of all the mice in the world, though no cat has ever been able to catch one. Rumor also has it that only the most ferocious attack can stun them long enough for you to dive under the covers to get them. Maybe YOU can be the first to taste the Bed Mouse!

    * King of the Hill:
This game must be played with at least one other cat. The more, the merrier! One or both of the sleeping humans is Hill 303 which must be defended at all costs from the other cat(s). Anything goes. This game allows for the development of unusual tactics as one must take the unstable playing theater into account.

Warning: Playing either of these games to excess will result in expulsion from the bed and possibly from the bedroom. Should the humans grow restless, immediately begin purring and cuddle up to them. This should buy you some time until they fall asleep again. If one happens to be on a human when this occurs, this cat wins the round of King of the Hill.

Toys:
Any small item is a potential toy. If a human tries to confiscate it, this MEANS that it is a good toy. Run with it under the bed. Look suitably outraged when the human grabs you and takes it away. Always watch where it is put so you can STEAL it later. Two reliable sources of toys are dresser tops and wastebaskets. There are several types of cat toys.

    * Bright shiny things like keys, brooches, or coins should be hidden so that the other cat(s) or humans can't play with them. They are generally good for playing hockey with on uncarpeted floors.

    * Dangly and/or string-like things such as shoelaces, cords, gold chains, and dental floss (& Q-tips) also make excellent toys. They are favorites of humans who like to drag them across the floor for us to pounce on.

    * When a string is dragged under a newspaper or throw rug, it magically becomes the Paper/Rug Mouse and should be killed at all costs. Take care, though. Humans are sneaky and will try to make you lose your dignity.

Paper Bags:
Within paper bags dwell the bag mice. They are small and camouflaged to be the same color as the bag, so they are hard to see. But you can easily hear the crinkling noises they make as they scurry around the bag. Anything, up to and including shredding the bag, can be done to kill them. Note: any other cat you may find in a bag hunting for bag mice is fair game for a sneak attack, which will usually result in a great Tagmatch.
Food:
In order to get the energy to sleep, play, and hamper, a cat must eat. Eating, however, is only half the fun. The other half is getting the food. Cats have two ways to obtain food: convincing a human you are starving to death and must be fed now; and hunting for it oneself. The following are guidelines for getting fed.

    * When the humans are eating, make sure you leave the tip of your tail in their dishes when they are not looking.

    * Never eat food from your own bowl if you can steal some from the table. Never drink from your own water bowl if a human's glass is full enough to drink from.

    * Should you catch something of your own outside, it is only polite to attempt to get to know it. Be insistent. Your food will usually not be so polite and try to leave.

    * Table scraps are delicacies with which the humans are unfortunately unwilling to readily part. It is beneath the dignity of a cat to beg outright for food as lower forms of life such as dogs will, but several techniques exist for ensuring that the humans don't forget you exist. These include, but are not limited to: jumping onto the lap of the 'softest' human and purring loudly; lying down in the doorway between the dining room and the kitchen, the 'direct stare', and twining around people's legs as they sit and eat while meowing plaintively.

Sleeping:
As mentioned above, in order to have enough energy for playing, a cat must get plenty of sleep. It is generally not difficult to find a comfortable place to curl up. Any place a human likes to sit is good, especially if it contrasts with your fur color. If it's in a sunbeam or near a heating duct or radiator, so much the better. Of course, good places also exist outdoors, but have the disadvantages of being seasonal and dependent on current and previous weather conditions such as rain. Open windows are a good compromise.
Scratching Posts:
It is ADVISED that cats use any scratching post the humans may provide. They are very protective of what they think is their property and will object strongly if they catch you sharpening your claws on it. Being sneaky and doing it when they aren't around won't help, as they are very observant. If you are an outdoor kitty, trees are good. Sharpening your claws on a human is not recommended.
Humans:
Humans have three primary functions: to feed us, to play with and give attention to us, and to clean the litter box. It is important to maintain one's Dignity when around humans so that they will not forget who is the master of the house. Humans need to know basic rules. They can be taught if you start early and are consistent.Nice to see something actually clever and well done on the 'net!

It's right up there with the idea that "dogs have owners, cats have staff."

Thanks for posting!I enjoyed this too Broni.

One I never figured out when you shine a flashlight on the floor and wall
as you move it around boy cats chase it.Female cats show little,or no interest....Go figure.Heh, nice read.Interesting I suppose most guys are simple. These guidelines, and more, all apply to my cat.
I thought perhaps I just had a crazy one, but maybe this is normal.
My cat Rebel also likes to hide under the doormat and then pounce, growling, from underneath it when least expected, such as "the morning after" at 5 a.m.Nice post.add to sleeping:
If two humans are sleeping together, bite the glutus maximus of the one that doesn't feed you. That one will move so you can lay down between them.

Answer» http://penny-arcade.com/2008/6/18/#news_22519
I thought this was humerus

Quote
Lil' Gabe is 3 and a half now and so it's very important that we always have a ready supply of fruit snacks. If we're out shopping or at the bank or whatever, fruit snacks have the ability to soothe the SAVAGE three year old. We like to let Gabe pick out his own fruit snacks and he usually will choose Spider-Man or MAYBE SpongeBob. HOWEVER I came home recently and found these in the pantry.

I would LOVE to know what sick *censored* at Kellogs came up with this genius idea. I just spent the first three years of my sons life trying to get him not to eat blocks, and now you're telling him they taste like ******* strawberries. Thanks a lot ********. Seriously, how in the *censored* did this ever get past their legal department. You can't tell me that this isn't a lawsuit just waiting to happen. I can only assume that their next product is fruit flavored thumbtacks.
Awesome!wait... so they JUST made them edible? Uh oh.heh.. nice."kids stop playing with your food!"

Solve : Youtube in Hd??

Answer»

Yeah, it is finally in Hd-but not very good hd.  I don't even think it is 720p.  Anyhow, it is still good quality for youtube.

Here's my favorite video on there in hd:      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zvCUmeoHpw

What's yours?

You know, I have seen very VERY few HD videos on Youtube. I have seen a lot of videos with "Watch in High Quality"
Actually, for a long time, Youtube KEPT copies of the ORIGINAL videos, so once they finished the High Quality feature, all videos could be "Upgraded", in a sense. Clever idea. They had been planning ahead, I like the fact that Google does that.
I see a lot of watch in HQ too.  Ive only seen about 2 hd ones including that one.  Really cool! Think how long that must of took to render!  Its a little laggy though but very hq for youtube.actually, if you type hd in the search box, it brings up videos, but also it brings up a channel with only hd videos.  there are a few pages, not many, and not really anything good.  Give it time.  They will improve.Isn't that a bit too round to be an asteroid?Actually, no. If asteroids weren't hit by other astral objects they would all become round eventually due to their own gravity, that's why planets and stars are round because it is the best way for the matter to get closest to the center of gravity.Interesting theory.....

It looks like a moon though. Quote from: CARBON Dudeoxide on January 22, 2009, 01:47:25 AM

Interesting theory.....

It looks like a moon though.
He's right you know.
Where were you during 9th grade science?

It looks like a moon, since, in that scenario, that asteroid had been hit by a larger asteroid which probably either broke off, or became part of it, making a large crater, much like our moon, something crashed into it at one time, its theorized that the moon might have actually crashed into the earth, "bounced" back off a bit, and started orbiting the earth. Pluto is square actually...
That's the real reason it got booted.Okay fine, I can't watch HD Youtube. Just trying to make myself feel better.......awe don be so hard on your self....blame ur pc.  Heres what I did with my old lappy....  Shut absolutely everything off-including all antivirus STUFF(i know) and then open firefox and try hd.  it will be choppy, but wtvr..

haha go ahead and try if yu want to.

I figured, why waste resources and watch it in HD when you can watch it perfectly on LD.haha so true!

Solve : taskbar problem?

Answer»

I have a problem. Some how today, my taskbar has MOVED to the top of my screen. I can't get it back to the bottom where it belongs. I've tried unlocking the taskbar and dragging it but it doesn't move. Is it possible that someone has hacked into my computer and can change settings? I'm not sure if I'm losing my mind or if things have really been moved around. If it is possible, how do I fix it and get rid of whoever it is? I've run every scan I can think of and they all come up clean.

Thanks for any help you can give,

Solve : Gotta love PETA?

Answer»

I think Peta has totally gotten off TRACK from what they stand for.

http://www.kfoxtv.com/news/18704797/detail.html#-

Which one of the below does PETA stand for??

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals

People Eating Tasty AnimalsPeople for the Ethical Treatment of Animals but the other sound plausible too hehe well i suppose what they did was to attract attention from the people in Texas seeing as they are probably the "least-animal friendly" state, but i dunnoSome people have WAY too much time on their hands...OK so I made this into a poll to see what we should start calling PETA.

Yeas Patio I do have way too much free time on my hands. Possum Eatin Time Association.

Another possiblity is:

People for the Ethical treatment of alka-seltzer

You throw it in the cup, it is torn apart by the hungry piranha that is Oxygen, and a person drinks it. Is there any crueller death? (I can think of one, drowning in a giant tub of alka-seltzer. That stuff HURTS when it goes up your nose...)

I think some of these people don't realize that the Human body is designed as an omnivore. If they don't want to eat meat, that's FINE, but to actually try to say it's healthier is ridiculous- In order to get the same nutrition using only vegetables as a meal containing meats requires a lot of planning and knowledge about the nutritional VALUE of plants.

And of course as you've said mroilfield they are DEFINITELY going off-track with what they believe. People might mistake it for a same-sex rally...
Every one is so obsessed with animals being used for food...
Has anyone listened lately to the anguish in a head of Broccoli being de-capitated ? ?
I thought not...that reminds me of that quote.

"if trees screamed, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? Maybe, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason."Ahh yes. Trees.

In FIFA Confederation Cup final, they're leading Brazil 2:0 at the half-time.
What's more important, they've been playing some excellent game. No weak spots, so far.Unfortunately, it didn't happen.
You SIMPLY can't think, that in today football, you can be leading by two goals at the half time, and the game will be won.
You can't think like that especially facing top teams like Brazil.eh football is a waste of time and money.....blech!There is no obligation to follow it, however it doesn't change the fact, that it's sport #1 in 95% of all world countries.Well USA are a good team so it doesn't surprise me that they were leading at half time, what was the final score (if you don't mind me asking?)Brazil won 3:2Oh thank you very much. You mean to tell us that more than two goals get SCORED per team in football??

Quote
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – Two monorail trains crashed early Sunday morning in the Magic Kingdom section of Walt Disney World, killing one train's operator, emergency officials said.

Disney said it was the first fatal crash in the monorail's 38-year history in the park.

The transit system, which shuttles thousands of visitors around the sprawling resort each day, was shut down while authorities investigated the holiday weekend wreck.

The monorail operator died at the scene of the crash, which happened around 2 a.m., said Bo Jones, deputy chief for Reedy Creek Fire Department. The other train operator was uninjured, but was taken to a hospital because he was emotionally shaken. Jones said five park guests were treated at the scene, though the Orange County Sheriff's office said six were treated.

"To see the accident, to see the scene of what had happened and the fact that there was a life that was lost, it was very sad. It was very somber," Jones said.

Disney's senior spokesman Michael Griffin identified the driver as 21-year-old Austin Wuennenberg. Griffin would not discuss how long Wuennenberg had been with Disney or the circumstances surrounding the crash. Disney officials also declined to discuss how the monorail system operates.

"They are extremely rare," Griffin said of accidents at the park. "The safety of our guests and cast are a top priority above all else."

It is unclear what caused the crash, Jones said. Orange County Sheriff's officials are investigating.

A spokeswoman for STETSON University in nearby DeLand confirmed that Wuennenberg was a student at the school. A woman standing in front of Wuennenberg's home in Kissimmee declined to comment Sunday afternoon and directed questions to Disney officials, saying the family wanted "private time to grieve."

One of Wuennenberg's former Stetson classmates, Brandon Ross, said the 21-year-old had scheduled his classes around his Disney job and took precautions if he was working a night shift. Ross said his friend would make the hour-long drive from DeLand to the Orlando AREA the day before his shift so he wouldn't be tired when he operated the train.

"He seemed to be a pretty safe person," said Ross, 22. "He's not RECKLESS at all."

Wuennenberg studied computer science, said Ross, who sometimes asked for his help on school projects and called him smart and talented. "He was really good with computers."

Jones said the crash happened at the park's ticket and transportation center. About a dozen guards wearing blue Disney security UNIFORMS guarded the monorail station Sunday morning and prevented visitors from approaching.

Griffin would not comment on a video posted on the Web site of Orlando TV station WKMG. The clip, apparently shot by a guest at the park, shows a man pounding on the door to the driver's compartment after the crash.

"This is such a close-knit community," Griffin said. "Our hearts go out to Austin's family. It's a sad day here."

Catherine McKenna, 45, and her family were visiting the theme park from Ireland. The family had planned to use the monorail to travel to the Magic Kingdom last Friday but said they were told the train was broken. They took a ferry but returned on the monorail later that day.

"It's very sad," McKenna said. "You would be very afraid to use it again."

Disney spokeswoman Zoraya Suarez said the park had boosted other forms of transport — such as ferries, boats and buses — for visitors Sunday.

"Our guests are getting around fine," Suarez added.

Seventeen-year-old Ethan Meus, visiting from Dubuque, Iowa, said he and his family took the monorail to dinner at a resort hotel Saturday night. Meus watched the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the monorail on the way back to his hotel and said he didn't notice any problems with the train.

"It's pretty shocking to hear that a driver was killed," Meus said.

"You would think it would be so safe," said 20-year-old Lauren Shoebottom, who was visiting the park from London. "You don't expect it on holiday, do you?"

Griffin issued a statement offering condolences to the employee's family and saying the monorail was closed.

"It's a bit shocking," said 22-year-old Danielle Williams, of London. "Disney seems so perfect."
I know! I was considering that when I heard about it myself!

What do you think?
List as many, as you want.

My nominees:

1. ALIEN(s) (all)
2. Terminator (all)
3. Pitch Black.

I have one more. I'm not really sure, how it is, but I WATCHED it when I was really YOUNG, and I was very scared:
Planet of the Apes.Well you must first understand my reference some what different than yours as I am much, much, older than you.
#1. The Day The Earth Stood Still
#2. Close ENCOUNTERS Of The Third Kind
#3. Star Wars. the first three, pure fantasy but THOUGHT provoking. The next three Ugh! I am somewhat predjudiced for Star Wars as one of my nephews was a graphic artist for Lucas Films.

I quite liked the old Star Wars films. If I had a choice, I would watch the last three instead of the new ones.

As for the best Sci-Fi Movies, I'm just going to list what I can come up with now.
 - Star Trek (TNG Movies + 2009)
 - The Fifth Element
 - Star Wars (all)
 - Terminator
 - Transformers
 - Back to the Future
 - Iron Man

That's why I was down there, something was blocking the FLOW. I was expecting some kind of giant 20 tentacled demon, but instead encountered something FAR worse.Cool!

http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/story?id=7995316&page=1You should see some of the stuff that comes out of the sewers here. Heck, you should just see some of the waterways here. I'm going to lunch. I'll see if I can't SNAP a picture while I'm out.  Lunch... And your going into the sewers...? Have fun man... You must live on the other side of the globe, it was 1:25AM here when you posted.Yeah, I'm in Thailand. Just snapped this. It's the 'klong' (canal) behind my office. This is what they typically look like. Yes, the water really is as black as it looks.

Just to the right, but not in the picture, is a small restaurant. No, it isn't where I had lunch!

That beige building in the background is the food prep area for another restaurant.

Hey guys. I got huge news (at least for me). I got my first CELLPHONE!!

The phone is called the Samsung VICE.  It's getting activated today. My mom has a special deal because with the Federal Gvt. and she gets 50% off a plan.

200 normal minutes
Unlimited evenings AND weekends
7 c/min long distance in Canada (as opposed to 10)
15 c/min long distance to USA (as opposed to 20)
15 c/text message (including incoming, but I can add unlimited for more)
5 c/kb Internet OUCH (unlimited is 10$ more per month)
FREE Call Display
FREE Voicemail

And a whole bunch of other stuff. I have to see the whole list.

And did I mention that all that is $12.50 per month?

So, when I get the call on my cell that it's been activated, (here's where I need your help)
WHAT SHOULD I DO FIRST?

Is this a joke?

You answer it the call...I'd be reading the manual while waiting for activation...this should give you a head start.
You may want to start collecting your contact info...calling someone and then saving the # is quicker than entering everything manually... Quote

When he says "yes", ask him how he walks around with those things. yer killin me today jj....Aparently the guy who I got it from didn't program it, so I called them up and a better worker lead me through the programing. I then did the test call and it worked!OK, now call the bowling alley.  Then call the drug store or tobacco shop and ask if they have Prince Albert in a can...

Congratulations!heh, he's gonna have no clue what you mean... Quote from: BC_Programmer on August 25, 2009, 04:20:33 PM

Solve : Happy Birthday Dead Reckon.?

Answer»

Happy Bday ,

I know you have been keeping away for quiet some time now! But still wanted to wish you a happy Birthday.

Have a kick *censored* day! Happy birthday man. Let me buy you a beer

By the way, did you ever get that van running?Happy birthday!!!
The van didnt run? I thought it didThanks, and, you'll have to hold off on that for another year JJ, I'm only 20. As for the van, yeah, it runs, but I've probably scrapped the idea of buying it from my grandma. I am, however, going to get a 50CC motorcycle to get back and forth to work on 'til i can sort out getting my license, and a car. I'm probably going to go with a junkyard special for around $200-400, may need work, may be fine for a while, may need a miracle to fix. Either way, I want to find a early 80's Oldsmobile cutlass. Nice car, fits me, I'll set it up with a Oldsmobile 307 5.0L V8,  a three speed automatic with overdrive, posi rear diff, aftermarket racing grade suspension and brakes, factory 15" rally wheels, probably paint it black. It'll be nice, I'll drop a aftermarket high performance carb on the 307, replace the pistons with aluminum ones, find some HO heads from a 1986 block. It'll be sweet, it'll take a few years to build though. Gives me time to work on getting my license.

Oh, here's the 50CC motorcycle I'm getting

and here's some info on it:

http://www.roketa.com/product/2628/0/27651.shtml

Its a Roketa MC-56, legally it has to be "under" 50cc to be a moped, but I don't really care. The police around here will shoo away when I say its 49cc. I plan to get me a new black denim jacket soon, so I should be fine riding in the winter. It rarely gets below 30 here in the winter. Heck, Christmas of 07, it was 70F out, and this is the state of VIRGINIA, not Florida or something. For some reason I thought you were down around Roanoke. I could have sworn you said something about working at a computer shop there. Roanoke is about an hour or so away from my house. It gets *censored* cold here in the winter! Right now it's 56 outside and it's only the first of September. Quote from: JJ 3000 on August 31, 2009, 11:05:32 PM

Salem, actually, from Roanoke County though. Heh, MAYBE when I get that motorcycle I'll have to bug you. Anything is better than sitting around here and I love traveling. The weather here is bizarre, I don't know if its the mountains or what. Its just strange, really strange. Currently its about 65F according to wunderground. If your from Eastern VA, or the east in general, your closer to the ocean, air is colder out there. I noticed that when I went with my father to Petersburg to pick up a ceramic KILN with him. Still snow out there, here? HAH! It was like, 60F here, and only about 40 over in petersburg. That was in uh, 2008, late 2008. Or early 2009? Gah,  I don't know. Whatever the case, that was an eventful journey. Found out his 1986 Oldsmobile custom cruiser still has no problem getting up to 80+MPH. We took route 460, I think people confuse it for the Autobahn. Speed limit is 70-75 and there doing 95+MPH. We did 75-80 nearly the whole trip and they where passing us like we where standing still. Another thing, eastern VA also lacks road signs. I don't know if people steal them or if they ever existed, but  my father and I got flat lost out there. Oh, forgot to mention, I'm buying a 5" Tanto blade Ka-Bar fighting knife soon with the money I got for my birthday. This knife:

Ka-Bar Short Black Fighting Knife 5"You have to watch on 460. There are speed traps. There are several places where the speed limit drops to 45 or 50 for a few miles while you are going through certain parts.

Anyway, that's a cool bike. I really like the paint job and the front wheel. What's the top speed on that thing?I think around 60, "legally" i can't go over 35, but I can just play stupid with that law. I had to dig to find it, and I doubt the cops even know it. If you notice, the link says "Terminator Motorcycle" in it. Quite funny, a terminator wouldn't use that thing. It only takes about 388LB's. I hope the front wheel isn't flimsy, it kinda looks it. If it is, I think I can get a replacement. The only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't have a cargo box like mopeds, but mopeds cost as much as it, more usually, so its good.

Here's a video:

Roketa MC-56

And if I can't get one in black, I'll get in blue like this:

That reminds me of the first GUITAR I ever had. I got it for Christmas when I was 13. It was a "Terminator". It was really crappy but I loved it. It had a little speaker built into the BODY and it was powered by a 9 volt battery.

Anyway, you could just get a backpack to carry your stuff while you are riding.Happy Birthday and good luck on the bike. Watch out for the crazy people though not paying attention to bike drivers, know of a few people who've died in bike accidents.Yeah, I'll use my laptop bag, its a bookbag, as for the crazy drivers, i'm gonna find out if its battery is 6V or 12V and get a horn for it. I'll have to wire it. I assume the bike has a standard ground, if that's the case it'll be easy to wire. You're gonna use one of those MUZZLE's  right?  56 fahrenheit = 12 degrees celsius

heck, that's t-shirt wearin' weather!
