100 J of heat is produced each second in a 4 Omega resistor. Find the potential difference across the resistor.

Answer»

SOLUTION :H= 100 J `, R= 4 Omega t = 1 ` sec .
`H=I^(2) Rt`
`I^(2) =(H)/(Rt)`
`I = sqrt((H)/(Rt))=sqrt((100)/(4xx1))=sqrt((100)/(4))=sqrt(25)=5` Ampere.
Now V= IR
V=`5xx4`
V= 20 V.

Prove the following statement : A rainbow is the combined effect ( an exhibition ) of the refraction, dispersion , and total internal reflection of light ( taken together ) . OR With neat labelled diagram, explain how the formation of rainbow occurs.

Answer»

Solution :1. The formation of a rainbow in the sky is a combined result of refraction, dispersion, internal reflection and again refraction of sunlight by WATER dropletes present in the ATMOSPHERE after it has raineed.

2. The sunlight is a mixture of seven colours `:` violet , indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red. After it has stopped raining, the atmosphere contains a large number of water droplets. When sunlight is incident on a water droplet , there is (i) refraction and dispersion of light as it passes from air to water (ii) internalreflection of light insde the droplet and (iii) refractionn of light as it passes from water to air.
(3) The refraction index of water is different for different colours, being maximum for violet and MINIMUM for red. Hence, there is dispersion of light ( separation into different colours) as it passes from air to water.
(4) The combined actionof differentwater dropletes, acting LIKE tiny prisms, is to produce a rainbow with red colour at the outer side and violet colour at the inner side. The remaining five colours lie between these two.
The rainbow is SEEN when the sum is behind the observer and water droplets in the front.

Define the term 'volt'. (b) State the relation between work, charge and potential difference from an electric circuit. Calculate the potential difference between the two terminals of a battery if 100 joules of work is required to transfer 20 coulombs of charge from one terminal of the battery to the other.

Answer»

Solution :The term volt is the SI unit of potential difference . Potential difference is said to be 1 volt if one joule WORK is to be done to carry 1 coulomb charge from one point to ANOTHER.
(b) The relation between work (W), charge (Q) and potential difference (V) for an electric circuit is
`V=W/Q`
Given that W=100J and Q=20C
`therefore` Potential difference `V=W/A=(100 J)/(20 C)=5V`

Study the circuit shown in which three identical bulbs B_(1) B_(2) and B_(3)are connected in parallel with a battery of 4.5 V (i) What will happen to the glow of other two bulbs if the bulb B_(3)gets fused ? (ii) If the wattage of each bulb is 1.5 W, how much reading will the ammeter A show when all the three bulbs glow simultaneously. (iii) Find the total resistance of the circuit.

Answer»

<P>

Solution :(i) Other bulbs will glow with same brightness.
(II) When the bulbs are in parallel, wattage will be added (4.5 W) and the AMMETER reading would be
`becauseI=(P)/(V) = (4.5 W)/(4.5V)= 1.0 ` Ampere
(iii) Since ammeter reading is 1.0 ampere RESISTANCE of the combination is `(4.5V)/(1.0A)= 4.5 Omega`

Answer»

Solution :In the above three pictures three incidences are shown.In the first picture the boy who is TALKING his lunch is shown.He is busy with his mobile while having his good.in SECOND picture a young man is talking selfie while standing in the busy road.He is not aware of the approaching car too In the third picture some men are TAKING picture of the accident that has recently happened .The person is injured and bleeding ,But these men are busy in photographing him. All the three pictures are showing irrational and improper behaviour.we should respect the food while eating.we should eat in a disciplined way .Standing in the middle of the road and taking selfie is like inviting the mishap. Selfie TAKEN in such circumstances usually results in an accident .In the last pictures the sensitivity and the humaity to save the victim is lacking.If the victim is immediately rushed to hospital,his life can be SAVED. Instead of halping the victim ifpeople ae engrossed in taking pictures ,then it is absolutely wrong.
