I am trying to book a DOMAIN on godaddy but it's showing £ and not able to make payment.

How to change £ to $ ?What country are you in?  I'm not sure I know the solution but I suggest the following approach.  When you display godaddy.com in your web browser, look at the green GoDaddy logo in the upper left part of the page.  Just to the RIGHT of it, you should see a little globe icon and a drop-down arrow to the right of it.  Click the drop-down arrow and see what Country/Region is selected.  If not, United States - English, change it to that and see WHETHER that resolves the issue. Here are STEPS to change currency:

1) Login to goaddy account
2)Scrawl down to bottom of the page, here you can find ‘Currency’ name on left hand SIDE

3) Click over ‘Currency’ link and a drop down menu will appear, change your currency

Else you might want to change the Temporary Internet FILES and History - check for newer pages, it should be on automatic, but might be on everytime you visit, or everytime you start, which will update the entire page each time. Note if set to never, it will be quick but won't get the latest page unless refreshed. This affects all websites, not just the homepage, but the homepage will be cached regularly.

Is it possible to share a broadband connection wirelessly between two PC's in my house, when the modem is a BT voyager 105 USB. All the internet help sites say that i need an ethernet modem, as opposed to a USB one. Is this the case?

You technically could share this connection wirelessly but you would need an network card (wired or wireless) in your computer going back to the wireless access POINT or router, the modem connected to this same computer and Internet Connection Sharing running on this computer.  This also means that this computer would have to be running all the time for the other computer to get on the internet.

It would be simpler if you had an ethernet modem to plug directly into the wireless router and let the router do all the work.

I agree... From what I hear, "USB tends to give a FLAKY connection, and Ethernet tends to handle connections such as this better."

Hello guys, I need some help on how to "disable" a wordpress site from my ftp without having to delete it and then "installing" a new site in html instead.
Basically I have a personal website to showcase my works, a super simple online portfolio. At the moment it's wordpress based and I got someone ELSE installing it from me.
Now I have bought a HTML template that's more suitable for my needs and that I am customising - once it's all done, how shall I PROCEED with the replacement without messing EVERYTHING up?
Is there anything I should keep in mind or setting up, before doing so?

For me, it would a lot easier than to change some parts of the website without knowing it everything will work after that. In general, replacing WordPress with just HTML is not a good choice. 

The better choice is to move WordPress to smother folder on the server.
But I suspect yu will have TROUBLE doing this.

How do I "lock" the pages from changing at all after published? Using Aol if you maximize the screen it looks normal, when you minimize or DRAG the arrows and shrink the width of the page the text changes to try to fit inoto whatever size you make the screen. Using Internet Explorer you will notice it if you use the arrows to change the size of the screen.

I have only very basic knowledge of CSS and I'm trying to put together a site for fun. I'm trying to make it so there are two images of columns going down the sides of the page. I have pictures made of the bottom and top, as well as the middle section.

I fixed the IE issue with the following code

i need a SOFTWARE to count the NUMBERS of html tags in a WEB page.

And also it will give details of COUNTING howmany times a particular  TAG was used in a page.

I haven't done any coding in about 8 or 9 years, and even then I was only good enough to be dangerous so please bare with me.

I am creating a web site for a new business my son and I are opening. Since I haven't done coding in a long time I decide to just get a free web template and use that as my starting point. The template I selected has style sheets and JS and JS has always been my arch enemy.

Anyway I have created the site and and having multiple small issues. It will for the most part display correctly on MINE and my son's laptops, but when I bring it up on my Lenovo Tab 4 8 or on my Android phone, the back ground image (drone/planet with drone also) is moved to the left so that about 1/4 of it does not show on the page and there is a bare spot all the way down the page.

Any help with this would be great. None of the links other than the place holder pictures are functional yet. I wanted this page working correctly before I moved on.

I have a working copy at etaim.com if anyone could see what I am doing wrong I would be forever in your debt. I have been at this for over a WEEK trying to make it display correctly on the tab. The tab will be with me at all times and I need it working to show prospective customers.

Doug As for why it's not working - I can't dive into the code of your site. But if you're designing a site for a wide array of devices, make sure to take advantage of the developer tools in your browser, which can render your page as if your browser were a mobile device.

This will help you to immediately see how your site appears on DIFFERENT devices after you make changes to your code.

You've already set #lmenu ul li to display inline, therefore you can't set the width of that element.  Any browser that complies with your width specification is breaking CSS; Firefox is BEHAVING as it should.  Set the width at the DIV level, not at the LI level.

I'm developing a page for my COMPANY's intranet.  Here's what I'm trying to do.  From the main page, users will open a pop-up window where they ask and question or submit a comment.  They they click a button that sends the message, using the MAILTO action.  

So far, no problem.

However, when they click the button, I WANT the pop-up window to close, and a new popup window to open.  (The new window will say something like, "Thanks for sending your comment, and someone will get back to you soon.")  In the new window, there will be a Close button.  The main page, of course, is still open in the background.

I have checked many sites, and researched this as much as I can, but I cannot FIND a script that says, "Close this page, and open this other page."

I'm sure someone has done this before.  Do any of you have coding to SHARE?  Thank you in advance.Think ASP.

But a window pops asking for OK to close the window, how do I eliminate this window - so the page will close when clicking on the BUTTON, without any further questions?

I know you can use Google Drive to SHARE large files, but you can also just attach them to an email. I want to HOST large files on a website. Does Google Drive give you the bandwidth for that? if not, What is the best/easiest way to go about it? 

What are some good hosting companies that let random people download your file from your website at at least 1 MB per second? I tried hosting them on GoDaddy because that is where I registered the domain for my site, and it turns out they give you about 10 KB per second. The files are 30-50 MB in size.

Some hosting sites forbid you do do much public downloading. So you may have to use a service that offers some kind pf file sharing service.

My advice is to find a hosting company AND a file sharing company. Do a Google search and find they are different animals.

Yeah, you can host large files with Google Drive but then again, Google won't be able to scan if there are viruses in it.

If you are planning to upload the file onto a website and have other people download the file from the website, then you can try the hPage website builder. They are also able to host really large files and you can also create a free website on their platform. You can then store your files there and upload them on the website you CREATED. It's easier that way, IMO. It's a website host and file sharer in one.

First off, i'd like to state that i am running Ubuntu MATE 18.04 on my desktop without any problem.

I decided to build a new Premiership football league table using the 'Pluma' text editor. But the pluma text editor WOULD use black squares on the end of each HTML5 TAG which i didn't like and because
i didn't know how to remove them (the black squares), i decided to uninstall pluma and install Gedit instead. But whilst trying to use gedit it keeps on stalling. I can type a letter or an icon
and it won't appear for at least 10 seconds or more and sometimes it won't appear at all.

Whilst browsing the Internet or typing this topic there is no problem. The problem only occurs when i am trying to use the Gedit text editor. Could SOMEONE tell me what is going on here please
and how i might resolve this problem. Thanks all Gedit is designed for the GNOME desktop environment. pluma is the fork of that same application which is reworked to function on the MATE desktop environment.
Gedit will still launch but will work incredibly SLOWLY because it is pretty much constantly encountering errors and timeouts trying to access the gnome session manager. That cannot be fixed. (Or- rather, it was fixed- that is why pluma was created!)

hey im having a issue with my website RECENTLY when loading it in firefox..<BR>
the page is supose to refresh every 15 minutes when loading 20 frames within it lately i been getting emails regarding firefox presenting a resend data button when the page is trying to automaticly refresh itself via javascript

I'm in WEBDESIGN not very good 'cause I'm using WYSIWYG design tools.
Q in title I tried never manually.

So, how to use own, selected font to displaying text on page?
Page is text only, near not formatted, simple info page with active hyperlinks only.
Needs the font to be in web root folder and link it in code? Or how?
Best way is for me in simple HTML, no any CSS, JS or so - if possible.

Simply, you create a seperate file (I normally call it 'default.css') with your STYLES, classes and ID's (READ a tutorial for all that) and put a little link in the section to the file.

No need for the tag anymore, as anything in the will be exactly as was defined in the stylesheet.

If it sounds complicated, it really isn't. So long as you know a bit of HTML, the idea and philosophy behind it won't be too bad. There are loads of tutorials avaliable on the net, but I quite like the various tutorials at www.webmonkey.com and www.elated.com

I'm BEGINNER in HTML and webdesign generally. I was using always WYSIWYG editors.

I tried to create responsive TITLE page with menu which items are not text, they're images.
All what I used I found on the web.
Background is responsive - always fills browser window.
Menu is on the right side and items fading in/out on muse over.
Problem:
When I declare not position, all is near CORRECT, but items are near at same place in vertical range.
Also, when I resize window to smaller than first item (it is most wide), smaller items are bigger.
When I declare position, their responsibility is away - fixed on their positions and in small window even scrollbar appears.
What I want?
I want to have items in menu one under other with small space.
I want to make items HEIGHT same also when is window so small that they are scaled down.

Hi everyone, I hope SOMEONE can help me, this is WEIRD.
I have (2) band websites for two musical projects that I am involved with.

As most of you know, MySpace editing is very lame, and special editing scripps are out ther to help you "JuryRig" your page.

Well I' m  not super fancy, I just use free program called "TAMING the beast";

Heres where the "weird" part come up.

I try to use the same program to help a friend to modify her page, but when go to her page to display the results, NONE of the modifications take place.

When I go back to the editing page of MySpace, where the code USED TO BE, is now FOUR DOTS!

I've compared the code that I am trying to add, to the codes that I have currently working on my other MySpaces, and the Scripps are THE SAME!!

I am totally defeated, I don't know for the life of me what is going on. has anyone else run across this, or does anyone know what I need to do do fix this?

Have you tried clearing the cache?I imagine that there's some kind of facility on the user profile that's removing scripts or something.  I don't really use MySpace, but I notice that there's an option to convert your profile to "Profile 2.0" - perhaps that has something to do with it?Also, I'm fairly sure that MySpace removes certain HTML tags from the customisation for security reasons.

My high school uses the Adobe PROGRAMS PhotoShop and InDesign to print it's yearbook. However, when we resize images in Photoshop and move them to be printed, they come out extremely pixelated, particularly if we have resized them from a larger file to a smaller one. Is there a setting that can be changed to lower the number of pixels in the picture, thereby making it less fuzzy? Please respond with any suggestions. Our deadline is fastly approaching! Where are you getting the pictures from? If you scan them, you can set the resolution (DPI) when it gets scanned. Obviously, higher number = better quality.

The problem you are having is caused by a low DPI (dots per INCH) or resolution. Most images taken from the internet are at 72dpi, however print quality images, depending on print size, may be 300dpi or more. 300dpi is the quality you most likely want for your yearbook.

Note: Changing the resolution (DPI) of the image will also change it's size. So make sure you change the size back after changing the DPI to the correct size before printing.
