Water Crisis Will Lead to the Third World War

After air, water is the most important commodity for life. Though 70% of the earth is covered with water yet an acute shortage of potable water is being felt. Scarcity of water is called water crisis.

Not only India but many other countries of the world are also facing the problem of water scarcity. There are a number of places where people fight among themselves just for a drop of water. What to say of countries, even states belonging to the same country are involved in tussles related to water, as we see Punjab checking the flow of water into Rajasthan and Karnataka into Tamil Nadu.

Shortage of anything makes people fight over it. As is the present day condition of water shortage, it is easily imaginable that a day will come when nations with an acute lack of water will attack the nations with enough resources.

It can very easily be figured out that being in extreme need of water, nobody will think of fair play and in that case Third World War will be a reality. The need of the hour is to conserve water thoughtfully.

जल संकट तृतीय विश्वयुद्ध की ओर ले जायेगा

वायु के बाद, जल जीवन के लिए सबसे आवश्यक वस्तु है। यद्यपि पृथ्वी के 70% भाग पर जल है फिर भी पीने योग्य जल की अत्यधिक कमी अनुभव की जा रही है। जल की कमी जल संकट कहलाती है।

भारत ही नहीं बल्कि विश्व के अन्य बहुत से देश भी जल की कमी की समस्या का सामना कर रहे हैं। ऐसे बहुत-से स्थान हैं जहाँ लोग एक बूंट पानी तक के लिए आपस में लड़ पड़ते हैं। देशों का तो कहना ही क्या, एक ही देश के राज्य भी जल को लेकर खींचातानी में लगे हुए हैं, जैसा कि हम पंजाब के द्वारा राजस्थान में व कर्नाटक के तमिलनाडु में जल के बहाव को रोकने के विषय में देखते हैं।

किसी भी वस्तु की कमी के कारण लोग इसके लिए लड़ते हैं। जल की कमी की वर्तमान स्थिति को देखते हुए, यह आसानी से कल्पना की जा सकती है है कि एक दिन ऐसा भी आयेगा जब जल की अत्यधिक कमी वाले राष्ट्र पर्याप्त संसाधनों से युक्त राष्ट्रों पर आक्रमण कर देंगे।

आसानी से अनुमान लगाया जा सकता है कि पानी की अत्यधिक आवश्यकता होने पर कोई भी ईमानदारी के विषय में नहीं सोचेगा और उस स्थिति में, तृतीय विश्वयुद्ध (की कल्पना) एक वास्तविकता बन जायेगा। समय की आवश्यकता है कि हम विचारपूर्वक जल का संरक्षण करें।
