Importance of Computers

Computer is a man-made machine. It makes calculations at a very high speed with accuracy. It has been called ‘mechanical brain’. The mathematical computer has made the long mathematical calculations easy & quick. It is also useful in the field of medicine & surgery. In the field of space science, computer does complex calculations. It is also being used in the Railways & Post & Telegraph Department. Astrologers use it in the preparation of horoscopes of people. Most of the examination records are kept in the computer.

Computers provide jobs to a large number of people. Software & hardware engineers, computer operators, computants, computer programmers & so on are in great demand these days. Computers extend a helping hand in curbing corruption. All, Govt. departments & private & other agencies have websites with all types of information. People can through internet receive required information. In this way, it adds transparency in the working of the public & private agencies and makes the ‘Right to Information’ easily · accessible.

कम्प्यूटर का महत्त्व

कम्प्यूटर मानव-निर्मित मशीन है। यह तीव्र गति से सही-सही गणनायें कर देता है। इसे ‘यांत्रिक मस्तिष्क’ भी कहा जाता है। गणितीय कम्प्यूटर ने लम्बी-लम्बी गणनाओं को सरलता एवं शीघ्रता प्रदान की है। यह चिकित्सा एवं शल्य-क्रिया के क्षेत्र में भी उपयोगी है। अंतरिक्ष-विज्ञान के क्षेत्र में कम्प्यूटर जटिल गणनायें करता है। इसका उपयोग रेलवे एवं डाक-तार विभाग में भी किया जाता है। ज्योतिषी लोग इसका उपयोग लोगों की जन्म-पत्रियाँ बनाने में करते हैं। परीक्षाओं का अधिकतर लेखा-जोखा कम्प्यूटर में रखा जाता है।

कम्प्यूटर बड़ी संख्या में लोगों को रोजगार प्रदान करते हैं। सोफ्टवेयर और हार्डवेअर इंजीनियर्स, कम्प्यूटर ऑपरेटर्स, कम्प्यूटेन्ट्स, कम्प्यूटर प्रोग्रैमर्स आदि की इन दिनों बहुत माँग है। भ्रष्टाचार को नियंत्रित करने में भी कम्प्यूटर सहायता करते हैं। सभी सरकारी विभागों और निजी व अन्य एजेन्सियों की अपनी वेबसाइट्स हैं, जिन पर सभी प्रकार की सूचना है। लोग इंटरनेट द्वारा आवश्यक सूचना प्राप्त कर सकते हैं। इस प्रकार यह सार्वजनिक और निजी एजेन्सियों के कार्यों में पारदर्शिता लाता है और सूचना के अधिकार की पहुँच आसान करता है।
