Solve : One Keyboard - Two Drivers? |
Answer» <html><body><p>Dell Alienware Gaming Laptop Area 51<br/><br/>I keep getting erratic keyboard operation on screen, especially noticable in MS Email, but all over, Word, PPoint, etc, where I get pauses, parts of just typed lines <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/going-1008806" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about GOING">GOING</a> missing onscreen, only to reappear <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/several-1203547" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about SEVERAL">SEVERAL</a> seconds later. Lines appearing out of sync, to then after a delay self correct, or only correct when I press enter, etc.<br/><br/>Investigating, I found I had two HID Keybaord devices registered in Device Manager.<br/><br/>Boths appear identical, both dated 21/6/2006 and 10.0.18362.1. Can't see any way to see which one is doing what, except on one the events log is completely blank.<br/><br/>Why two? Would the <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/us-243201" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about US">US</a> and UK options have the exact same but duplicated drivers???<br/><br/>I deleted one and it instantly <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/corrected-1699619" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about CORRECTED">CORRECTED</a> the above issues, and all was well for over a week. Now (suspiciously after a Windows Update) I'm back with the issues and having looked find I have two drivers back.<br/><br/>I only want the UK keyboard and I want this issue to be fixed! How <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/please-601513" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about PLEASE">PLEASE</a>?I have deleted both drivers and rebooted.<br/><br/>Two come back.<br/><br/>One is listed as "USB Input Device"<br/>The other "Intel(R) HID Event Filter"<br/><br/>Both now have info in their events logs of the uninstall and reload.</p></body></html> | |
