Solve : Saving my programs/data? |
| Answer» <html><body><p>My HDD has been corrupted and Win10 won't boot any more on C:<br/>Fortunately, I made a recovery USB and can boot with that.<br/>Disk Repair will not work for C:, but I did manage to copy all my important files to an external USB drive.<br/>I bought a <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/new-1114486" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about NEW">NEW</a> HDD, which should arrive soon.<br/><br/>My question is:<br/><br/>Can I just make the NEW HDD my Win10 "system disk" and still use the <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/old-585313" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about OLD">OLD</a> HDD for storage, at least for a while?<br/>I have a lot of <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/history-873" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about HISTORY">HISTORY</a> on that disk (including programs) that I might want to reference or access and don't want to wipe it clean if I don't have to.<br/><br/>I'm just looking for someone with experience to tell me if that is possible (to make my OLD system disk just a regular <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/data-25577" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about DATA">DATA</a> disk without wiping it).<br/><br/>Thank you in advance for any advice/experience/tips you can offer.<br/><br/>Mark JHi <br/><br/>When the new drive arrives install it in place of your failing drive. Leave the failing drive disconnected and load windows install from the recovery pen drive onto your new drive. When windows is working correctly download a copy of HD sentinel trial <a href="https://www.hdsentinel.com/download.php">https://www.hdsentinel.com/download.php</a><br/>Now you can cable in your failing drive. HD sentinel will give details of the condition of the hard drive from this you or we may be able to decide if it is ok to keep using it or to copy off the info asap. <br/><br/>As windows 10 has already been <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/activatedbr-2398305" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about ACTIVATED">ACTIVATED</a> on the computer it will re activate with a digital licence. <br/></p></body></html> | |
