Answer» Hello guys I have a slight problem. I am RUNNING a Windows Server 2008 machine, which I want to run a DOMAIN on my NETWORK. I have installed the role and ran DCPROMO to install the role, along with DNS, but I am having some problems. I have a static IPV4 address, and the static DNS address points back to the server. My Windows 7 Professional machine will not find the domain. The domain is CALLED DOMAIN. The server will find the Windows 7 computer and vise versa on the network page, but I am still having no luck!
Do I need to configure DNS after the DCPROMO wizard? Any help would be greatly appreciated. ThankyouAre you sure you called the domain "DOMAIN" rather than "DOMAIN.LOCAL"?
Are you running DHCP anywhere on this network?
Yes, you should configure DNS on the domain controller. IIRC, there's a wizard in the Server MANAGER for this.
