Solve : Corrupt login profile? |
|
Answer» Hi, Backup shouldn't solve the purpose as the files will be the same in backup also. This is not true. Every profile contains some system files, and your data files. When a profile gets corrupt, that means its system files got corrupt, not your data files. When you create new profile, it creates new system files, and then you can move old data files from old profile to a new profile. Ok, so you mean to say create a new profile and copy over the data to that ONE and then rename it to original name, right? How do i find out, which files i have to leave? i.e. the system files If that's the reason, can't i copy over the system files from some other profile to here. Click Start then All PROGRAMS now move to Accessories and then System Tools and select System Restore at the bottom. Now pick a date before the problem started (say about six weeks ago) and restore your computer to that time.Don't want to use the system restore. Many minor modifications have been done on the system during a month's time and I don't want to loose them. That should be the last option if nothing worksWhen was your last restore point?Where is the restore option is Windows Server 2003 sp2? Couldn't find itvibhor_agarwalin Quote Ok, so you mean to say create a new profile and copy over the data to that one and then rename it to original name, right? Why do you refuse to listen, and do as told? If you go to the link, Carbon provided at the very beginning of this thread, and READ, it explains everything. If you did right away, this thread would be only 3 posts long, not 13. |
