A few months ago I upgraded WIN 7 to WIN 10 every thing was alright until yesterday I ran an update since then I'm unable to access file explorer.
When I click on file explorer the screen flashes on and off for a while then the flashing stops but doesn't open file explorer.

ASUS
pro intel(r)core (tm) i5-2430cpu 2.40ghz
ram4.00gb
64bit OSx64based processor
any help would be appreciated  thanks in advance jhaddWhat happens if you go to START - RUN and type in: explorer.exe (and then click on OK)?I did this it worked fine opened and shut it several times fine then I shut the computer down restarted the computer and I was back to the same problem.
I tried run explorer.exe again but it wouldn't open this time

If not, It appears to need a clean re-installation. If you have Win 10 installation media you are good to go.Sorry about the delay in answering been having trouble getting on line.
At present I am RUNNING a full scan USING WINDOWS defender I think this will take a while.
I installed WIN 10  over Win7 how can I do a clean instal will I have to buy WIN10 media or is there any other way.

Simply DLoad the Win 10 ISO...and do a clean install...

You are already registered at MS for Win 10 if the above applies...
