Answer» My company is in the process of switching from one Active Directory server to another (both running Win2003 Server STANDARD). I have moved the FMSO roles, DNS and WINS. Everthing seems to be working fine. However I am having trouble moving the login scripts to the new server. The login script is being called from Active Direcory under each USER's profile tab - Login script field. I don't know if it is relevent or not but but when I run DCPROMO on the old server to remove AD I get a warning saying it can not contact any other domain severs.
I have searched online and per the advice of multiple POSTS I have placed a test script on the new server at the following locations.
C:\WINDOWS\SYSVOL\sysvol\inwood.local\scripts C:\WINDOWS\SYSVOL\domain\scripts C:\WINDOWS\SYSVOL\domain\scripts\inwood.local\scripts
The old server's scripts are still running without an issue. They are located at the following locations.
C:\WINDOWS\SYSVOL\domain\scripts C:\WINDOWS\SYSVOL\sysvol\inwood.local\scriptsHave you moved your machines to the new domain? Are you running DHCP? Or static IPs? Does the machine have the new DNS server listed when you run ipconfig /all from a command line?
Thanks for the reply.
I found that I had many issues with the config. Eventually I had an outside firm help me set it up.
Thanks, Scottglad to hear your all set...
