Solve : ATI 5850 Driver help - Resolution not using the full screen..?

Answer»

Hey Guys, Pretty new member here, well actually Just started.

Okay so to my problem,

I've GOT a Radeon HD 5850 - for my PC, (Custom Build, Windows7/64bit)
    4gb ddr3 Ram, OCZ
    750W therm-take psu
    ASUS P7P55D-E PRO MOTHERBOARD
    1tb internal HD (WD)
30 dollar crappy cd drive xD
in a NZXT Tempest Evo Case.

I just formatted it so there shouldn't be anything screwing it over, also

My problem is that my resolution with the updated drivers doesn't go to the bevel, there is about and inch of blackness around the screen,

And the only way to get rid of it is to DIVERT to my old drivers using SYSTEM restore. I have no clue how to fix this issue, Hence why i'm posting here.

-Running it at 1080p Resolution.
-32bit High color
-Refresh rate of 60Hz

Running it at a lower Resolution it works, eg
1680x1050
--It's just when i make it 1080p it doesn't like it. with the new drivers..
My screen is the Asus -MS236
(If that helps at all)

Attached is a picture of what is happening.

IF you know how to fix this issue, please help!

Thanks,

[recovering disk space - old attachment deleted by admin]After the format and reinstallation of the OS, did you install ALL drivers (starting with the chipset driver)?

Solve : Upgrade Drivers to USB 2.0 Help?

Answer»

I would LIKE to upgrade my USB drivers to 2.0. When plugging in devices I get the bubble that says "This USB device can perform faster if plugged into a USB 2.0 port..." Of course I do not have any 2.0 ports.

I am running XP SP3 on a Dell Latitude C840 laptop.

The attached file has a screen shot of the SETUP in Device Manager and shows my existing drivers as: "Intel 82801CA/CAM USB Universal Host CONTROLLER - 2482". a second controller has the same name but ends with 2487.

I just want some advice since I have never updated board level drivers. Is there a recommended site to perform this function? I have visited the Intel site but cannot determine the CORRECT drivers to use.

[recovering disk space - old attachment deleted by admin]It's not the drivers, it's the usb ports themselves (the hardware). You can buy add-on usb2 pci cards and INSTALL them.so for the laptop I would need a PCMCIA card, I found some for $17. Thanks. You're welcome

Thanks Daniel!! You really deserve an award   I just registered to reply to this topic.

If you google 'USB2.0-Ser!' this is the top result.

These devices are commonly (and very cheaply!) available, and becoming more common as more and more systems are produced that don't have serial PORTS on them.

So thanks to Daniel for his very helpful response, and hopefully this helps explain why so many people are finding this topic useful.

Cheers. The bumps bring to the front page very important, existential questions:

I have no idea what people's issue is with this topic, but considering the number of views it has and it basically consists of someone asking a question, someone providing an answer and then forum regulars slating anyone who says thankyou.... well, it makes you look like a bunch of tools basically.

I have no idea what people's issue is with this topic
It's because the topic's progression resembles that of a certain pattern of spamming.

Quote from: daniel_ on June 17, 2009, 10:51:52 AM
Hi!

I had the same problem.

A lot of spam starts out this way. Usually it will just say something like "tell me if you find a solution" and then say "BUY *SPAM*!" or whatever underneath as a spam link.

Quote
I googled and found the solution here : http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic112380.html

So far so good- links to another forum where somebody found a solution. Notice however that the one post that provides t he relevant info is from another Poster with a single post. There is a pattern emerging.

Why would somebody spam forums with a link like this? Unless, say, the executables were infected. I don't doubt there was an original file that contained the drivers, but I would be highly suspect given the circumstances of wether the linked file truly is "safe".

One of the frequent posters there reposts the file as an attachment, for example; the attachment is 127K... the file on the linked url is a good 159K. One wonders what the extra space is from. (could either be from a different set of files entirely or the files are different... I'd check but I don't have a techspot account, oh well). It could of course be from an update or something. (I'd be inclined to believe that, as it appears to have x64 drivers as well)

Additionally, we have seen this ALOT. Although personally I didn't really see anything strange (call me a cargo cult poster, I suppose), nor do I believe it quite fits the pattern. Usually somebody will be both the person requesting help, and then they will also provide the "solution" via a spam link; then in order to make it seem more authentic they also post as other people who are saying how well it worked or thanking them. I don't think it meets this particular pattern because the link is not an "obvious" spam-link (a forum link and a link to a file) so unless the file is, say, infected (no idea, I don't think so) it's highly unlikely that's what happened here. It's just a very common behavioural pattern and unless somebody is watching and reading the topic very closely it's very difficult to tease apart the truth from the spam (in a sense). I now believe this is a fully legitimate topic

If in fact you people are really... not spammers... or something, and truly did need the driver and it now works, then excellent news! It's rather atypical to have a first and only time poster provide something so helpful and never return, is all, and the topic started to smell rather fishy.

googling for "USB 2.0SER" brings up quite a number of other forum posts. This forum post appears nowhere on the first page. (it does appear with a ! though), (I guess that is in the error msg...)

I downloaded
http://www.winchiphead.com/download/CH341/CH341SER.ZIP ,installed the driver and it worked for me !

Good luck.
[/quote]The name of the device is 'USB2.0-Ser!', with the exclamation mark.  That's how it shows up in device manager, in the bubble that pops up to say 'device did not install correctly' etc... I guess a lot of people do what I did and type that exact text (including the exclamation mark) into google.  This thread is the first result.

Anyway, for anyone else who gets here this way:

The driver given in this thread didn't work for me personally, although it is the 'correct' driver for this device.

The device is also known as a 'CH-340' (that's the name of the USB->serial chip I guess).

There's a thread here: http://www.davesdrivers.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=130 that has more drivers linked, but in all honesty this device is a POS and you should probably invest a little more in a better device based on something like the FTDI usb->serial chips.

Solve : ASUS M9A laptop - vmicro usb camera driver problem?

Answer»

Ok..  I was given an old M9A to fix up..  it had a chinese version of XP on it so I wiped the disk and installed english version of XP pro..  there were a few unknown devices but did manage to find what they were and install the drivers for them.. but the camera driver wasn't there and it didn't list any other unknown devices..  I figured out that it was a vmicro usb camera, installed the driver for it and the camera worked.. the device was listed under imaging devices.  now here's the problem. the camera driver doesn't seem to "stick"  .I lose the driver on reboot and then I sometimes can't install it again..  Oh I should mention that trying to install the driver via the installation program doesn't ever seem to work.. I have to install manually.

I have two versions of the driver but they both do the same thing. the one  I have installed at the moment is listed in device manager as usbvm321, driver date 10/24/2005, driver version 321.1.1024.34

I'm thinking that maybe the camera hardware is faulty..   sometimes It'll say.. usb vmicro camera found .. and I'll have to install the driver.. I thought maybe it was a intermittent usb cable for the camera  but when it's working I can move the display around and the camera doesn't drop out.. only seem to lose  the driver on a reboot.

I don't think I've ever seen a device just GO missing from the device manager, it's got me puzzled.

a bit more history ..  the girl the got the laptop from said the camera never worked and she always used an external one..  I've had the display apart (I NEEDED to replace the backlight in the LCD screen)  everything "LOOKS" ok (camera/wire)

any advice you can offer will be appreciated..

edit: I guess I should put in that the OS is xp pro - sp3 with all MS SECURITY updates and mobo and other drivers done from ASUS siteDownload and run the uninstall tools:
http://www.vimicro.com/english/product/PublicDriver/WIN/Uninstall_Tools.zip

Then DOWNLOAD and run the their chip type detector:

That should identify exactly what model the camera is. You can download the driver from:

Solve : wireless driver problem help!?

Answer»

Hi,
I'm trying to repair my dad's laptop and I need your help guys!
Wireless just won't work! the message reads:
"Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless Software version 10.1.0.2 does not support Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection device driver version 12.4.4.5.

Please update to the driver to one of the following version:
10.0.0.X;10.1.0.X

or update Intel(R) PROSet Wireless Software to one of the following versions:
12.0.0.X;."

The TROUBLE is that I have tried updating both and it doesn't work. I have uninstalled wireless driver completely and installed again from Intel CD and the problem is still there.

Some info about the laptop itself just in case you need it:
Acer Aspire 5633WLMi, OS Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3.
I have also tried in Device manager right click to update network adapter used CD and still no resolution.

HELP??
Get the wireless chipset drivers DIRECTLY from Acers site...This is assuming XP came with the COMPUTER. If it had Vista and you're DOWNGRADING you will not get the drivers this way.

Didn't see the exact model, but would imagine it'd be classified on the site under the 5600 series. The direct link to the Intel chipset drivers, which should have the Wireless software is at the below link.

Solve : Gateway MT3423 switched to Windows XP and no drivers?

My Gateway MT3423 had Windows Vista.  After it crashed I decided to install Windows XP Pro.  Now I dont have any drivers for my wireless card and other devices on my Laptop.  Gateway only has the drivers for Vista.

ny suggestions or help?Yes. Reinstall Vista.just worked out a similar problem with an ACER laptop.
it didn't come with a os cd, so I re-format with one from my desktop, but then I didn't have any of the drivers. It took me all day (thankfully I had another computer beside me, so I could look for the appropriate drivers on the internet), but it's all good.
I think next time ... have the drivers ready before the re-format.

That is the most logical course of action. If there are no XP Drivers, put Vista back on.I have the same problem now with a gateway ML3190 and I can't put Vista back on because they never SENT me the disk and I am out of warranty. Does anyone know what I need to put back on or how I find out so I can manually search or how should I do this? Any help is so very much appreciated. Travel to the Gateway site and SEE if there are instructions on restoring the machine from it's hidden restore partition...
In future it's best to start your own Topic so it can recieve the proper attention...

Hi to all.

2.Does anyone know where i can download DirextX/Direct3D 11?

Thanks

Matt

Nvidia PhysX requires a NVidia PhysX enabled GPU or PhysX card. It won't work with ATI, being that the ATI cards don't have physics processors.

2:) you can't download DX11. It comes as PART of windows 7.Well I find that weird because whenever i downloaded the Nvidia PhysX driver, it installed perfectly fine and didn't say anything about not having a physx card or anything.

Also, I never got DirectX 11 with windows 7. I found that out by going into the control panel and navigated to programs>uninstall a program and directx 11 wasn't in the list.

So does that mean that DirectX 11 is also a piece of hardware??? Because since there was no directX 11 program LISTED in the uninstall a program list, i installed directx 10.

So if I have accidentally overwritten the driectx 11 driver, how do i get it back?

Help is much appreciated.

p.s. Sorry for this much information.

Matt Windows 7 comes with DX11. you cannot uninstall it because win7 won't work at all without it.

DX10 isn't a redistributable, to my understanding, and only comes with Vista. If your COMP is still working you probably didn't overwrite dx11.

the physX driver probably simply doesn't check to see that there is compatible hardware. So that means that DX 11 is not overwritten with the DX 10 SDK that i installed. phew...

And i am just going to uninstall nvidia physx and reinstall the latest AGEIA PhysX driver.

Thank you very much for your help. It has been much appreciated.

Whoa - hold on. If it's a laptop everything changes. You have to check the website of the laptop manufacturer for video drivers.Haha yeah, That's what I THOUGHT And From the manufacturer website it's more confusing ....It shouldn't be confusing at all. There should be a location for driver downloads for your specific laptop. And since I have Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit I guess I just select the Windows vista as OS, because other options are win 7s or win vista 64 bit? That would be correctIt worked fine installing the first graphic driver, but when i try to INSTALL the intel graphic driver i get the error, '' computer does not meet the requirements '' ?! help!I don't know what the "first" graphic driver is. Solve : PS/2 Keyboard Drivers?

Answer»

Hello:

I have a Sony Viao PCV-7752 desktop that I just reinstalled the XP Home on.  I can't find drivers for the PS/2 keyboard ... you'd think that would be the easiest thing to find but I've looked AROUND Sony's site and ELSEWHERE.  Don't these basic drivers load at boot?  Are they specific to each type of keyboard--I've tried the Sony keyboard and a Dell?  I don't even see a keyboard in Device Manager.

You shouldn't need drivers for the keyboard. Is it not working? No, not working.  I tried attaching a ps/2 to usb adapter but it still doesn't work.  However, when I plug a usb-only keyboard, it works.  It's a neighbors and they don't have a usb keyboard.Have they ever unplugged or plugged in the keyboard while the computer was on? That can destroy the ps/2 port.

Do the lights on the keyboard flash when you first turn the computer on?

Can you get into BIOS with that keyboard? The lights do come on the keyboards (I'm testing two different ps/2 keyboards to be sure).  I can't get into bios as it requires me to press shift-F10 and it doesn't work. You say that you've just installed XP. Did you use the same keyboard to perform the install? When did the keyboard stop working? Quote

I don't even see a keyboard in Device Manager
Try going to Control Panel and look for the Keyboard SETTINGS Icon. On Hardware tab, check on Standard devices(101/102 key) is present. Device Status-->"This Device is working properly"?. Use Troubleshoot option and also you can go to Properties to check on DRIVER update option/s. Check also Power management tab for
--> Allow this device to bring out of standby(is on check?)I had to use the usb keyboard when I did the xp install because it didn't see the ps/2 keyboard.  I just tried testing the ps/2 port by attaching the usb keyboard to a ps/2 adapter and that worked.  In control panel, there is no keyboard found in the keyboard/hardware tab when I have the ps/2 keyboard attached; however, it sees the usb keyboard ... freak'n strange! So, you can get into BIOS with the USB keyboard. Right?
Try loading the default settings in BIOS.

If there is no device detected or compatible for the OS generic driver listed there is nothing to worry unless its CAUSING a start up or system crash. If you installed any drivers then uninstall it or check on your device/driver manager.

Buddy, its a new card I bought with my desktop. The driver CD with it is not working.
Have COMPLAINED the same to the STORE owner today. If it's new then he's selling you a no-name knock-off card that isn't working...

I'd demand satisfaction on the purchase or tell him he can take the machine back.

Solve : Need WIN 98 driver for TEAC CD224E CD ROM Drive?

Answer»

I have a TEAC CD224E  External CD ROM drive that is plug and play in EVERYTHING except WIN 98.  I am trying to up grade a laptop with WIN 98 to XP, but it has no internal CD drive.  "Chicken and egg" problem.  I need the external drive to do the up date, but I can't get 98 to read the CD drive unless I can put a driver in via the floppy drive.  Thanks!Welcome to computer will form. There are people here well-qualified to give you the exact answer to your question. Just be patient, they are volunteers and have nothing to gain except the satisfaction of helping you.
First of all, how did you get Windows 98 onto the machine without a CD-ROM drive?
Next question, does this machine have a floppy drive?
Also, how much free space you have on your hard drive? And what is the speed of the processor and how much RAM do you have available. Are you sure you want to up this machine to Windows XP? in my personal opinion it would be better to upgrade the machine to Windows 2000.
Yes, there is a way to get Windows 98 to recognize an external floppy disk or optical disk drive. Just wait a bit and someone will be with back here. Either me or somebody else.Computer is a Dell Inspiron 3000 laptop.  I came with WIN 98 loaded.  Has a floppy drive but no internal CD drive.
233 MHZ with 144 MEGS of RAM.  Trying to put together a low cost computer for a low income person for primarily email use, using stuff I have on hand.  Wanted to use XP Home because I have an unused one on hand and I don't have WIN 2000.  It will be a little slow with XP, but should be OK for email.  Also, 2000 seems to BECOMING more and more of an orphan.  All I need is to get WIN 98 to read the CD drive and I am good to go.  Thanks for your reply.Spend 30 Bucks for an internal drive...
Reason being not only did Win98 not have native CD drivers it also lacks support for USB...

Otherwise you could try searchinf for OakRom CD drivers...but how you are going to get them to load at bootup is another can of worms.

PS...with those specs XP is gonna be painfully slow.Yes, that sounds like a good idea. Just install a regular CD Drive.

But if youn insist, here are some more thooughts I had.

I still think Windows 2000 is a better choice for that machine to cut the processor speed and the limited amount of RAM you have available. Also, did you have some problem using Windows 98 to get on the Internet? As I RECALL, Windows 98 SP does a pretty good job on the Internet. The problem with windows 98 was a lack of drivers of the many kinds of hardware that's out there. Just because newer hardware was developed after Windows 98 and 98 SP were released.

As for being an orphan, Microsoft has many generic drivers that will work on many Windows operating systems except Windows 98. So that practically makes Windows 98 the orphan. Although some would say windows in me is the orphan. Of all that is besides the point.
Here's one method to install Windows XP, one that I've used, and I can safely recommend it to you. Here is the trick. You need the help of another computer. Which apparently you have.
What we do is somehow our remove a hard drive of a laptop and partition it so there is enough extra room for a copy of the Windows XP install.  Using EASUS or other such tool. That'll TAKE close to seven or 800 MB. Once you have done that, you would've to drive back in the laptop and booted up. If all goes well, windows 98 for come back up on a smaller primary tenet of our kitchen with an extended partition that has the Windows installation. You go into the directory that's called i386 and you're supposed to be defined a program there that will start up the Windows XP installation. Normally windows XP will start up inside a Windows 98 and do a full install. The problem is you only get one shot at this. If the installation fails the old operating system has been scrubbed. You might want to make some kind of image copy of the Windows 98 system before you put the drive back in the laptop. Just in case.
It also can be done over a network connection. Do you have a reliable net connection with Windows 98 Westmark did so, you can share the CD-ROM drive on your main computer and let Windows 98 have access to that drive. There is a way to do installation over a network, and I don't remember it that will work right under Windows 98. I've only done the operation off of a hard drive that has a copy of windows XP installation.
Somewhere this is documented in the Microsoft knowledge base, I just don't remember how to find it.
Would this work for you?

Tried to find an internal cd drive for the Inspiron 3000.  After many googles I came up with one at $128.  Far too expensive for this bare bones project.

Thanks for the suggestion Geek-9pm, but the hard drive swapping or computer to computer install of XP is beyond my abilities and time available.

I will follow up on Patio's suggestion of looking at Oakrom Drivers.  Perhaps I can get one of their generic ones to work.  Just so frustrating that this whole project is hung up over a simple driverIf anybody wants to pitch in and help, here is a do-it-yourself kit from MS.

I know this laptop will be slow with XP, but my goal was to get this done for under $20 and it looks like I can make it.

Thanks for your assitance.

Good Luck! I see a rotating hourglass in your future...If you want to run XP on that hardware and not have it lag badly and lock up with just 144MB Ram, you may want to run it in an unpatched mode SP0, SP1, or SP2 depending on which version of OEM XP Home you have.

Note: Running unpatched online is dangerous! But if you are not using it for paying bills and ecommerce and are willing to rebuild it if it gets wormed or hacked, then it can be run online without the latest service packs and critical updates. I would enable the firewall however which may not be enabled by default if you are going to use this online. But you may not be able to install an antivirus with realtime protection because you are lacking the Ram.

Just to give you an example, I have a Dell Pentium 3 600Mhz with 192MB Ram, and I have to keep it at SP2 because bringing it to SP3 and all latest patches leaves about 20MB Free which is barely enough to do anything. There is no multitasking with SP3 fully patched and 192MB Ram. It sucks it all up and lags badly to the point that its unresponsive. Leaving it at a clean build SP2, it can run about 3 applications at a time, and I have 96MB free running at SP2 clean install. BUT I would never do anything that involves personal banking etc or anything else secure on it since its a gaping hole for hacks and attacks. Instead I use it mostly offline for PERL and C++ programming and it runs nice and quick for that. It also has a DVD drive and can play movies.

If you dont need windows and need to be online securely, I'd check into installing a flavor of Linux that can run on 144MB Ram. Although most modern distros require more Ram and CPU, there are some minimal distros available. Quote from: patio on January 07, 2011, 10:00:07 PM

It has support for both. What it doesn't have class(generic) drivers for are USB Composite devices or Mass storage, which is generally the class that External Hard drives and USB-CD/DVD drives identify as.

woodyradio, try these generic USB drivers: http://www.technical-assistance.co.uk/kb/usbmsd98.php

oh... wait, I see that they've gone a different direction and actually aim to install Windows XP.

my 350Mhz K6-2 with 128MB had no problems running SP3 and doing various tasks; I would usually have at least Visual Basic 6 open if not Flash MX and Paint shop PRO as well, and I don't recall any issues. It did run much better once I upped it to 512, and then it ran even better when I halved the memory to 256MB (the motherboard could only cache the first 256MB).

That being said I would never install XP on a machine of the  given specs. That's akin to suicide.

Sorry, Allan, i'll leave you to it.  I did not have a problem but
After ihave used my machine for a long time, i will face the fact that i have to fix parts of it from time to time. Periodically, the device manufacturers will release new drivers to fix device bugs and to optimize the device. By updating my device drivers, i am able to enjoy the best computer performance.
Am I wrongYes, you are wrong

The only reason to update drivers is if there is a specific need (if the new driver addresses an issue you are having with the old driver) or if the new release introduces a bug fix or a new feature or support that you absolutely must have.

The best way to "enjoy the best computer performance" is to not worry about things like drivers and to just use "smart computing".You might consider this than having any updates as to improve your current computer performance -->

Solve : Reinstalled Vista on dell, can't get online to download drivers.?

Answer»

Hi, guys. I have a Dell INSPIRON 1525 on Vista 32bit and for some time now, It has been running slow and MAYBE I have a mother board problem but I thought reinstalling
Vista to the factory settings would be a good idea to see If that helps. So I reinstalled Vista with the reinstallation DVD. It worked but now I have a new problem.
I have problems with the dell drives. (No touchpad, Internet ect)
I open Device Manager and get a yellow triangle with an (!) on the following
Display adapters = Standard VGA Graphics Adapter
Other devices = Base System Device - Base System Device - Base System Device - Ethernet Controller - Network Controller - Video Controller
So I went to my other computer to go to dell website and put my tag number In an downloaded all the drivers to an external HARD drive.
Putting the external hard drive In the laptop with problems thinking I could double click and Install the drivers. But get the message
Application download did not succeed, check your network connection, or contact your system administrator or network service provider.
The only discs I have for my laptop are Microsoft works 9, Dell MediaDirect 3.5 and Windows Vista home premium 32bit.
I called Dell thinking I still had warranty but got told It had ran out and got put to the warranty expired people who told me my problem would be fixed In 15 minuets but would cost £69.99. I really think £70 for 15 minuets Is a bit much so hope you guys might be able to help me out.
Sorry for the long post and thank you for any help. There is no reason you shouldn't be able to download the drivers on any system. Try again. Once you're successful, install the chipset driver first followed by the others.

Remember,  you can always download the drivers on a different computer and copy them to a flash drive. Thanks for your reply.

Like I said, "So I went to my other computer to go to dell website and put my tag number In an downloaded all the drivers to an external hard drive.
Putting the external hard drive In the laptop with problems thinking I could double click and Install the drivers. But get the message
Application download did not succeed, check your network connection, or contact your system administrator or network service provider."

I really am stuck here.I read what you said. And I said it should work and you should try again. The download process from the Dell Driver Download site should be very straightforward - I've done it literally dozens of times.I can not go online with the laptop In question so I have to go online with a different laptop and put the files on a flash drive but I still can not open It In my other laptop. I have been trying for over 11 hours to sort this out but am still banging my head on the wall.

Thanks for your reply.Okay, now I'm confused. First you say you're getting an error that says the download failed and now you're saying that you can't "open it in my other laptop".

Please explain EXACTLY what is going on. Thank you. Quote from: Allan on October 25, 2010, 04:22:23 PM

Okay, now I'm confused. First you say you're getting an error that says the download failed and now you're saying that you can't "open it in my other laptop".

Please explain EXACTLY what is going on. Thank you.

The laptop In question has missing dell drivers, I can not go online with that laptop to download and Install drivers from dell so I go on another laptop to download the drivers I need and put the downloads on a flash drive. I put the flash drive with the downloaded drives to the laptop that has driver problems. The problem Im having Is when I open the downloaded files my laptop will not open them and gives me the error message.

I am hoping that makes more sence. Thanks for your reply. So you have successfully downloaded the drivers and copied them to the flash drive, is that correct?

Your next step is to copy the files to the other computer. Do not try to RUN them from the flash drive - just copy them to the laptop with the problem and then run them from the hd on that laptop.

Regardless of anything else, once the files are downloaded and you try to move them to another system, you should not see an error message that says the download failed.I had to download from a US site Instead of a UK site.
I downloaded these and and now only have 3 problems let.

Solve : Need help installing printer driver?

Answer»

I am using Windows 2000 professional. I am trying to install a Kodak ESP 5210 all in ONE printer to it. It says printer driver not installed. How can I install a driver so I can get my new printer to work?Try this, down load and install the driver..http://support.en.kodak.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/17543According to the Kodak site there isn't a driver for Windows 2000 for this printer. As mroilfield has just pointed out it certainly seems that Kodak does NOT offer drivers for the printer for the win 2000 O/S.
However  i do have some alternative suggestions which i shall list below. However as I'm sure you REALIZE finding a modern all in one printer that will be compatible with that OLD O/S will be very difficult. Now if this is the printer you must keep and use with the computer you may have a few options. But my 1st suggestion is to RETURN the printer for a full refund. I do appreciate that leaves you without a printer. You may be able to find an older printer (perhaps not an all in one) that will work with your 2000 O/S. On your behalf i did a search for alternatives. One that may work (it is claimed to do so) is to install a LINUX o/s as a dual boot and use the printer with Linux. Another would be to  upgrade your current o/s to a version of Win XP (if your computer is capable). I found a reference from a senior EXECUTIVE of KODAK that stated that Kodak printers were not currently able to function with LINUX BUT he seemed to be referring to Kodak 9xxx printers only. So if you want to try the LINUX route here is the link to the site that claims it will work.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/cupsdriverkodak/
For what it may be worth my wife is using a Brother MFC-465CN all in one printer with  Windows ME (which is even older than 2000) so that might be an option. I should caution you about that printer it is notorious for print head problems and in fact we have NEVER been able yet to get the magenta  colour to print (and it certainly appears to be the magenta print head). Hope something here will help you to solve your problem. truenorthThanks truenorth. I think I will just take it back for a refund. From everything you have told me this seems to be the best option. Thank you so much for your help. Have a great New Year. You are very welcome and all the best in 2011 to you also, truenorth

Solve : video card/driver question?

Answer»

Makes no difference whatsoever.

Before upgrading a video DRIVER don't you generally uninstall the old one? And you don't remove the video card, correct?I believe he's upgrading his video card, not just the driver.  It sounds like he just put the new card in without uninstalling the old drivers before doing so, and then installed the new software.  He also says windows is saying he has his old video card in after he put the new one in.

I'm just going by what he's saying, and it sounds like there are some details left out. Quote from: OpenSource on October 26, 2010, 02:51:33 PM

You do not need to remove your graphics card to uninstall the drivers. Let's start at the beginning

Uninstall the nvidia driver. Go to the ATI Website and download the LATEST driver for your new video card. Install that driver.

I'm not sure what else you have done, but that's all you should have to do.

In theory, that is supposed to work.  Sometimes it does.  It's pretty common though that you remove the old card before uninstalling the drivers.  The success rate of that is 100%.  Not trying to be argumentative or anything, but i've seen your method fail too many times to not suggest removing the new card before getting rid of the old software. He has an ATI card and is uninstalling Nvidia drivers. Please - stop posting the same suggestion. Quote from: OpenSource on October 26, 2010, 12:42:02 PM
(assuming you have onboard video);

1) Take out your new graphics card.
2) Uninstall the Nvidia drivers.
3) Reboot.
4) Make sure the Nvidia drivers are GONE.  You may have to run Ccleaner on your registry.
5) Turn off computer.
6) Install the graphics card.
7) Turn computer on.  Run the ATI all-in-one driver package.

If you don't have onboard video, TRY uninstalling the Nvidia drivers.
None of this is really relevant. I don't think there are any driver issues here at all.

Quote
when i got the new video card all i did was just plug it in. I never installed any drivers or anything. I bought a new computer game and went to play it and its not working so I had my friend take a look at my comp to see why and he said that my computer is saying that I have a nvidia Geforce video card and not the radeon 9800 from ATI.

When you installed the new card, XP recognized the 9800 and used the BUILT in drivers; you didn't need to install them. Either that, or it used the very generic drivers (which means you hadn't played any games other then this "new" game).

Secondly, the game probably didn't run because, as you said, it was a new computer game. The 9800 Pro is quite a few generations behind, so the new game probably refuses to run with it.

Third, your friend is clearly not familiar with On-board video configurations, and is throwing out reasons that don't make a whole lot of sense.

To confirm this, visit Device Manager (Start->Run devmgmt.msc) and see what is listed in the "Display Adapters" Tab.

Solve : BSOD error, can't install any drivers Help!?

Recently one of my older computers in my house started to act up. It started freezing and then eventually it started to show the blue screen of death with a "NVLDDMKM.sys" error (http://farm1.static.flickr.com/179/461991088_a4143c3298.jpg). This computer has had Windows 7 for a year now (before it was running Windows XP with no problems).

I tried to reformat installing Windows 7, but the same error appeared. So then FORMATTED to Windows XP and everything RUNS fine now, except that every time i try to install ANY Nvidia drivers, I get the BSOD error. Basically, the computer is running without the video card and it's really choppy without it. If I do install any drivers, I can only go in safe mode.

Any suggestions how on to fix this? I've posted this on the Nvidia forums as well.

I am not using the CD that came with the card because I don't have it anymore. I tried drivers from the Nvidia website, but none of them work. When I reformatted to Windows 7,  the installation completed but when it restarted to boot for the first time, the BSOD showed up.

With the no drivers installed, the device manager shows a yellow question mark icon for "Video Controller (VGA Compatible)" and says no drivers are installed when I go into properties. not necessarily. See this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982116

On my computer, one day, CD/DVD drive mysteriously disappeared out of the windows explorer list. I edited registry a bit and it came back.
What is new or different since the last time everything worked properly (ie, new hw, new sw, VIRUS, error, etc)? You could try here...thank you 2x3i5x ... but i STILL wasn't able to find the drive.... Quote from: patio on November 06, 2010, 06:53:02 AM

Solve : enable gameport joystick?

Answer» HELLO, I have  Gateway 2000 RUNNING Win 95. In Device manager the  Gameport joystick has an exclamation next to it . The error message I am getting is no drivers are loaded for this device. If I REMOVE  Gamport Joystick and reboot will this RELOAD the drivers for it? I have a sidewinder precision pro joystick I haven't used in a while and I ran into this problem when I tried to use it  today.

The sidewinder icon is in the tray on the desktop. SO I can't figure how the drivers became disabled.

Thanks JoeYou will need to track down Win95 drivers from the Manuf....this MAY prove difficult.
I seriously doubt  they were includrd in that ver. of Windows.

Solve : ACPI\AWY0001\2&DABA3FF&0 the drivers for this divice are not installed?

Answer»

I have HP AMD Althlon 64 Processor. Windows XP professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3.
In Device Manager: Other dievice\Unknown device.
System information: Device:not available. PNP Device ID: ACPI\AWY0001\2&DABA3FF&0
Error Code: The drivers for this divice are not installed.
I do not see any troubles with the hardware.
Do I need to worry about this issue?
Thank you for help.

Alex
If everything works fine, I wouldn't worry too much.
If you're curious, what that thing is....

1.  Open Device Manager (Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager)
   2. The hardware whose drivers are missing will appear as Unknown device, so it's easier to locate the device.
   3. Right click on the unknown device and click on Properties.
   4. Under the Properties window click on Details tab and SELECT Device Instance Id (or Device Instance Path) from the drop down box.
   5. You should see a code similar to this

      PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_27DC&SUBSYS_30868086
      &REV_01\4&1E46F438&0&40F0

   6. The portion of the code highlighted in RED is the Vendor ID and the portion highlighted in GREEN is the Device ID. In this example:

      Vendor ID = 8086
      Device ID = 27DC

   7. Once you have obtained both the IDs, proceed to PCI Database. There you can either search for the vendor from the vendor ID or directly get information about the device along with the vendor name by searching with the device ID.

   8. Then from there you can GO directly to the hardware manufactureres website and get the driver.Thank you. The information of  Device instant ID : ACPI\AWY0001\2&DABA3FF&0
I could not find vendor name and Device id. from this information.
All the best, AlexshikIt looks like "AMD AwayMode ACPI Device driver", whatever it MEANS....LOL
See here: http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=1217053I had a HP a1600n PC that had Windows XP Media Center on it and I reformatted with XP Pro and then it was giving me a Unknown Device in the Device Manager and I finally resolved the issue by going to this link-

http://dlsvr02.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/...xe/AMDLive.zip

Save the zip file and then open the AMDLive Folder then the AMDAway Folder then run Setup.

This will run the AMDAway INF Installation Wizard and will resolve the conflict in the Device Manager and then you should see under Processors:

 AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 DUAL Core Processors

Hope this helps...

Solve : Bad MoBo??

Answer»

I have been attempting to get my computer back up and running after quite some downtime..
I recently installed a local hard drive and completed the initial boot up and re-installation of Windows XP, and proceeded to DOWNLOAD and install recommended automatic Windows Updates.  After the last of a few mandatory reboots it failed to find/detec a local hard drive to boot from.  I have three total hard drives I've been attempting to install/format/boot up with no luck, which leads me to believe I have either a IDE cable PROBLEM, a mobo connection problem, a mobo problem, or any combination of the above, while certainly not ruling out any other possibilities not yet considered...Find the 1 HDD with the last succesful Win install on it...
Remove all other drives...
Use a BRAND new IDE cable...

If this works it was either the cable or your jumpering scheme with multiple drives was askew...

PS...I doubt its the MBoard...but i could be wrong.FYI - When attempting this recovery I have only had 1 HDD in at a time (with jumper settings open, no cap)
I will try replacing the IDE cable first (cheapest).. what is my next plan of ATTACK if it is not the IDE cable?Look in your BIOS and see if your HDD RAID configuration is set to AHCI or compatible.  You want to set it to 'compatible'.Stop insisting everyone with drive issues has a RAID setup...
You're losing credibility very rapidly here. Quote from: patio on October 26, 2010, 07:27:28 PM

You're losing credibility very rapidly here.

Do you have any other advice to substantiate this claim?  What a *censored*.  I deal with these issues every day.  It's not just a hobby.if the "downtime" was long enough, and the CMOS settings were lost, then yes, the SATA/RAID mode might have reverted to AHCI when XP essentially requires "Compatible" to WORK with SATA.

On the other hand, since they are Using PATA and not SATA that sort of blows that out of the WATER. AHCI is specific to SATA controllers, and is not present with PATA/EIDE controllers/devices.

TomL: Are all three of these Hard drives installed at once, or are you trying them "separately" if none of them seem to be working for this (which is of course why you are here, heh) then it's probably not a drive problem. I'd be inclined to blame the cable, myself, since I've encountered quite literally the exact same thing when I accidentally used a 40-conductor cable instead of an 80-conductor, where the drive would essentially "refuse to exist" sometimes. Since trying a new IDE cable is the cheapest option to go with that should be a good first step. Quote from: BC_Programmer on October 27, 2010, 06:11:26 AM

Most motherboards have both an IDE and a SATA controller.  If AHCI is switched on, it usually causes me problems with XP recognizing the drive. Quote from: OpenSource on October 27, 2010, 07:29:44 AM

AHCI won't cause any problems recognizing drives connected via IDE. It's a completely disparate system.

Solve : Is every hard drive same??

Hi people,

I got 2 questions to ask

1. Is every computer tower HARD driver is same? ( I don't mean the GB I mean like the size the hard drive only for computer tower)
2. Can use 2 hard drive on one computer tower?
3. Can i use those RAM for a computer tower?

Your asking about hard drives...and showing pics of RAM modules.

Hard drives are far more universal than RAM...
Most if not all HDD's will work on every system...
This is not true of RAM however,"Your asking about hard drives...and showing pics of RAM modules."

what is wrong with that?

anyway thank you for your help.

Solve : Help on BIOS for a new computer purchase?

Answer»

Wanting to buy current version of a 11.4" or 12.1" laptop . They all seem to come with Win7 64.bit OS. I saw several review/forum references that some of these 64-bit Window OS's would not boot 32-bit XP when installed, and that it was DUE to what BIOS options the laptop manufacturer chose to provide, and that the manufacturer would not provide a change. I want 32-bit XP so that I can use a workable driver for some legacy hardware that is not too OLD (HP Color LaserJet multifunction printer, CM1017 MFP). HP states they will not make a Win7 driver, and the Vista one did not work well. Would like to take off the Win7, install XP and then install Win7 in a multibood or in a virtual machine configuration. Now my questions, how to I find out if a computer for sale will boot 32-bit and/or how to contact mfg. support. I have really spent a lot of time trying to do this and will appreciate any help. I'm leaning toward one of the Acers. How are you going to buy your computer? Directly from the factory? Or from a distributor in your country?
Have you tried to e-mail directly to all the major manufactures of Laptop PCs to find out if this this is a problem on their machines? Can you please repeat exactly what Laptops that you know about that have the problem. You mention HP. But HP is currently having ISSUES with some printer drivers. Are you going the let this issue determine which PC you will buy?

HP Color Laser Jet multifunction printer
That covers a lot of ground. Sme are over $5,000 and some are under $200. IMHO, if you have an expensive printer without 64 bit drivers, you soused just stick with a 32 bit system until you have a compelling reason to switch. Eventually they will release 64 bit drivers.
The issue with a new computer is the manufacturer may not provide or have available 32-bit WinXP drivers.   The issue is not with the BIOS, but with the drivers.  There may just not be WinXP support for the computer you want. Quote from: CyberD on December 25, 2010, 05:34:24 PM

Would like to take off the Win7, install XP and then install Win7 in a multibood or in a virtual machine configuration.

This is the exact opposite of what I did. I have a Canon laser printer that only had 32 bit drivers. I specified Windows 7 64 bit on my new PC earlier this year, and I installed XP 32 bit into a VMware virtual machine and ran the Canon from there. Just over one month later Canon released 64 bit drivers.

Geek-9pm
Thank you for your reply. I have no preference on where to buy, availability of model selected and price determines it. To answer your question, I have I tried to e-mail directly, that is the second question I asked, how to do this, try to find ACER, Toshiba, ASUS, etc  sales or support e-mail address on their site, I was not able to do so, so how do you do this. HP, yes, but they are currently not on my short list.
I skim read hundreds of reviews and forum comments on such computers and only recorded a few of which ones had what problem. Unfortunately I did not note this one, just that it occurred several times and later decided that it could be the bigest problem of all and that I wanted to avoid it
I should have been more clear in my question, I did not mean to infer that HP had this probblem as I do not know. My HP comment was relative to the fact that they state on their support site that they do not intend to provide a Win7 driver for my printer – I did provide the model, CM1017 MFP. It sold in the $600-$700 range and while I don’t look forward to buying another one after less than 2-1/2 years, I like this one as it prints photos nearly as well as the better ink printers and not the low level color prints that are at best suitable for presentation pie charts and the like.
Computer_Commando
Thanks for your reply.  I believe your comments hit the crux of the problem, there are not 32-bit drivers for an XP BIOS to load for a current 64-bit machine components such as the processor HD, RAM, monitor, etc. I saw several laptops that offered a downgrade to XP PRO. After digging into this I saw that only a downgraded single-core processor was availble for this, one unit was an ACER (TravelMate 8172 with a Pentium SU2700 or Core2 Duo SU9400 both in 64-bit and Core2 Solo SU3500 in 32-bit) and the other a Lenovo (ThinkPad X Series X200 (7458-G38) which normally comes with a Core 2 Duo P8700 processor. Still don’t know what my solution is.
Salmon Trout
Also, thanks to you for your reply. My understanding of virtual machines is that the OS that is the basic one and in which the virtual machine SOFTWARE is the only printer driver that can be used. Thus, as you have done with a 64-bit as basic and virtual software on it and XP 32 bit OS in the virtual machine partition, software in the XP machine would be using the 64-bit printer of the 64-bit OS. With HP saying no 64-bit Win 7 driver for the CM1-17 MFP, I don’t know what to do.
MS has created a bit of confusion, for me at least on virtual machines. When I had Vista 64-bit that came with my current laptop, they indicated that virtual machines could be used on any version. Now with Win7 32-bit Home Premium installed, MS says that virtual machines may only be installed on Win7  Professional or Ultimate.
All drivers (including Win7 64-bit drivers) are here:  http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?prodNameId=1846084&lang=en&cc=us&taskId=135&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=1846080 Quote from: CyberD on December 26, 2010, 01:11:23 PM

I am not sure what exactly you are trying to say here, but it seems clear that your "understanding of virtual machines" is a bit incomplete.
I installed the Canon 32 bit drivers in the 32 bit XP virtual machine which I created in VMware Player. Just like I would for an actual machine.
I went into the VMWare Player settings and set the USB printer to connect to the VM on startup.

No, the XP machine uses its own printer as I have already explained above.

That is Microsoft's "XP Mode" which is given away with Windows 7 Professional, and not avaialable on Home versions.

I am not talking about that. I am talking about the free VMWare Player. Nothing to do with Microsoft.

Anyhow, this is all you need...

Solve : XP & SATA Drivers?

Answer»

um... yeah, *censored* is going on here exactly?

http://alter.org.ua/soft/win/uni_ata/

What is wrong with the PAGE? specifics, people. Just take a look at it's WOT scorecard:

http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/alter.org.ua

Nobody removed links to the Generic Mass storage drivers for Win98SE I linked to. These aren't really that much different.

On the other hand, it's best to go with manufacturer drivers, if they exist- for best performance. Usually the SATA drivers are part of the chipset driver, which you should install anyway.

It is Google that has an issue with web sites in the Ukraine.

Quote

Google Is Blocked In 25 Of The 100 Countries They Offer Products In
http://techcrunch.com/2010/04/19/google-censorship/
That article mentions the Ukraine among others.
Of course this has no direct bearing on SATA drivers.

My earlier post was based on what I found on Google. Well this was getting me to rant point. It does appear that there is some political problem with google which I must admit I have come across myself and though I have tried other searches for technical stuff they still are the best in that area. As for images dogpile and others have kept the browser friendly search.

As for the original poster...hi...my suggestion was because he wanted to make some sort of recovery disk so having a UNIVERSAL sata driver would certainly reduce the amount of drivers needed. Indeed for a similar project using windows 2000 I used a universal vga driver to give better resolution/colors on any hardware than the standard driver does for example.

regards

MikeWOW!

It seems that I at the least stirred things up a bit! Thank you all for your comments. I am too tired right now to sort all this out, but I promise that I will look at your comments more. Thanks again. All.
Forgot to mention.
Your BIOS has an IDE  to SATA emulation mode.
Windows sees the SATA as a IDE device.
Use this to bring up the SYSTEM. Then later install the right drivers.
Of course, having the right drive to start with is better.I've done some more research on my own and found someone that has COMPILED what he claims is:
"Every driver you need to slipstream Windows XP onto any major hardware platform."
He says "These drivers are often difficult to locate, so we have prepared a driver PACKAGE for the major AMD, Intel and NVIDIA chipsets of recent make.

He includes the link in this article:
 http://tech.icrontic.com/articles/slipstream_windows_xp/
(The article was written in may 2008 so it may not include the latest drivers, but hopefully will include most.)

This is the link to the driver package if anyone is interested.
http://tech.icrontic.com/downloads/slipstream_windows_xp_drivers

I am hopeful that this will at least come close to the "universal driver package" that I was looking for."Universal" so called drivers are nothing but a can of worms and can cause more issues than they're worth...
Travel to the MBoard manuf. site and DLoad and install the correct SATA drivers as i suggested...Hi,

TWAIN Drivers usually ship with the scanner/camera/multifunction device and are then used by the scanning/wordprocessing package - they are a way to make SCANNERS operate in a uniform fashion for different software packages.
I'd make sure you backup the program folder of the software that came with your device as well as the system32 folder.

Realtek High Def Audio. those are the ones in yellow. But there has been times when there are more. Also in hidden in the non-plug and PLAY drivers. ( adfs... AMPSE.....Serial) are with yellow exclamation marksAlso TWICE we have tried to download realtek and it is getting stuck about half way in, making his comp freeze
Finally got realtek downloaded and the chipset driver. Still in yellow. I dont know what we are missing. Do we need the LAN driver? Or any others.

Here is a list of errors from system information. These are the things that are having the problems. HELP PLZ... I didn't ask about system information. I asked about device manager. We called Microsoft. There are three drivers in the list I posted that shouldnt be there. The guy said meaning those are the viruses hidden in the drivers. He said we have to do a full wipe on it because trying to actually find them would take a long time. And yes. We were looking in device manager. All those listed were in yellow.
Okay. Thanks for the update and good LUCK. Let us know how things work out.

Solve : I need help with my drivers and updating?

Answer»

Hi,
I have a VERY old Sony VAIO desktop computer that I have souped up a bit over the years by adding RAM and some video cards.  It is running a program I use for trading stocks very poorly that it used to run just fine with no particular changes to the software.  I have never updated the drivers to my computers or monitors and I want to check if I have all of my drivers updated as they should be.  What is the best way of going about this?
I ran aautodetect driver update scanner and it found several outdated drivers.  The software is not at all user friendly.  I don't have any of my original software unfortunately.
I SEARCHED through the FORUMS and all I found was answers like go to the OEM. Well, that was so confusing as I don't even know where to start! I want to check the drivers to the following items on my computer:
My monitors
My graphic cards
My ethernet and other internet related items as my connection is LAGGING during high traffic times.
Please help
Thanks so much in advance Quote

Is there a particular problem concerning your computer that you need updating any device drivers?
Please post laptop model to verify if there is still a support for a particular model. Check your device manager and try clicking update drivers(hardware update wizard) on your posted devices then while searching, wait for any messages if any update is found/match for the current device driver version while internet connected. yes, like I mentioned ..it is running very poorly Quote from: delmarbd on November 22, 2010, 11:44:44 AM
yes, like I mentioned ..it is running very poorly
The likelihood of that being related to drivers is almost nil. Do not update drivers unless there is a specific need to. Are there any problems with anything other than that one app? And what is the specific issue with that app (yeah I know, it runs poorly - but I don't know what that means). It also may be attributed to the fact you are asking an older machine to do what it may not have been designed for...Hi,

Sorry, no idea but i should SAY to take assistance of some good technician. Quote from: andrekakkar on November 25, 2010, 04:14:02 AM

Solve : Lost recovery disc?

Answer»

I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 and i can't seem to find my recovery discs. Is there any way i could get another disc.Contact DellDell allows users to order 1 (one) set of recovery disks, so if you do get a set of disks shipped to you, be sure you KEEP them in a safe place, because you won't get any more. After you get the disks,  if your computer is more than about 1 year old, you might need to go to the Dell Driver Download Page to get the latest DRIVERS. To order the recovery disks from Dell, have your service tag number (located on the back of your computer) ready and proceed to the Dell Recovery Disk Order Page and fill out the request form.

You may be able to create them yourself: http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsn/document?c=us&l=en&s=gen&docid=62A668E1C399857AE040AE0AB8E12942Good find, Broni!!Hi,

Solve : LAN Drivers lost??

Answer»

Not SURE what PC it is, I'll find out this afternoon but it's running XP, Service Pack 2 and as I connect to an Orange Livebox directly from router to pc I don't get any established CONNECTION. When I go to Control Panel>Network Connection, all I have is a BROADBAND connection, No LAN and I presume this is back I formatted it to shop standard a while back as it was riddled with viruses. When I click connect to broadband I get Username and Password which I presume I can aquire from Orange but I don't MIND always using a wired connection.

Any help much appreciated,

thanks.

JoshAfter you formatted and reinstalled did you re-install the MBoard DRIVERS and the drivers for your wireless connection ? ?
Do a quick glance in Device Manager for any Yellow !! or ??'s...

Solve : Driver help please!!?

Answer»

Hi i have an acer aspire 5610 tht the HDD crashed on a while ago. I put an XP HDD in it but now i need all the drivers before i can run the net on it. I don't  have the disc and I cant burn one as I'm using a netbook, I tried downloading them from the acer site ONTO a usb but they are only system files that i cant open. please help!!!PUNCTUATION!!SORRY
WELL please fix the first post so we can understand it. I, for one, cannot. Thanks.Hope you find that easier to read.Okay, thank you. If I understand correctly you put in a new HD and installed XP, and now you need the drivers (CORRECT me if that's not right). You've downloaded the drivers, they are on a usb drive, and you don't know how to proceed - good so far?

You say they are "system files". What does that mean? Post the FULL file names of some of the drivers please.Well first I thought I would start by downloading the LAN driver. I downloaded it and it was a ZIP file called Lan_Broadcom(5787)_9.25.0.0_XPx86. So I extracted it and there were 3 files b57wn32 which is a security catalog, B57xp32 which was a system file, and b57win32 which was setup information. It appears these are the drivers you want (http://gd.panam.acer.com/home/). Download them and install them, starting with the chipset driver. If you have problems post back.
