Solve : In game problem?

Answer»

Every time i play a game after a while it starts to go black then back to normal ,after it does that a few times the blue screen appears and i have to shut it down manually.
Video Card: ATI Radeon X1550 Series
Driver Version:atiumdag 8.593.100.0(Catalyst 10.2)/Win 7
It does this in the games: Rise of nations, Call of duty 4/6, League of Legends.
Thanks in advance.Thats an OLD video card and its likely overheating. I have the same video card a PCIe type with 256MB RAM and PASSIVE heatsink that I did away with long ago because it kept overheating playing World of Warcraft and black screening on me. I added a fan blowing across mine, but it still wasnt enough to disipate the heat that GPU created trying to run games, and I think the GPU was slightly damaged from roasting too many times.

I'd swap the video card with another BETTER video card, such as a more modern and powerful ATI Radeon 5450HD with 1GB RAM for just $32 as linked if yours is also a PCIe slot video card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102882

I am running the 5450HD in 2 systems and impressed with what it RUNS for the price. One is 512MB and the other is 1GB of Video Ram. This video card is also passive and I used my already existing 80mm fan that I installed for my prior Radeon x1550 to blow cool air across the heatsink.

Solve : Compaq presario v2000 xp drivers?

Answer»

cant install th sound drivers and video drivers for this laptop, when im trying to install the drivers for video it gives an error, "INF error Video driver not found" and "Setup was unable to complete the installation. Try to setup your display adapter with a standard VGA driver before running setup." but the driver i used to install is the one given on the site.
for the sound driver. after installation process. it prompts that the installation of conexant audio driver failed. i also tried to install the automatic software DETECTION from the hp web site but the installation always fails.
please help me. i cannot install windows 7 since the laptop is running with LOW specification, and using window7 will just make it to slow when usedWhere did you get these drivers from ? ?the video is working now,but the sound is still not working, when i go to control PANEL,the sound icon is still dimmed, GOT my drivers from the hp SUPPORT website. You could try extracting the archive or exe for the sound drivers and then find the actual folder that the inf and sys files reside in. Then go to device manager and right-click the sound and click update driver, then browse for the folder that you extracted where the inf files are located.

Solve : Is there batterie driver or software for bios Batterie output only good for hour?

Answer»

Is there battery update or driver or software for BIOS. I bought a new battery and its output when fully charged is only good for one hour. My computer is a Hp Dv5000 laptop. Using windows XP.
Well the HPdv5000 apparently COMES in quite a few flavors and variances of battery life do occur within the group. However my research for you tends to indicate that your experience re one hour is abnormally small.2.5-3 hours is stated on the 6 cell 10.xx V battery. If the battery you have is a 12 cell then you should get upwards of 5 hours. Now as you MAY well know depending on the processes being used that can have a substantial effect on battery life IE: writing an e-mail versus PLAYING a game.If the battery has just been purchased you might be wise to return it for a replacement if you can. Hopefully you purchased it from some source other than HP as it seems to be impossible for dissatisfied customers to EVER get HP to replace a battery. Hopefully to help you optimize a laptop battery's life for the future here is a link on how to maximize laptop battery life.

Solve : black screen with mouse arrow?

Answer»

When I TURN my computer on all I get is a black screen with mouse arrow.  This happened a month ago and I put the recover DVD in and it WORKED.  It happened again a few days ago and now the DVD won't do anything.  I called a computer hotline and they wanted a ton of money from me and said a bunch of my DRIVERS had STOPPED.  Not sure what to do now...  Any suggestions?  I can get it to work through safe mode but that is limited..In safemode go to Control Panel/Device Manager...any devices that have Yellow !'s or ?'s have missing /corrupted drivers...
DLoad any that are needed from the manuf. site and re-install them.
When finished boot to normal mode and see if all is well...if not then it's a Windows issue so let us know.

I updated a win xp driver using off brand driver updater and i restarted and now it wont boot up...it was a cpu driver..1.7 ghz intel pentium mobile..PLEASE HELP..Perfect example of whats wrong with driver finder apps...
Can you boot to safemode ? ?
If so use safemode with networking and either roll BACK the previous driver or DLoad and install the proper one. Quote from: domiwatkins on February 10, 2013, 12:39:04 PM

I updated a win xp driver using off brand driver updater and i restarted and now it wont boot up...it was a cpu driver..1.7 ghz intel pentium mobile..PLEASE HELP..

For future reference: CPUs don't have nor require drivers. What driver did it update exactly?

And it probably goes without saying, but never ever used third-party driver installers or registry cleaners or things of that sort. Obviously, you now see what often happens.

As PATIO said, try safe mode or try to do a system restore to a point before this driver was changed (if you have system restore turned on).

Just out of curiosity, you mentioned it's an "Intel Pentium Mobile", which would indicate that it's a laptop, is that RIGHT? Could you TELL us the model NUMBER?

Solve : cannot install printer driver?

Answer»

for whatever reason my HP Deskjet 2179 printer could no longer be detected on my vista 32bit PC, i have had it for some time and have lost the disc that came with it so downloaded a new driver and software from HP site. The software seemed to download but when the popup came up SAYING windows needed to find a driver it came up that it was not digitally signed etc. I tried to find a remedy but was unsuccessful so thought i WOULD just buy another printer with a disc so it would have a "signed" driver with it. It is a HP Deskjet 2510, i inserted the disc and all looked ok until once again it came time to look for driver. I then tried both printers on a 2nd PC we have in the house and both installed no worries.  The Question is that maybe i have lost a programme i need on my Vista. Has anyone got any clue what the problem could be... I prey to hear back from someone... ThanksYeah, that happens. Just did that to me. but not the same HP printer and on XP instead of Vista. There is a place on the HP site where you can get some HELP, but you have to find the error log for the install. The error log will tell just what went wrong.

You have to uninstall all the stuff. Sometimes the uninstall does not work right. (BTW, IIT is not only Hp that has this problem.)

Solve : External Hard Disk - My Passport?

Answer»

i am using WD My Passport 1 TB USB speed 3.0 and higher. The problem is i have 1 TB and i have no space in it i have just filled up all my backup and every thing to that and now it is  not opening in any of the computer device i have tried a lot and my sister got it from USA now i am in India it got lot of trouble and i called to  WD customer support since i don't have the warranty card i cant do anything... then i tried in one of my friends home Thank God it is working in Samsung Led TV but not working in any of the system ... it is working only in Televisions.... Please any one Help!!! What OS version are you using with the 1TB drive? Are you using the data security bundled feature software that came with this drive?

I had a 1.5TB external drive run into a similar issue also a WD drive. I ended up having to carefully open the external drive enclosure and remove the small SATA hard drive and install it internally as an internal 1.5TB SATA drive into my desktop computer to regain access to my data after saving  a little over 1TB of data to the drive. Here is the model I had that I voided the warranty on to regain access to my data/drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822236188

*I locked myself out of my data by ACCIDENT early on forgetting my own password I set on it, and did away with having this data security WD bundled software having to run to access my data on my drive. I dumped the PARTITIONS and CREATED new partitions and ran into issues later on with these drives.

I was using mine with USB 2.0 on both Windows XP Pro SP3 and Windows 7 Home Premium. The one day the drive would not work on any computers I had. Tried different USB cable etc with no luck. Stuck drive to my ear and heard it spinning, just wasn't talking to computers. Contacted WD and they said that I could send the drive back to them and get a replacement, however to get my data back would come at an additional free. I decided to keep this drive and void my warranty by cracking it open and installing it internally to a desktop computer instead that had no issues with the drive. I did not feel comfortable sending this drive into WD with private information on it that could get stolen, so I took the chance of getting 1.5TB of storage back as well as over 1TB of my data back by using it as an internal HDD for a few weeks. I then bought a cheap $20 3.5" external enclosure and installed this 1.5TB drive into a cheap Rosewill external enclosure case and the drive worked like new. Something went wrong with the WD SATA to USB conversion board in their WD case is what I assume the cause of the issue was to begin with.

If you are careful and have a small flat screw driver you can pop the tabs on the enclosure and install it into a new 3.5" external hard drive case for SATA drive, and regain access to your data or install it internally like I did to regain access to data.

This is the second external I have had from WD that FAILED within a year of owning it. The other was a 1TB WD MyBook External with a LCD display that showed free space and external HDD name etc. The LCD died after 3 months and about 6 months after that no computers were detecting the external drive. This was the last external WD drive I will ever buy. Going to stick with Seagate which I have 3 externals that have lasted without issues.

*Only thing I didnt try with mine was to plug it into USB port on flat screen TV to see if it would show family pictures etc like you can do with thumb drives etc.

Solve : REFRESH RATE?

Answer»

HELLO,I am using an old model monitor, dell p7771p. Recently I installed windows 7 ultimate. Now I am unable to change refresh rate, there is no option on the monitor TAB only have"Use hardware default setting'. Driver update shows'Best driver already installed'.But aero trouble shooter indicates" contact manufacture for driver'. When it was windows xp I COULD change the refresh rate. Here are hardware info. ADAPTER-standard vga graphic adapter, chip type-ATI rage 128, BIO- 01.000. PC- DTK-MS-6566. Could you please help to fix this problem without buying a new VEDIO CARD? Thanks There is no Rage 128 driver for Windows 7. They stopped supporting that card in the XP days. The most recent driver available for it is the old Windows XP 32-bit driver, which you can download here: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/legacy-xp.aspx

Even if you get the driver to install, the card won't work right. Windows 7 requires a card that is at least DirectX 9.0c compatible. The ATI Rage 128 only supported up to DirectX5.If that system has a Rage 128 I question whether it should be running windows 7 at all.

Which Operating system?
Why did you post this in drivers? Do you have driver issues?
Did you recently change anything?
Is there a change the adapter nipped out of nits slot?
Are you in an area that has have very serve weather in the past few days? Power outages?
Does you modem or router still work?
Do you have another network adapter you could use?
More information, more free help. It's your turn.
its  vista home on a dell inspiron 1210 mini notebook and i put it in drives cause it says drive issueOK. That helps.

Dell Inspiron Mini 1210   with  realtek rtl8101

That model got some bad PR.
Did it work good at some earlier time? What might have changed.
Not being able to get on the Internet means you can't get the right driver either. But it is hard to believe the driver just failed by itself.

My approach to fixing this kind of problem may seem odd, but it the the best way to identify the problem. I recommend you buy another network adapter and get it to work. Really, the is the method often used by top technicians.

You can get a USB network adapter for about $20 from on-line stores. For simple Internet surfing, speed is not important.

But before you try that.
The Dell WEB site should have the right download for the :
Realtek RTL8101 Family PCI-E Fast Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0) Driver
Realtek RTL8101 Family Dell.com

If you have trouble, read this:
Realtek 1801 drive does not install in Vista

My guess is you will find the Realtek is dead.  But I am often wrong.

PS. The drive for HP may work. Quote

PS. The drive for HP may work.
Maybe this link is what geek is referring to. Same adapter driver and OS.Yeah, that was  it. And there was a reference to it by a third party. Strange. Use a HP drive to fix a Dell.  Its only for an adapter and same OS anyway. I think I saw in between your links about a user USING the same TYPE of driver for a dell laptop.

Edit : I think the OP has another thread in the Vista/7/8 section. Well let's mark this as solved.
So the driver for realtek rtl8101 on Dell you get from HP.
Case closed.

Solve : Cannot print Documents! Infected! DrWatson Postmordem???

Answer»

Hello,
My computer will not print. When it makes the attempt to print the document (word, excel, etc.) closes and then DrWatson pops up?!? Any ideas? I am running Malwarebytes right now. Did SuperAntiSpyware and removed those threats. Any ideas?Description of the Dr. Watson for Windows (Drwtsn32.exe) Tool

Basically Dr Watson is Windows built in debugging software. Not malware.

Is your printer software up-to-date?
Did you save the SuperAntiSpyware log? If so post it please.I would restart in safe mode without networking before running MalwareBytes. Quote from: Darthgumby on March 30, 2012, 01:16:45 PM

No. Malwarebytes is designed to be run in normal mode. Safe mode is to be USED in rare circumstances when it will not run in normal mode. Here's Mbam log and SUPER anti spy logs

[year+ old attachment deleted by admin]I deleted all of my printers and now it won't read my hp disc....The only thing in the logs was some Adware which while a nuisance to some is not REALLY dangerous like a trojan, worm, etc, would be.

Solve : Dynex DX-UBDB9 Cable (serial to USB) Windows 7 - change Bit rate?

Answer»

I have followed the instructions in another thread 'Driver for Dynex DX-UBDB9 Cable (serial to USB)' to download the PL2303_Prolific_DriverInstaller_10311.z ip for Windows 7 (64 BIT).

I need to change the baud rate to 115200. When I change the settings in control panel, hardware, properties, ports I can change from the default of 9600 to 115200, hit Ok, and then if I immediately reopen the port properties it is back to the default of 9600. Any IDEAS?

PS - I have successfully changed the rate on an XP MACHINE in the past. Is this Windows 7 specific?

Solve : Driver for a PCI LAN Card.?

Answer»

Hello Everyone,

Bought this card on Ebay a while back in order to connect to the internet. Installed fine but now will not connect to anything. Computer doesn't even seen to know its there. I lost the driver disk for it and was wondering if ANYONE would help me locate it. As it is from a generic ebay seller it is TOUGH to FIND. Thank you!!

Here is what I have on it.

2.4Ghz/54Mbps PCI Adapter IEEE 802.11g
Wireless LAN
FCC CE Made in China

[regaining space - attachment deleted by ADMIN]Really not much to go on here. No manufacturer/no model/no FCC number (or other equivalent). I would recommend that you try to e-mail the vendor and perhaps they can either e-mail you the drivers or direct you to a site where they are available. When you 1st installed it into the computer did you get a "new hardware found" advisory?truenorthRead the chip.  Unable to see clearly.Ya i agree truenorth. Everything is pretty much blank. There is a new hardware pop up but i cant properly install it because the comp has no internet connection.  Chip says:

then, Ralink RT2561ST

Choose your weapon.  I like this one:  PCI/mPCI/CB (RT256x/RT266x)If Computer -Commando's links don't solve it then obviously you do have access to the Internet so as i suggested earlier "I would recommend that you try to e-mail the vendor and perhaps they can either e-mail you the drivers or direct you to a site where they are available." If you can get them put them on a removable media (flash-drive/floppy/cd) and BRING them to the affected computer for installation.I am a bit surprised that your windows operating system does not have a generic driver for that card. However I'm not certain if windows does have drivers for that.truenorthIf you can't get that card working, here's a replacement I'll recommend: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=534927&Sku=D700-1026%20P.  With it, you'll be dealing with a well-known manufacturer and you'll no problem getting the driver for it.Thanks a lot guys. Got it working with your links Commando. Was at the RALink site before but I must of DLed the wrong one. Thanks again my nerdy people. The XBMC is alive again!!!! Great, truenorthTo Computer Commando
Dear Guru, I was struggling, with a PCI LAN card I bought from China through E-Bay, for the last 3 days. The drivers on the CD didn't work. The generic driver of Win XP didn't work.Googled exhaustively and hit your site. The Railinktech drivers pointed out by you worked. How do you get this kind of info?I am so excited.I was going to trash the card. Thanks a million Guru. You saved me from a nervous breahdown.A twofer,Fantastic, truenorthSeems like years ago I posted that topic haha. Solve : wireless gone?

Answer»

hi my wireless has just gone it is not recognized in the device manager and a USB Device not Recognized pop up is showing up.
i restart it a couple of times and once it did showed up but after i did it again it was gone again.
i have a toshiba laptop l300 Can you think of ANYTHING you might have done that caused the problem?
What devices do you have plugged into your USB ports?
TRY reinstalling the wireless drivers and see if the problem still persists..

i think problem started when i tried to charge my phone with USB cable
the point is i even reinstaled the Windows 7 OS and still the pop up comes some times the wireless is there and some times it is not recognized i have re installed the DRIVER and when i have the wireless the driver is in the device manager and when the USB recognize pop up shows and there is no wireless the driver is gone also like there is no wireless in the device managerAh... so it sounds like a hardware issue... more specifically a power issue with the WiFi card causing it to draw too MUCH power...

Try taking out your charger, taking out your battery,  leaving the laptop alone for a few MINUTES, and power the laptop on with only the charger (no battery inserted) with the wireless switch off and without any USB devices inserted. After windows fully boots, then turn on WiFi.i done that restarted it a couple of times to make sure and the wireless is here so i think you did it man.
 Thanks

Solve : HP laptop wireless driver?

Answer»

Hey everyone,
I recieved an old hp laptop from a friend and it had several windows RELATED issues so i installed XP fresh.
My issue COMES in that I cannot find the driver to allow me to connect to wireless internet.
Is it just a driver I need to download? If so a kick in the right direction would be nice.
If not what else can it be.
Good with building computers, the worst with drivers.

Thanks a lot

Computer is a:

HP Pavilion DV6500
XP SP3
AMD Athlon 64 X2
1 GB RAM
250 GB HDD
1394 Net Adapter
Laptop drivers should always come from the manuf. site...
It wil either be included in the MBoard chipset set or listes as a WLAN driver...downloaded the network drivers from here

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=228&lc=en&cc=ca&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=3380544#N365

and installed.

When HP Wireless Assistant opens it says that Wireless LAN has been disabled in Windows Device Manager.

When I go to Device Manager I cannot find any place to enable anything network related that isnt enabled alreadyI am wondering why you are posing this same issue on two different CH forums? This one and the windows XP forum. I have answered you there and it is ALONG the same LINE as patio's answer here. It does NOT ensure any faster or better replies and can potentially lead to confusion as a member may answer one being unaware (as i was ) of the existence of another. One POST on the issue ensures a better flow of responses. truenorthsorry about that true. didnt really think it was only a driver issue the more i looked at it, so i thought the XP section would be better. I will close this one up and focus on the other wall post. my bad. yes it was a rookie move. Unfortunately YOU cannot close  the other post. But not to be troubled we have all been there at one time. truenorth

Solve : Win Vista won't install...?

Answer»

Here is an interesting one. Windows Vista will not install because it says I need a driver for my hard drive O.o
Ok, Windows already has HDD drivers so this shouldn't be happening. I ended up finding some information which tells me I am needing an update to my Storage Controller (Silicon Image SiI 3132 SATALink Controller). Then I go to their site and find a list of updates but there are so many it is impossible to tell which is the right one.
And even if I did find the correct update there is no way to install it in a Windows environment because, well, there is no O/S because it won't install!!!
Frustrating, huh?

The motherboard is an ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe. The HDD is a 500GB Maxtor. The Windows to be installed is Vista Ultimate 64-bit.

If anyone knows how to rid me of this problem I would really appreciate it Not too hard. You do have another PC. Do you have another HDD? Maybe an old PATA? Install Windows temporarily on the old PATA drive. Then check out the details of the motherboard and the drive  using additional tools you get elsewhere. You're trying to upgrade to Vista? Why on earth would you do that?

Anyhow, are you trying to do so by BOOTING from the disc or within Windows?Sage: I have my own PC which I used to get the information I need about the mobo. I do believe I have all the info I need about it. I did find an upgrade for the controller as well as an upgrade for the ASUS mobo BIOS. Ok, now I still have the problem of applying those upgrades because they need to be installed in a Windows environment and that is something I cannot do since Windows will not install on the HDD I want to use or any HDD I have tried...all 6 of them. I thought of using another computer to install Windows and then throw that HDD in the guy's computer but then I would need an identical mobo or Windows would get confused and refuse to boot anyway.

Raptor: The guy who I am doing this for had his HDD fail and he has his original Vista O/S disk, that's why I am trying to install Vista. He will not pay to get Win 7 :/   I am trying to install it from that Vista disk. You can install Vista by booting from the disc.

If Vista can not detect your SATA hard drive, you need the SATA driver for the chipset and it can usually be obtained from the mainboard manufacturer's webpage. It usually mentions that it is meant to be used on a floppy disk.

Why aren't you doing it this way? ya i would go to win 7 your cpu will run faster lol vista is a memory hog
QUOTE from: konair666 on March 14, 2012, 01:15:58 AM

ya i would go to win 7 your cpu will run faster lol vista is a memory hog

Does not help the OP and is also not true. Feel free to ignore this....you cant say vista is not a memory hog. its a well known fact it is it might not be best to go woth 7 depending on the age of the cpu but it is better to go with xp or 7 i have not seen 1 computer that is better off with vista on it then anything else. to say that would be wrongBack to the issue...
To get Vista to recognise the HDD properly do the following:
Boot to the Vista CD...
Very early on in Setup a BOTTOM screen prompt shows saying "Press F6 to install additional drivers"...do so.
Then PUT your MBoard Driver CD in and hit continue...Setup will auto install it and continue to run Setup... Quote from: konair666 on March 14, 2012, 08:05:21 AM

You are absolutely wrong. However, you've stated your OPINION. Now please let's just leave it at that. Further discussions regarding your opinion of Vista will not help anything in this thread. Thank you.And will be removed...

Solve : old driver(s)??

Answer»

I was just reading a newspaper story online when explorer shut down and I got a notification that my driver(s) were old.  I've never had this happen before.  My computer, an Acer with a Windows 7 system, is less than a YEAR old.  I've tried to be diligent about installing updates whenever I'm prompted (often they install automatically).    I restarted my computer when I first received teh message and it seems to be working all right.

So can anyone answer if I have an issue that needs to be taken care of?

Thanks in advance for any help.If they are trying to sell an app that finds drivers it's a scam...

Check the Acer site for any updates but in general with the drivers if everything's running fine there's no need to fuss with them...Thanks for the response Patio-I kind of thought it might be something like that.  What caught me off guard though was that Explorer shut down without any prompting from me-like I said, I've never had that happen before.Update and run alll your protection apps...Sorry to be so computer-illiterate-but what do you mean by run my protection apps?  I checked AVG and it says that it's working and that I'm protected.

As for Updates-as I said, I update regularly whenever I'm prompted (which is often).  Is there something I should do to update on my own?DLoad install and run the following 2 Apps

MalwareBytes Anti-MALWARE
Super Anti-Spyware.

Both Free versions and they add protection for baddies that AVG may not catch...

Post back if you have any questions.
PS...It's safe to let them clean anything they may find...Thanks again for all of your help.  So does that mean that you think what happened could have been a malware attack?  I did get malware on a computer once before (that got through AVG) but in that case I ACTUALLY CLICKED on an infected picture.

Also, links you gave me look good-can you guarantee me that they're safe?  I'm sorry to sound so paranoid but I spent a LOT of money on this computer and I get extremely nervous about loading anything into it that I'mnot absolutely sure about.

Thanks-I REALLY appreciate all your the help, etc. They are completely safe...and highly recommended here...and elsewhere.
We never would advise otherwise.

It may have been something as simple as a browser re-direct...at this point nothing to be alarmed about.Cool-thanks again.

Solve : is there any way to use an external hd, like an internal hd??

Answer»

I was wondering if you can use an external hard drive like a regular hard drive? What I want to do is play my games on an external hard drive. The hard drive on my computer is getting pretty full.  And I would like to keep more than one GAME going at a time.
I have a Dell XPS 630i, Windows XP Pro. It is not clear why you just don't put manpower Hard Drive inside your Desktop. That is a full size desktop - right?

Dell XPS 630i

Can't see where it tells if there are extra bays. There should be.

In any desktop that does not have a spare bay, take out the floppy or DVD drive abed use the bay for another HDD. You can get external DVD  case for about the same price as an eternal HDD case.

Avoid external HDD unless you have a need for it. Like portable backup.
I was given the external drive for christmas, and was hoping to be able to use it.Yes, as far as your system is concerned the external drive is essentially the same as an internal drive - you can run programs from it.To confirm what Allan says and to respectfully disagree with Geek i am using at least 4 external Hdd's with everything under the sun on them and they perform as do internals. Plus they give me the advantage of the portability of taking their content for use on a variety of computers. If you have a spare internal 2.5 or 3.5 cases to convert them to externals are readily available and very inexpensive.truenorthI give up.    QUOTE from: Geek-9pm on January 28, 2012, 10:45:22 AM

I give up.

I agree with you. External hard drives are way more likely to be abused and poorly cooled. Not to mention that USB as an interface isn't as RELIABLE as having a dedicated SATA or PATA interface.

Also, external hard drives most of the time aren't properly grounded which is just bad for computer equipment.

If you intend on using a hard drive on a daily matter, it should be inside the computer for best results.I agree with Geek-9pm (there is a first time for everything).

While I don't understand the common cite that "USB is less reliable than ATA" (as a protocol), the fact is that being external to the case makes it more "unreliable"; it's easier for a person to accidentally unplug it, (either it's data or power cable) while it is in-use, for example. And of course cheaper enclosures might take shortcuts such as being improperly ground, (though I've not seen that even on China specials, myself)

External Hard drives should be used for storage; not for active use, particularly for software installations.

First, regardless of what you tell the game or software, parts of it will need to be installed to the system drive. Many games will store in the registry where they are installed, so doing that means you now have to make sure the external shows up as the same drive letter, too. Saved Games typically will go into your Userprofile folder, so if you are low on disk space you should really be looking what you can delete from your system drive to save space. Also the "have two games running at the same time" comment confuses me, since having an external drive in no way facilitates that or makes it easier.

Basically there is nothing stopping you from using the HD the way you intend but it's unlikely the effect will be what you desire. I doubt "bad" things will result but the fact is if your system drive is low on space you should be looking to delete files from it, not install games/software to another drive. (paired with the additional house-keeping of making sure the external drive always shows up with the same drive letter) Quote from: Raptor on January 28, 2012, 10:51:32 AM

These statements are both nonsense.

These statements are both nonsense.

Yah, the most of the time should PROBABLY have been "some of the time" but other than that, the guy below me pretty much echoed my concerns in more detail. Just to clarify it was and isn't my intention to imply that externals don't present the possibilities of issues which in some cases can be unique to them as opposed to internals. However as with anything if you take the time to inform yourself as to what those issues may be and govern your use accordingly then my personal experience has been nothing but a positive one with externals (both self created from internals and store bought externals). I have a number of programs that i use on a variety of computers. I install them once and when needed carry them to the computer i wish to use it on RATHER than installing it on ALL of them. As i said never a problem yet in some cases over 5 years of use on some externals. Not to say it won't happen but then things happen.truenorth Quote from: truenorth on January 28, 2012, 01:50:05 PM

These must be examples of portable programs that do not require installation in the host computer's program files folder, which do not create registry entries, install DLL files, etc.

I wasn't confused. I understood what you wrote. The question marks were intended to convey my surprise and dismay at such an un-rigorous attitude - "This is what I do, and it mostly works, but if it doesn't work for you, well... Hey! That's life!"

I have a number of programs that i use on a variety of computers. I install them once and when needed carry them to the computer i wish to use it on rather than installing it on ALL of them.

As Salmon Trout points out Those applications are an exception rather than a rule. When  the installer does nothing more than copy files to the directory specified, then it works well. However, most applications deal with far more than just copying files to a single folder. Most non-trivial application installers usually do other tasks:

-Register COM components, or install .NET assemblies to the GAC.
-Register themselves with Windows Installer (for removal, modification, reinstall).
-Install Data to %appdata%\applicationname\, this could include things like images or default configuration files. Since the installer adds these, the application naturally get's confused if you run it and those folders aren't there (usually erroring out).
-Install Data to the registry. Often this combines with the former, so that the registry key might store the location of the install data, or version information, config information, etc. Again, since this is made by the installer it's usually pointless to bother writing code to make sure they exist, since if they don't the user is clearly using the application in an unsupported way and doesn't know what they are doing.

Naturally, installing the application to a removable drive and attempting to use that application on another PC will break loads of assumptions made by the application. Personally, if an application can be used in a "portable" manner, it doesn't need an installer anyway. As far as problems, it's not a matter of whether they can or might happen. It's a matter of when. How you managed to only do this with programs that don't do any of the above I don't know. Good luck doing this with Office or most games, though.

of course the application will still work from the machine it was installed to the external on in the above cases, it just won't work on other machines.

Solve : Advent Milano Elite Drivers?

Answer»

Hello I am new to this site and have searched for the relevant drivers without success so posting this request to see if anyone can help.

I have a Advent Milano ELITE which came without a hard drive. I used an OLD hard drive from my laptop which has XP already loaded on and switched the Advent on. It now needs the drivers installed for the network card, video display, sound etc etc but I can't seem to find them anywhere on the net. Can anyone help? Have I done this the right way as a few people have said you can't just switch over hard drives you have to format them first and do a fresh install. Trouble is I can't find disks for either! Apparently it is made by ECS but their website wont let you download the drivers.
Any help would be appreciated.

Solve : Re-installed XP and now have no sound???

Answer»

Since re-installing windows XP professional on my COMPUTER, it suddenly refuses to play sound. Under "Sound and Audio Devices Properties" it says there is no audio device installed. I have DONE everything I can think of, and this is my last resort before taking it in to a computer shop.

There are no yellow exclamation marks in device manager, I can't check the "show volume icon in tray" under audio because it is greyed out, I've downloaded and installed the necessary driver for the sound card several times over, I've uninstalled it from device manager and rebooted so it force reinstalls, I've re-re-installed windows, I've run the computer in safe MODE and repeated above steps..

I assume it's built in to my motherboard, because when I took the computer apart there was no obvious card in a slot, and the WIRES from the headphone jack etc run straight into the motherboard.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I don't really want to be shafted by the computer companies..

Solve : Stuck??

Answer»

I have an older Sony camcorder (DCR-TRV350) that uses digital tape that I used to download onto my computer to edit when I was using XP.  I upgraded to 7 64 BIT about a year ago and it wont recognize my camcorder.   I WENT to the Sony site to get an upgraded driver but there are none for Vista or 7.   Am I stuck with getting a computer with XP?Yes,While PATIO's very DEFINITIVE answer may turn out to be the certainty. Alternatively  IF you can extract the data (i ASSUME audio/video) to another device such as a a camcorder that IS compatible with win 7 that could be another alternative. Hardware/software devices do exist for video audio transfers.truenorthThanks for the confirmation on that.  I want to get a 32 bit system going again anyway, I have lots of programs I can use on it

Solve : Drivers failing?

If I do anything graphically intensive - any sort of game or streaming a video - for a few minutes my computer tends to freeze, give a brief blue screen, and then shut down on its on. This is the information I receive after my computer reboots.

Solve : pink lines across the screen??

Answer»

Hi, hoping for help. in the middle of playing a game, my monitor got all these pink LINES going from left to right across the screen. (looks like a heart monitor). went into device monitor and there is a yellow mark next to the video card. According to driver detective the drivers for the nvidia GeForce 8800 gt needs upgrading. went to dell, and there is no upgrade listed there. Went to Nvidia and they show an upgrade, tried to upgrade with the driver they said it needed but no difference.  Tried uninstalling the drive, rebooted it put it back in and still has the yellow mark.
Should I pay the price for Driver Detective to install the driver? or is this a dead card?  do not want to pay for the Detective if I will need to buy a new card anyway.
Any advice will be welcomed
Thanks DebbieSince I don't know what make or model your computer is but you did indicate monitor so I can only assume it is a pc not a laptop.  Have you tried hooking a different monitor up to the pc to rule out the monitor itself?NEVER pay for drivers...or any app that pretends to find them for you...it's a scam.

Drivers are Free.Just noticed it's a Dell...
Travel to the Dell site ...enter your Service Tag # from the PC and all your drivers will be listed.
DLoad and re-install the APPROPIATE driver and re-boot...if still the same then the card/chip may be failing.Sorry the computer is a Dell XPS Demension 630i,  I do not have another monitor I can switch it out with.
I did go to Dell,   Guess it is the card/chip. I was soooo hopeingit was something simple   Did you re-install the video drivers ? ?YES I re-installed and when that did not work I tried to update the drivers. no difference.Just a thought.  Before you go out and buy another video card try downloading a free program to stress test the one you have.   I don't play games but it is possible it might tell you something about the GPU.  Sorry, can't even tell you exactly what to look for.  Probably temps.  Maybe someone else can be of help here.

But don't jump to the point where it becomes solved because YOUR solution may lie somewhere else along the process.
http://www.computing.net/answers/windows-7/nvidia-8800-gt-driver-problem/3960.html
Good luck, truenorthAnother couple of things you could try is checking the connections on your monitor.  What size is your PS?  Might need a bigger power supply for  the nvidia GeForce 8800 gt.  ibfoxy1, have you tried reseating the card? (taking it out, putting it back in)

Solve : Visioneer Scanner 5600usb?

Answer»

This scanner runs real GOOD on my XP machine.
Manufacturer has discontinued this model.
I'm currently running WIN 7 on a laptop.
How can I get Win 7 to recognize this scanner ?
I have downloaded the drivers, but they only support up to XP.
HarryHow is the laptop connected to the printer ? ? USB ?
If so does it show up in Control Panel/Printers after re-booting ? ?
If that works make sure it's set as default printer...same place.

If no to any of the above there is an XP Compatibility MODE plugin from MS that would need to be installed...and then startup in XP Mode and install the printers XP drivers...

Other than that the only other option would be to setup the PC's on a Home network and try it that way...a bit more involved though...You can't. No support, no drivers.

You'll have to buy a Windows 7 compatible scanner. Quote from: patio on January 19, 2012, 11:46:26 AM

Solve : Mouse and Keyboard not working in Windows?

Answer»

Having mouse and keyboard problems with my Dell optiplex running windows xp at login screen. Bacically, the keyboard works fine in the bios but as soon as windows boots to login screen the keyboard and mouse are not working at all. Having found some different solutions online it seems that booting without the mouse attached was allowing the keyboard to work and subsequently the mouse itself afterwards. Problem is though that upon rebooting again with mouse attached the same problem arrises. Also, when it does boot the drivers for both mouse and keyboard have to be re-installed each time. Any ideas or solutions would be greatly appreciated...Can you go into safe mode? Sounds like your Windows INSTALLATION is corrupted SOMEHOW. Got a virus scanner?Yes can boot into safe mode and even access the SYSTEM using the method above but REALLY confused as to why this is happening. Yes it definitely sounds like a windows problem but just trying to figure out exactly what may have caused this in the first place. No viruses or malaware detected either. Does safemode cause the same behaviour?Yes same behaviour in safemodeYou have a USB or PS/2 mouse, keyboard? Its usb keyboard and mouse. With the workaround I described earlier it seems that re-installing the drivers in each usb port seems to have done the trick for now anyway. Very STRANGE problem but fingers crossed it won't re-occur.

Solve : System has no sound?

My computer has no sound. In the bottom right in the system tray it has an x over the speaker and SAYS No speakers or HEADPHONES are plugged in. I am USING a M4N78 PRO motherboard and I have the disc that comes with all the drivers. The AUDIO drivers will not install and prompt me with the error "We cant find hd audio device". My system has no audio and i cant download drivers to try to fix it, it's like windows isnt picking up the sound card at all. Remove it from device manager and restart the system.Didn't work. The drivers i've downloaded just wont work. i GET the same "We cant find hd audio device" error everytime. Then you have the wrong drivers...
Or the MBoard chipset drivers need to be re-installed...
Laptop or Desktop ?If it has a speaker icon in Windows, it sounds to me like the drivers are installed.

You can't unmute it? Did you remove the sound panel software from add/remove programs? It could also mean that the onboard device is disabled or not started.

When you borrowed the Vista disc you violated the EULA. Accordingly we are UNABLE to help you, I'm sorry. This is an old problem. Microsoft will not help with an installation of  any OEM VERSION of Vista. This was covered some years ago in a PC mag article. (2007)

Solve : Video Card Update Issue?

Answer»

I have a ATI X1300 PCI VGA/DVI video card in my gaming pc. Thing is that there is an updated, I downloaded the driver from the SITE ran it an said that it couldnt find the driver that was installed.  I uninstalled an reinstalled the driver that came with it an then tried updateing.  I still had the same issue.  This is the issue "setup wasnt able to find the componets installed on your current hardware or software config. Make sure that its for you current hardware or software"  I ran the automatic tool an am getting a wierd issue from that as WELL.  I dont have what it is right off though. Some people may disagree, but I often treat drivers a lot like the BIOS. If it is working with no problems, then don't update it, because you will often run into more problems TRYING to update. That said, I think you should go into device manager and remove the driver and just install the old one again (unless you were having a problem with the old one that you FAILED to mention in your post). No,  Supposeably this card will support RE 5 which, I would like to have on this machine Quote from: Ryuk on January 08, 2012, 02:41:16 PM

No, it isn't. If that's what you want to do that's fine, but please do not suggest that others do the same - at least on this forum. Problems caused by updating drivers unnecessarily are among the most common cause of posts on support forums. Again, drivers should not be updated unless there is a specific need or reason to do so. So in all those cases where a driver update could have prevented a laptop from breaking down due to overheating it was a good idea to not at least check the fix-list of the driver to see if there are important updates?I've been working with personal computers since they were first introduced. The next time I hear of a driver preventing laptop overheating will be the first time. If you have some documented evidence to support your claim feel free to post it - I'm ALWAYS anxious to learn. Nobody said writing good drivers was easy, but doing it badly can have worse fallout than just a crap refresh rate.

It appears that the NVIDIA 196.75 drivers are causing fan control problems in their video cards, according to some StarCraft II beta testers and reported by IncGamers. The problems have lead to extreme overheating problems, with users reporting temps as high as 104 Celsius.

The issue isn't confined to Starcraft II players, either, potentially affecting any 3D application.

NVIDIA has recommended returning to the 196.32 WHQL drivers, and the latest release has been removed from the NVIDIA webs site.

Driver causing overheating. Rare but not uncommon.  I can't find the laptop example I'm on about. Should I find it, I'll let you know.
Those links go to prove my point, not yours. Newer video card driver updates caused overheating in the video cards. It had nothing to do with general laptop overheating, and had you not updated to those drivers there would not have been a problem.

As I've said twice in this thread - do not update drivers unless you need to. NEXT. Quote
just quoting my original question too. can i get such a software which can scan the laptop for its present versions of drivers, and at least can give me a source of downloading the latest.

If I have to look for updated drivers I use SIW (http://www.gtopala.com/) to check the hardware and then I look on the manufacturer's webpage of the hardware in question.

I do not use automated software. It's bound to go wrong at some point. Even Windows Update occasionally gives me horrible drivers for hardware.

Some computer/hardware manufacturers offer to scan your computer for you if you don't know what drivers to pick. Creative for one does that. Can be useful if you just can't seem to find the right driver.

If for some reason you need up-to-date drivers you could check out the chip in question, see who the manufacturer is and then go onto the manufacturer's webpage. They will often offer "generic" drivers for hardware. May or may not work. Only make use of this option if you're absolutely certain that the drivers for your computer are unsuitable.

Anyhow, to answer your original question:

Quote
actually my friend is using dell inspiron 1545 and when we cheked for the driver updates the www.dell.com gives the latest drivers of 2010 only. no newer updates.
can we get it from any other source.

If there are no updates after 2010, the product is most likely End Of Life or they're only sticking to major updates. Either way, it's probably no use checking back.

What I wrote earlier on only really applies to hardware that's STILL being supported. It's often safe to assume that for products which are EOL the drivers you're given are stable. Quote from: Allan on January 09, 2012, 08:48:05 AM

As I've said twice in this thread - do not update drivers unless you need to. NEXT.

Unless you got a CD with that exact driver on it and installed it from the get-go in which case it's not a new driver, now is it?

You're obviously not a gamer if you think (videocard) drivers should never be updated. Some drivers can give a huge increase in performance.

The OP's question wasn't about whether it was wise to upgrade drivers or not, it was about him wanting to know how he could download drivers and look for updates when he wanted to despite whether it would be wise or not.

Im looking for an update for the Mobile Intel 4 Series Express CHIPSET Family.  Sounds simple, right?  Go to the intel download site and get one.  Unfortunately, I have a Vaio VGN-NS20E/S which has some SORT of custom component and the intel site advises me not to download the driver.  Tried contacting Sony about it, never heard back from them.

Anyone got any ideas how I can update the driver?  Failing that, is there any other option?

Solve : Drivers Search Help?

Hi, everyone! We have made a nice and neat website which aims to help you to find drivers for your equipment. Right now we are adding drivers in our website, so if you want us to help you find rare driver, drop a post in this topic, or in our website: http://driversworld.us/ . We will be glad to hear your feedback about our project.Nice, uncomplicated website design. Aren't you contradicting the purpose of your website when you write, "The safest way to install drivers is to download them only from manufacturer's website!"? You should edit it to include that you are getting all your drivers from the manufacturer's website. In many places I noticed that you just gave a link to the official driver/support page of the manufacturer-that's good.

I did notice some grammatical errors in your website, which suggests it was unprofessionally made, for EXAMPLE "To obtain the requested information you can visit third-party resource - the official website of the manufacturer Fargo. There is latest on this hour software for your hardware." Your legal agreement: http://driversworld.us/app/page/?page=agreement also contains such errors-be sure to correct them.

The next time I have to install drivers I'll check out your website and see how it goes. Thanks for your feedback!

Thank you! The last thing the web needs is another driver website using SEO to appear before the manufacturer's page.  The funny thing is, if there weren't so many "helpful" driver sites, we wouldn't need them because the manufacturer's page for a query wouldn't be beneath 3 pages of the bloody things. I saw many driver websites while I was building my own, and I can say that they are not better than mine: the main problem is that they get drivers from UNSAFE sources, so you can download viruses, malware, and other nasty stuff instead of drivers.

Solve : Viruses embedded in device drivers...?

Answer»

I have been shopping for a WIRELESS N adapter for my laptop recently. With so many consumer electronic devices coming from foreign countries which so blatantly attempt to hack us, is it possible for them to embed viruses in device drivers? This has been topic of concern. Quick answer is 'Yes'. However, the rash of Malware currently out there is coming over then Internet. You need to worry more about the sites your visit.

This observation is both my own PERSONAL observations as well as the consensus of many others. Don't worry too much about then embedded firmware threat. Right now it is the myriad** or more malicious web sites out there. And yes, I have many external devices from unknown pleas with embedded firmware. But the infections I get come from web sites.

** myriad = 10,000.

Well, it WOULD definitely be possible to embed a virus into a setup executable, seeing as adware is already rampant in programs like the "Ask Toolbar" in various setup EXEs. Personally I dislike the client SOFTWARE shipped with these dongles, so I manually install the drivers by selecting the .INF from Device Manager.
Here are the top ten WiFi dongles of 2011:
http://wireless-adapter-review.toptenreviews.com/
Cisco, Belkin, Buffalo, DLink, and Netgear are among the most reputable wireless networking equipment manufacturers. Thanks, folks, for your THOUGHTS. Embedding a virus into a setup exe would probably be easy for most anti-virus apps to spot; but I wonder about a virus actually embedded in the driver (.inf or whatever).  I agree with you, Trans. I have often used Device Manager as you suggest to go around the setup exe. Windoze's built-in wireless connection manager does a better job of creating and managing the connection than the crappy utilities that some of the wireless nic mfrs ship with their drivers.
Quote

is it possible for them to embed viruses in device drivers

Possible, yes. Probable, no. Especially not if it is a signed driver.so again, the importance of signed drivers, but I'm afraid that not all the installed drivers installed on my computer are digitally signed. What to do?

Both those items have information in the user manual about power supply. Notice that the Video Graphics car you chose consumes a lot of power. Also, both of these are now getting old already. We are almost in 2012 and you will have have stuff that is three years old.

You can calculate the Power Supply on-line. Here is one on newegg:
Power Supply Calculator
I'd go along with the general ASUS recommendation for the mobo. The power supply is something to consider but only after everything else has been specified (otherwise you don't know what you need).

The disk subsystem is commonly overlooked - it isn't simply a matter of hooking up a drive of the right capacity. A good smart controller (not the built into motherboard one) and good drives can make a big difference. For anything other than a gaming machine more so that the GPU. A quality SAS controller and drives are not cheap but transform a sluggish machine into fast and responsive one. Quote from: lelindaedwards on December 06, 2011, 03:33:17 PM

Anyway, I guess that is in reference to my avatar. Not sure what the colours really have to do with an association with any particular GROUP (real or imagined). I mean, Grass is green, but do you assume that a gardener is in league with the Illuminati? How are they colours of the illuminati anyway, seems unfair for them to take half the visible spectrum. Or maybe that's how they operate. Take control of half the visible electromagnetic spectrum, delete Drivers from their enemies PCs, and... well, I'm sure it all fits together some way. Maybe they will make a painting.

Taking the fifth aye?
My rights, and the rights of my government are dictated by the Bill of Rights and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms of Canada, Not the U.S Constitution. It's really nice for people to make assumption to the contrary, though. I'm not sure how the fifth amendment really fits in here, anyway.

Go ahead & deny the truth.
Well I certainly cannot deny the colours contained in my avatar. I can certainly deny that they have any relation to that which you've arbitrarily labelled the colours as indicating. If you must consider it a formal protest against those darned illuminati, stealing half the colour spectrum for their nefarious underground government puppetry!

In what way is it clear?

Also, I don't know if I'd qualify. I used Illuminatus back in the day, is that a prerequisite?

Anyway, I've done a bit more research on this. It seems the Illuminati have a very colourful history.I think I finally understand the Illuminati. It's all so clear to me, once you understand the history.

See, Once upon a time(a Thursday), in the Magical land of America, there were two royal sisters. And they were like wizards. One of them, the elder, was responsible for raising the sun for the day, and the younger was responsible for raising the moon at night. (Kepler be damned). Over time, the younger sister became resentful, People went to work and played during her sisters glorious day, but shunned, and slept her sisters beautiful night. Also, she had to work all night so she never got to see things like David Letterman. I mean, really, she wasn't missing much, but people crave that which they do not have, and she couldn't watch it so she really wanted too.

One fateful Night... Or, well, Morning I guess, the younger sister refused to lower the moon to make way for the dawn. This kinda sucked for everyone, people thought it was like daylight savings time and they forgot or something. The older tried to reason with her, but the bitterness in the young ones heart had transformed her into a wicked witch of darkness, Cribbage Moon. Her special powers were primarly with being really really good at cribbage... and of course being able to take on any form at any time and having psychokinetic powers rivaling even the fictitious abilities of Superman. So yeah, anyway, she vowed to shroud the world in darkness (she was very goth, I guess, very emo about it- pale skin, bad makeup, etc) The older sister was all "Not cool" and the younger was like "is too" and the older responded "is not", etc. So anyway, the older sister stomped off and used the most POWERFUL magic known to the people at the time, the ELEMENTS of  Harmony. They were pretty colours. They didn't actually represent elements, really, that was just a convenient moniker. I mean really, that would be pretty ANNOYING to try to gather all the elements in the periodic table, as well as pretty unexciting. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't find anything particularly magical or exciting about Boron. So anyway, she took these 'elements', which were really just colourful gemstones, and shined a bright flashlight through them. Cribbage Moon- who was distracted playing Cribbage- looked up and had her eyes assaulted by a bright multi-hued light. Remember she was pretty goth/emo so she sorta thought she was a vampire, and the light had the psychosamatic effect of making her explode. For some reason, she just lost her outer cribbage expert shell. She also lost the ability to boil water or turn a cat into a Ferrari by looking at it, but those were pretty overrated powers anyway; I mean, you can only turn so many cats into Ferrari's and Bugatti's before you either get bored or run out of cats.

How does this factor into the Illuminati? Well, it's pretty clear! The ultimate goal of the Illuminati is not necessarily to control the world (which they effectively do, allegedly) but rather to seek out the Elements of Harmony Playset so that  they can harness their power to become world-famous cribbage players. The fact is, though, that the colours of the elements- Red, Green, and Yellow- that are now used to indicate the Illuminati, err... well, somewhere,  I guess. I couldn't find any citations about their symbolic colours. I guess you had inside information. Nobody knows what the other colours were, though. I mean it's a safe assumption that they were, say, Purple, Blue and Orange, Maybe Indigo too. Some might say there is an Ultra-violet element, but nobody has seen it... well, it being outside the visible light spectrum I guess that makes sense.

But there was a 6th element that nobody knew about. This is what the Illuminati is truly after. The 6th Element, held by Twilight Sparkle in the Magical land of Equestria. However, in order to access the land of Equestria, The illuminati will need to create a Stargate. I have created a artist mockup of what travelling to Equestria might look like, which can be viewed here.

It's worth noting that Equestria get's it's name naturally from the sentient inhabitants being largely comprised of equines; more or less it's a parallel dimension. Anyway, turns out they have their own crazy backstory involving some  Nightmare Moon, elements, yadda yadda, sealed in the moon for a 1000 years to return on the longest day of the thousandth year, etc. Anyway, what is important to the  Illuminati is to get a hold of that Element. With that Element they will unlock not only the power to control the Earth, but the power to control everything, including alternate universes; this includes not only Philadelphia, but also Fillydelphia- not just Stalingrad, but also Stalliongrad. Not just Manhattan, but also Manehattan, Not just buckingham palace, but also Geldingham palace (whose purpose is a bit less exciting and something many a colt recoil from, but let's not get into that). Anyway you get the idea, I would hope.

Additionally, and perhaps equally important, once they have all 6 elements, they will have the ability to be like, really good at cribbage. And If that isn't everybody's life-long dream, well, I don't know what to say.

But time is running out for The Illuminati. They have been trying for the last thousand years to access The magical Land of Equestria, but once the thousand years are over, the universes will be out of alignment (it's complicated, involves a lot of trigonometry and stuff) and it will no longer be possible to dimension jump using a fictitious wormhole. That's why they have become more aggressive. For the Illuminati, The Clock is ticking.

Seriously, How much time did you waste on that short little story? Not important either way..

Honestly though, I can see in your avatar a few more things that I wasn't really looking for.

1)Besides the colors that are clearly there(Green, Red, Yellow) There are the others that you were pointing out as well..

Purlple: Known for it's roots in royal families(Privileged Illuminati)  throughout the history of virtually all civilizations.
Blue: You're more than likely referring to royal blue that was generally worn by royal women(See above).
Orange: To represent the Sunrise & Sunset.
Indigo: Clearly what is referred to as Royal Blue.

2)The mountain witch(I mean which, pardon me.) is often seen as sacred & also happens to resemble the pyramids.

3) the hidden 3(I mean B) in your avatar that represents the trinity.

Nice try but there is no need to hide your cowardly & secretive ways, Then again that how the first Italiano's(I mean Illuminati) have done things since the first secretive takeover of Egypt. Quote from: MannyC on November 30, 2011, 02:24:01 PM

Use your snapshots. That's what they're for.

Failing that, I would have probably tried a system restore.

Solve : Intel Graphics Accelerator?

Answer»

I'm experiencing problems watching videos on YouTube. The videos get interrupted (blacked out), and I get an onscreen message telling me that my Display driver Intel Graphics Accelerator for WINDOWS Vista (R) stopped responding. What am I supposed to do to fix this problem?

Also, why is it telling me about Widows Vista (R), when I'm in fact using Windows 7?

Any help would be much appreciated!I was getting similar messages while I was playing games. It turned out that I had a Windows Vista display driver installed, despite the fact that I was running Win 7 on that machine. What you have to do, is to get the latest Windows 7 drivers for your system.

Do you know the exact model of your Intel GPU?

No - SORRY I don't know the exact model of my Intel GPU. Do you know how I might find out?

Also - if I can't find it, can I still fix the problem and how? What is the motherboard Make and Model # ? ?

The proper driver will be at the MBoard manuf. site...Make & Model are:

Gigabyte GA G41MT S2P (Rev: 1.3)Vista Drivers...

Note: Thes are for the 32bit version of Vista...if you have the 64bit ver. you need to select it from the OS BOX on the RIGHT...Please excuse my ineptitude, but I'm still a bit unsure of which one to download. I'm using Windows 7, but I think that my current driver is Windows Vista (R)? So do I download Win7 or Vista? Also I'm not sure whether I am 32 or 64 bit. Basic features of my Computer tell me that I'm using a 32-bit Operating System, but my booklet on my Intel Pentium Processor, gives my model as Intel 64 Architecture. Not sure what this all means? You need the 32bit Win7 graphics Driver.Thanks. Also - do I need to uninstall my old Intel Graphics Accelerator (and if so how do I do it)?Not neccessary...DLoad the new one to the Desktop...double clik the file to run it...then re-boot when it completes.Much Obliged - Thanks!!Anytime...Welcome ABOARD !

Some MAY be free.
Otherwise, it is best to go to the site of the manufacturing of the SCSI card your have. Or do you have a MAC?
If you want to put Windows on a INTEL based Apple, PLEASE say so.This device is usually the hard drive controller.
Yes, search your manufacturer support drivers website.
