Solve : emailing address book to another computer? |

Answer» Great. I will try it tonite. Can hardly wait to go home (for many other reasons, too - especially cuz it is snowing like crazy here - close to Youngstown, OH.) Thanks again for your help!Ohio is getting buried right now...1-3 feet in some areas ! !Yep, many counties are under Level 2 or Level 3 Snow Emergency. My mother was scheduled into Port Columbus at 5:20 p.m. today, returning from a VISIT with my sister. I am supposed to pick her up at the airport. CURRENTLY, the flight is delayed. I don't know yet WHETHER she'll actually arrive later today or not until tomorrow. I'm kinda hoping the flight will be delayed until tomorrow. It'll be an inconvenience to her, but I'm not looking forward to driving to the airport today and taking her to her home in Perry COUNTY, which is still under Level 3 Emergency. Solve : Gaming PC Opinions? |
|
Answer» So basically I have around $800 to spend on a new computer, I'm ordering all the parts off of newegg and I was wondering if anyone would change anything about it or if its good as is, im using it to play video games and do school work basically. The games I want to play on it are like crysis on med/high quality. I suggest a better PSU (known brand and some more juice), ditching the sound card as most onboard CHIPS are equal to or better than that one, and either the Q6600 or E8200 CPU instead of that one. It's not usually worth spending more for faster RAM as the speed isn't usually that noticeable. I like that motherboard very much and was considering it for my own build. |

Solve : what do i need in a laptop? |
|
Answer» I'm a truck driver and i want a laptop to take on the road. I don't know what kind, speed or memory size would be right for me. I need a Navigation device (eg. Rand McNally), be able to check my e-mail, and able to pick up WI-FI @ flying J. Our home computer has Norton and we are happy with that. Can you get that on a portable? Also I'd like to be able to put the pictures that I take with my phone (Motorola- razor) on the computer, and put a CD of eg. Hoyle card games - or other games. What do i need in a laptop?Well, if buying a new laptop, you'll surely be getting Windows Vista; there are five versions of Windows Vista. I think Vista Home Premium would be fine for you. With Vista, be sure to get a computer with at LEAST 1GB of memory. And, 2GB may well be worth paying a little more. ... Also I'd like to be able to put the pictures that I take with my phone (Motorola- razor) on the computer, ... I have no experience with this myself. A friend of mine does it all the time. As I understand it, with his cell phone service, if he emails a picture out of his phone to himself, he has to pay a charge for it. But, just recently, they got a new laptop. This one has built in Blue Tooth capability. The OLD one did not. This laptop can communicate with his cell phones! Now, he can access the photos in the phone, and simply copy them straight to the new laptop via Blue Tooth. You might want to look into it. Maybe Blue Tooth on laptops is standard stuff now - I don't know. Sorry that I can't be more specific about it. I just wanted to call your attention to the possibility - maybe soybean or someone else here with experience with this will comment. Bluetooth is available on many multimedia laptops nowadays. However, a more reliable and faster way would be to use USB - the cable may have come with the phone or it may be sold separately (roughly £5 here). Alternatively, if the phone uses a memory card, the laptop COULD have a built in card reader, which is another way to transfer files.Quote from: Calum on March 02, 2008, 12:41:39 PM Bluetooth is available on many multimedia laptops nowadays. I don't remember the details, but there was some difficulty with that. It sounded to me like the phone company was trying to make it so that the only option was to have to pay to send them. I'm really not sure though. One thing is sure, when I saw him do it with Blue Tooth, it was very convenient. No looking for a wire! Just curious, how can someone mobile (on the road) connect to the internet? I mean, where's the access point?Quote from: neljan on March 04, 2008, 03:54:37 PM Just curious, how can someone mobile (on the road) connect to the internet? http://www.flyingj.com is the one he mentioned. Oh I see, thanks Will.Hmm, it's a bit pricey: http://www.fjcomm.com/internet-hotspots.aspQuote from: soybean on March 04, 2008, 08:13:18 PM Hmm, it's a bit pricey: http://www.fjcomm.com/internet-hotspots.asp I saw that. $20 a month is not too much more than DSL plans. Here is what is interesting though. As I understand it, many hotels now offer wi-fi for free - an amenity for businessmen and vacationers. Yet these places charge the truck drivers for it. In one market they need to offer it as an attraction, to get more business. In the other, it is a way to generate more revenue. Interesting how that works. Quote from: WillyW on March 04, 2008, 09:38:12 PM Quote from: soybean on March 04, 2008, 08:13:18 PMA Flying J is located only about 7 miles from where I live. Besides selling the diesel fuel that truckers need, it has a nice restaurant and small retail store that sells various items, and a large parking lot where truckers who stop to sleep overnight in their cabs can park.Hmm, it's a bit pricey: http://www.fjcomm.com/internet-hotspots.aspI saw that. $20 a month is not too much more than DSL plans. We also have Panera Bread restaurants in my AREA. They are Wi-Fi hotspots and charge nothing for access. I would have thought Flying J might do the same for truckers.Hey, do you think Backroads is on the road again or something |

Solve : mac cloning and arp cache? |
|
Answer» Hi mac cloning is one method that the attcker use to change his mac to another mac by simple command as in linux can change the mac. the arp cache read the original mac from the bios when pc startup. this cache is read write then why the attacker can change the mac. i think if can change arp cache to read only the attacker can not change his mac and we can prevent from mac cloning but i do not know if i can change the sitting of arp cache to read only. and why this cache put as read write. any body can help me please What are you trying to accomplish here? Are you trying to prevent computers you manage from changing their MAC address? If yes, why?not to derail the thread, but i converted the binary in your sig deerpark and i must say...huh?It's a reference to my old avatar/sig. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_Spaghetti_Monster I am studing spoofing methods and searching for new method to prevent from arp spoofing espically to mac cloning while the attacket change his mac address.Considering an attacker will usually be using his own computer, how did you envision write protecting the ARP cache on a computer he has full control over? There are plenty of tools out there designed for detecting ARP poisoning. I think this is the way you NEED to go because it isn't feasible to prevent computers you have no control over from changing their MAC addresses. I miss FSM..... As long as you hold His Pastaness in your heart he will never truly be GONE. I think you do not understand me. i do not search about how can prevent my pc from mac cloning .i am seraching for universal solution if we change the cache that contains the mac in os then nobody can change his mac and then mac cloning can prevent i hope you understand meSorry that i can't help but thought of responding here since i had a "arp cache" issue that has just arisen and i posted here in "other" not knowing what kind of issue this is but have had zero responses. There is nothing in any of my messages that mentions the "mac address" but mentions the network administrator or person who manges my network to CLEAR the "arp cache". Can what is happening to me be similar to what is happening in your case? i did a google search and found some information about dumping the "arp cache", but following the instructions given results in another MS warning sound and a message which as often happens makes little or no sense to me what-so-ever. Good luck with finding an answer to you question. i'll KEEP my eye on this post to see if anything seems relative to my situation.First of all, changing one's MAC address can be useful in network diagnostics so disabling that ability is a bad idea. Second of all, there are 1000s of operating systems out there, it would be impossible to make them all agree to disable the feature. Third of all, even if somehow all operating system did agree on this many operating systems are open source. So anyone COULD make a patch and re-enable the ability to change MAC addresses. The real problem here is that the current internet architecture was never meant for the kind of use it is seeing now. It was never designed with security in mind for example, the internet did start out as a trusted network after all. ARP spoofing is one of the symptoms of these problems. I don't think anything less than a complete rethinking of how the internet is supposed to be structured is really going to fix this.Deerpark, "I don't think anything less than a complete rethinking of how the internet is supposed to be structured is really going to fix this." Agreed. But who is left with the task of doing that? It occurs to me that the same thing could be said about government. \ K |

Solve : fsb and speed? |
|
Answer» i want to know wat role fsb play in speed... actually a dealer told me tat a dell lap have 800 fsb while other all 667....This guy was trying to sell you a Dell huh? Never trust a WORD that man say ever again, because he is either completely INCOMPETENT or flat out lying to you. Not all Dells run with a 800 mhz FSB and all other laptops doesn't have 667 mhz FSB. It completely depends on the motherboard/processor combination. There are plenty of non Dell laptops with 800 mhz FSBs and some even faster. I believe the fastest Core 2s supports a 1600 mhz FSB, but I'm not sure those have been made in a laptop version. Solve : Thunderbird & email? |
|
Answer» * This was my original question, trying to set up Thunderbird & AOL - but if you read through my question has changed *
Just upgraded? Quote to recieve emails from my AOL email account, I keep getting a 'login to imap.aol.com failed' message. I was just browsing around in the Thunderbird forums. I don't remember seeing your specific problem with AOL mentioned, but I wasn't LOOKING for it either. You might want to have a look around there. http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=39 Usually, right after an upgrade, people post there about failure to connect, etc., and often the first recommendation is to check the firewall. Could your firewall be blocking the new version of Thunderbird? Hello WillyW, thanks for your reply. Quote from: WillyW on February 28, 2008, 11:58:56 AM Just upgraded? No, first time user. I've registered/posted in the forum you suggested, thanks for that.Aha... when I tried it with the AOL email account that I have my broadband connection registered to, it worked, however it's my wifes email address so it's not much use to me GRRRRRRRRR! The AOL email account that I am trying to recieve emails from using Thunderbird is an AOL account that I set up online through AOL's website (like gmail, hotmail etc). Basically, when you join AOL they give you a master screen name (email address) of which you can add different email accounts to using their software, but I don't have the software installed because it never worked & I use Firefox anyway. I just called AOL to see if they can add a screen name to my existing account & they say it can only be done through the software installed on my computer, unbelievable! Another thing I find unbelievable is that I have found no documentation with REGARDS to the 2 different types of AOL accounts, it's like this has never happened before? to anyone!!! Is AOL & Thunderbird so unpopular that no one has come across this problem enough to WARRANT a mention in the setup guides on AOL/Thunderbird? So, my question has now changed: Does anyone know of any email service that I can use with Thunderbird to send & recieve emails through? Can be anything that works.... Anything.... Even something like @sh*t.com gmail works great in TBird...even multiple accounts.Hey buddy, thanks, I'm on it.........Quote from: neljan on February 28, 2008, 02:40:27 PM
You're welcome. Quote I've registered/posted in the forum you suggested, thanks for that. Very active forums. Lots to be learned there. You'll like it. If you use Firefox, its forum is there too. Regarding your other question above: (in case anyone else is reading along) Thunderbird can work with a lot of different email accounts. I use it with Hotmail, Yahoo, and Gmail. Patio's recommendation of Gmail is probably the best choice - easiest to set up, less to fiddle with and thus less to continue to fiddle with as they 'upgrade'. Check out: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Using_Gmail_with_Thunderbird_and_Mozilla_Suite Further, you might like to visit: http://webmail.mozdev.org I see AOL listed there! Never really paid it any attention before, as I've never subscribed to AOL. So I have no experience with using their AOL extension. They do a good job with providing clear instructions though. Let us know if you ever try their AOL extension, and how well it works. Hey guys That was strange, I found Mozdev & was setting it all up just as WillyW suggested it. I managed to get gmail working fine (thanks Patio) but I didn't like the @googlemail.com domain - too long. If I could have had just gmail I would have. So I've now set up Thunderbird to recieve my 4 hotmail accounts instead (AOL still didn't work Willy - got a 'password sending failed' message this time). Anyway, everythings sorted now so thanks for all your help... Do you know if this Mozdev is a trial? I remember I used freepops before, after 30 days the 'free' part turned out to be a load of BS.Quote from: neljan on February 28, 2008, 10:41:23 PM ... Great minds think alike. Quote
googlemail.com ? Is that what they issue now? Mine is just gmail.com Quote So I've now set up Thunderbird to recieve my 4 hotmail accounts instead (AOL still didn't work Willy - got a 'password sending failed' message this time). Head back to the Mozillazine forums and see if you can find it with a search. If not, post it! You can't be the only one out there trying it. Somebody should have something to say about it. Whatever you learn there, please let us know here. Quote Anyway, everythings sorted now so thanks for all your help... You are referring to the two add-on extensions, right? You probably have Webmail 1.3.1 and Webmail Hotmail 1.2.14 when you look in Thunderbird's Tools->Add-ons. Those are what I use for Hotmail. Have been for a while now. Originally downloaded from http://webmail.mozdev.org/installation.html They are free. I think you can even get the source code, if you want it. Here is what to expect though - this is the down side. Microsoft periodically 'improves' something on their end with Hotmail. This breaks the extensions' ability to send and/or receive your Hotmail email. The developer MUST wait until he either receives a good log from someone, or until his own Webmail quits working. His might not break until days after yours does.... MS has more than one Hotmail server and their 'improvements' do not get to all their servers at the same time. There will be a flurry of messages in that forum. There is also a thread dedicated just to the Webmail extension. When it gets too long, they start a new one. It is not something that is ignored for a long time. Not at all. The developer seems to always get right on it, as soon as he has what he needs to work with. If ever you think it is broken, check that forum. Then he releases a beta. See: http://groups.google.com/group/thunderbird-webmail-extension/files (You might want to bookmark that. By the way, I see something there that looks like AOL stuff, dated just yesterday! ) He'll wait a couple days for some people to test and comment. When he feels it is all good, he does whatever he does such that your software is auto-notified that a new release is available. You can upgrade either with the built-in automatic way online, or go to either the web page or google group page and download the file, then import it from your drive. It is not a bad idea to grab a copy and keep it on your drive, just in case the next time an upgrade comes out, you have trouble with it. If you have a copy of the previous .xpi file, you can easily drop back a version. I've done this, when the 'old' version was not completely broken. I have had the window pop up and tell me that there is a new version available and never had a problem. Still worked fine. Other times, I've gotten failures, checked the forum, seen what was going on, and waited it out. If you don't know what to expect, it is worse. If you do, it is a minor pain in the *censored*. Since (so far) gmail doesn't require an extension, this is why I commented earlier that I agreed with patio's suggestion. You never have to upgrade the extension because it is broken. There is an extension available for gmail, but I've forgotten why, since it is not necessary to use it to send/receive using gmail. I'm glad you've got a solution that is working for you now. Mate that is really useful & very important to know. A lot of people wouldn't have bothered to take the time to EXPLAIN in such detail as you have so thank you very much for your time - I really appreciate the heads up (no doubt saved me a few headaches in the future aswell). Quote from: WillyW on February 29, 2008, 11:45:10 AM You probably have Webmail 1.3.1 and Webmail Hotmail 1.2.14 Indeed Quote from: WillyW on February 29, 2008, 11:45:10 AM Microsoft periodically 'improves' something on their end with Hotmail. Roughly how often would you say? Quote from: WillyW on February 29, 2008, 11:45:10 AM It is not something that is ignored for a long time. Not at all. The developer seems to always get right on it Sounds good. Quote from: WillyW on February 29, 2008, 11:45:10 AM Then he releases a beta. He'll wait a couple days for some people to test and comment. When he feels it is all good, he does whatever he does such that your software is auto-notified that a new release is available. Cor, you know your stuff! this must of happened quite a few times then? so really, when it all goes down, all I have to do (minimum) is wait until the new version has been tested & the developer issues the update recognised by Thunderbird? do the add on's work the same way as TB? automatically informing me that theres an update available or would I have to keep clicking tools > add-ons > find updates? Quote from: WillyW on February 29, 2008, 11:45:10 AM It is not a bad idea to grab a copy and keep it on your drive, just in case the next time an upgrade comes out, you have trouble with it. If you have a copy of the previous .xpi file, you can easily drop back a version. I've done this, when the 'old' version was not completely broken. That's what I do with everything I can, backup everything. Good advice. Quote from: WillyW on February 29, 2008, 11:45:10 AM I have had the window pop up and tell me that there is a new version available and never had a problem. Still worked fine. I think this answers my previous question Quote from: WillyW on February 29, 2008, 11:45:10 AM I'm glad you've got a solution that is working for you now. Thanks WillyW! you're a scholar!Quote from: neljan on February 29, 2008, 12:18:28 PM ... hmm.. 50/50 I'd say. Half the time an update comes out and the old version was still working fine. The other half of the time that a new update comes out, it was because MS broke things. That's just an estimation based on gut feeling. I haven't tried to track it. How often do updates come out? It varies. Looking back through my copies of the update files... looking at the file dates for what that is worth: I see one dated Jan 28 2008. Prior to that, Dec 4 Then Nov 13 Then Nov 2 . I seem to remember this time. This might have been a time when it was broken. Then Sep 25 Then Sep 14 Then June 13 Quote so really, when it all goes down, all I have to do (minimum) is wait until the new version has been tested & the developer issues the update recognised by Thunderbird? do the add on's work the same way as TB? automatically informing me that theres an update available or would I have to keep clicking tools > add-ons > find updates? Go to: Thunderbird Tools->Options->Advanced->Update See: Automatically check for updates to: Thunderbird Installed Add-ons I check both 'on'. I have had the notice pop up, that a new version of an add-on is available. If memory serves me correctly, it happens when Thunderbird is loading - not later after you have Thunderbird up and running. I seem to think that I have also found the new version by checking it myself manually. Perhaps the auto-notification doesn't work 100% of the time, or perhaps I was typing something else and didn't see it, and accidentally closed it. I really don't know. What I do, is not worry about it. Some day it will hit me, "Gee, it seems like it has been a good long time since I clicked on that thing to check to see if there were any new versions. I'll do that right now." By the way, if (when) it fails one time to connect, etc., don't assume that it is "broken". I think MS has little hiccups often with hotmail. It doesn't even phase me if it fails. I just click it again, and go about my business. If it fails consistently, over a period of time.... that is when I start wondering. First thing to check is to be sure that I didn't phat phinger the password! Did you check out that file with yesterday's date on it, at the Google Group for the Webmail developer? I'm wondering if it is newer than whatever you were trying, and if it would get you going with your AOL stuff. lol phat phinger it! Nuh, I'm not gonna bother with AOL now, I'm happy atm - we'll see how it goes... Thanks again mate for answering all the questions! You're very welcome. For anybody else reading along: I see comments here: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=3274448#3274448 regarding AOL changing and errors. Feb 28. New version for AOL available Feb 29. "Comodo Dragon" is the Webmail developer. |

Solve : What is the wrost virus? |
|
Answer» In PC land. hahaHomework?or you just curious?i think the worst by far is the misspelling virus. it seems as though Cowz has aquired it, but as far as i know it hasnt spred verry fare annd.......o krap....eye think i juust got et.I've been Googling for the wrost virus - not found any info on it yet You didn't search well enough...hehehe When the ctrl+alt+ del keys or the resetA virus can't destroy a hdd sector, it could at most overwrite it. If it overwrote the first sectors it would make your computer unable to BOOT but in most cases this could easily be repaired without any loss of data by reinstalling the boot loader. Boot sector viruses are btw. probably the oldest type of virus and is all but extinct today. I think the question about 'the worst virus' is impossible to answer without a more precise definition of worst. To my knowledge, no virus have yet done any unrecoverable hardware damage. The only one that have come CLOSE was the Chernobyl virus that could wipe the BIOS on some motherboards. But even then the BIOS could simply be reflashed and the computer would be up and running again. So if you by worst, mean most damage to a single computer the title will go to all the viruses that have tried to delete data. I'm guessing this is well over a 1000 viruses. If you by worst mean the virus that have made the most damage in term of money (i.e. loss of revenue, productivity, cleanup and so on) the title probably belongs to the ILOVEYOU worm. (Which technically isn't a virus at all). It is estimated the total cost for businesses was upwards of 5 - 10 billion dollars. Hello Deerpark! Quote from: Deerpark on February 25, 2008, 10:21:50 AM That's a hoax you've dug up there Broni. What does the ILOVEYOU worm do to an infected computer? Where did it originated? And how did they counter it? Thanks! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ILOVEYOU Quote from: jerryheavyarms on February 25, 2008, 10:36:02 AM What does the ILOVEYOU worm do to an infected computer? It overwrote files such as pictures, documents and music with copies of it self. Quote from: jerryheavyarms on February 25, 2008, 10:36:02 AM Where did it originated? It apparently originated from the Philippines and was written by a young computer student called Michael Buen. Quote from: jerryheavyarms on February 25, 2008, 10:36:02 AM And how did they counter it? Thanks! The virus spread via email. The recipient of such an email was ENTICED into opening the mail and clicking the attached file (the actual worm) because it said "I love you" in the subject field of the mail. Once a user was infected the worm send I love you messages to all the user's stored email contacts. The worm created such huge volumes of emails that many large companies and governments had to shut down their email servers. Shutting down email servers was step one in countering the worm since it prevented further spreading. After that it was countered in the same way most malware is countered. Crafty individuals and Anti-virus vendors created software that could detect and remove the worm.Quote from: Deerpark on February 25, 2008, 10:21:50 AM That's a hoax you've dug up there Broni. That's the point I think . . . the title of that thread was also "wrost virus", and it was also a hoax. That's called "humour" Didn't catch the misspelling on the page Broni linked to... guess I should have clicked the image instead of following the link. Well in case anyone comes by who is as dense as me it will at least be clarified that the wrost virus ever is indeed a hoax. Thank you very much, Deerpark! Quote from: elxr06 on February 24, 2008, 10:10:57 PM or you just curious? Just curious Quote from: Broni on February 25, 2008, 08:54:49 AM You didn't search well enough...hehehe I must refine the searches or research the fines That's one gotcha I owe you. I was just smiling at OP misspelling, I googled it, and it was the very first hit, that came up.... |

Solve : What do you think of this one?? |
|
Answer» So I wanted to have my very own pc for a long time for several reasons. Schoolwork, gaming, the FACT that my sister won't be able to get access to my pc (probably the most important one ), and several other reasons. I was thinking about saving money for this one. I've sent my curriculum vitae for a job that will pay me €200,- once a month . I just want your opinion about this baby here (awwwwww, it's a boy ). Well, what do you think? I don't think that's a good deal to be honest. secondedMaybe you're right guys, but I don't have much money to spend. Plus the fact that I don't know the better parts for my computer. Still, I'm willing to save more money for a DECENT pc. Start with a budget of what you can spend... You've listed what it's needed for so we'll go from there... |

Answer» I heat my HOUSE by wood, which means we get a lot of dust inside ( & worse I e'spect!) I know you can buy metal enclosures to keep the dust out, but at $800/£400 a time I think maybe its not so difficult to build one........ so does anyone have experince of doing this? I'm a cabinet maker , also with some experience of metalwork so I, m not so concerned about how to construct an enclosure, more about how to size it? prapps there's some formula or rule-of thumb to do with how much heat can PASS through a certain amount of surface area?? |

Solve : Employers and email? |
|
Answer» Is it possible for my employer to get copies of or read my email from my personal yahoo account if I sign onto it from work and if so how would I know it? Lately, it seems that when I SEND an email from my yahoo account (from my workstation) it is delayed by a day or two or I get failure messages that the recipient took too long to respond. My employer reads all emails to and from company accounts but can he read my personal email as well? We are using Window XP Professional Ver 5.1 and roadrunner for internet service. The internet ACCESS goes thru the roadrunner modem and a linyx routerIt is possible. HOWEVER, not very likely. Most corporate setups are used to simply monitor and manage intranet e-mail (mail sent through the companies mail server). Because Yahoo is an online service mail sent and RECEIVED does not go through your companies server it wouldn't be monitored. However, all incoming and outgoing DATA does and it could be read. If it was you'd not be able to tell. The best Rule of Thumb when you are doing anything on a computer in a workplace is that everything can be seen. |

Solve : BIOS HELP!!!!? |
|
Answer» Hi. I am having some difficulties with my bios on my computer. I have a MSI 945GM4 Board with a Intel Duo Core 2 2.13 ghz processor with a 6420 CHIPSET. The problem I am having is accessing the bios. I press the delete key where I am prompted to when starting my computer but nothing happens. I have been told that If I go in the bios I can PLAY around with when my second core starts and I believe that this second core is not running well at all. I am trying to play The Elder Scrolls Oblivion on my computer which should play FULLY but is quite choppy. I have a 500 dollar video card so the graphics are not the problem and also 2 gig of ram. So I guess I have a few questions. The first is how can I access my bios? Secondly, Is it true that I can toy around with the duo core to make it more effective? And finally what is the difference between an Intel Pentium 4 and a Duo Core processor. The game specifically says on the back that the recommended is 3.0 ghz Intel Pentium 4, but I thought a Duo core would outmatch that? Any help, advice, or comments for a "noob" of the bios would greatly be appreciated! |

Solve : Alternative keystrokes by mistake? |
|
Answer» I'm not sure how to describe this problem, but basically somehow I changed what my keyboard puts onto the screen in wordpad (and on the internet). I'm sure I accidently hit a COMBO of keys and now I'm getting Á instead of capital a and Ä instead of capital a. When I hit shift+apostrophe then A I get Ä or I hit apostrophe then A I get Á. What key does the 'Gr' refer to in the alt Gr + control idea? He's referring to the Alt Graph key, which is found on international KEYBOARDS. If you have a domestic US keyboard, then you probably don't have this key. Silly question, but did you try simply restarting? |
