Once there was a greedy king in a kingdom with moral

Answer»

Hi
here you go

THE GREEDY KING

There was a king named Medas in GREECE. He was very greedy. He loved gold most then anything else in the world. One DAY when Medas was counting his gold coins, an Angel told Medas," You are very rich". Medassaid," I am not rich. I have very little gold". The Angel said, "You are not satisfied with so MUCH gold. How much more do you want?" The king said,"I want a boon such that whatever thing I touch, it should become gold. The Angel said,"Ok, from tomorrow morning whatever you touch will become gold".

The next morning, when he touched a table and a chair, it became gold. He was very happy. When he was very hungry and thirsty, the servant brought food and water for him, and as soon as Medas touched food and the water it became gold. Medas started crying because he was very hungry. When his daughter saw him crying, she SAT on his lap and, became a golden statue. Now he wept very bitterly.

The Angel appeared again. The king requested the Angel to take his boon back. He said, "I do not want gold. Man can live without gold but he cannot live without a piece of bread and a glass of water". The Angle took some water in a bowl and said him to sprinkle it on everything that had turned gold. Medas sprinkled the water on his daughter, table, chair, food, and on his clothes. Everything became as they were before.

Moral:So man should not be greedy of gold.

3.

a shopkeeper marks his goods 20% higher than the cost price and allows a discount of 5%. the percentage of his profit is

Answer»

Define x:

Let the COST PRICE of the GOODS be x

Find the selling price with 20% GAIN:

Gain = 20% of x = 0.2x

Selling Price = x + 0.2x = 1.2x

Find the selling price after 5% DISCOUNT:

Discount = 5% of 1.2x = 0.05(1.2x) = 0.06x

Selling Price after discount = 1.2x - 0.06x = 1.14x

Find the gain:

Gain = Selling Price - Cost Price

Gain = 1.14x - x = 0.14x

Find the gain percentage:

Gain percentage = (gain ÷ cost price) x 100

Gain percentage = (0.14x ÷ x) x 100

Gain percentage = 14%

Answer: The profit is 14%

Mr kasam runs a small business of making earthen pots. he makes certain number of pots on daily basis. production cost of each is rs 40 more than 10 times total number of pots, he makes in one day. if production cost of all pots per day is rs 600,find production cost of one pot and number of pots he makes per day

Answer»

Here is the answer

Let Kasam makes 'X' eathen pots PER DAY .
Then the cost of each earthen pots is Rs.(10x + 40 )

From the given condition,

x(10x + 40) = 600

Therefore,

10x^2 +40x - 600 = 0

Dividing by 10 ,

x^2 + 4x - 60 = 0

x^2 + 10x - 6x - 60 = 0

x(x + 10) - 6(x + 10) = 0

(x - 6)(x + 10) = 0

x = -10 or x = 6

But the number of earthen pots cannot be negative.

So, x = -10 is not acceptable.

So,
x = 6

The cost of each earthen pots
= 10x + 40

= 10(6) + 40

= 60 + 40

= 100

Final answer

He makes 6 earthen pots per day and cost of each earthen pots is Rs 100

If x+1/x=4 then x4+1/x4=?

Answer»

Hi ,

It is GIVEN that ,

X + 1/x = 4 ---( 1 )

Do the SQUARE of equation ( 1 ),

( x + 1/x )² = 4²

x² + 1/x² + 2 = 16

x² + 1/x² = 16 - 2

x² + 1/x² = 14 --( 2 )

Again do the square of equation ( 2 ),

( x² + 1/x² )² = 14²

x⁴ + 1/x⁴ + 2 = 196

x⁴ + 1/x⁴ = 196 - 2

= 194

I HOPE this helps you.

If the sum of 8th term of an ap is 64 and the sum of 19 terms is 361 find the sum of n terms

Answer»

S8= 64
8/2 (2A+7d)=64
4(2a+7d)=64
2a+7d=16
2a=16-7d
a=16-7d/2------- (1)

S19= 361
19/2(2a+ 18d)=361
2a+18d=361×2/19
2a+18d= 38
putting equation 1 here,

2×16-7d/2 +18d= 38
32-14d/2+18d=38
16-7d+18d=38
11d= 38-16
d= 22/11
d=2

putting d=2 in eq.1

a=16-7d/2
a=16-14/2
a=1

Sn= n/2{2a+(n-1)d}
Sn=n/2{2×1+(n-1)×2}
Sn=n/2{2+(n-1)2}
Sn=n(1+n-1)
Sn= n^2

20.

Find the sum of all natural number lying between 100 and 1000 which are multiples of 5.

Answer»

\Large{\textbf{\underline{\underline{According\:to\:the\:Question}}}}

Natural numbers are FOLLOWS

105,110,115,120,...............,995

Here we have

First term(a) = 105

Common difference (d) = 110 - 105 = 5

Using formula we have

{\boxed{\sf\:{a_{n}=a+(n-1)d}}}

Hence,

a + (n - 1)d = 995

Putting the VALUES :-

105 + (n - 1)5 = 995

(n - 1)5 = 995 - 105

(n - 1)5 = 890

\tt{\rightarrow n-1=\dfrac{890}{5}}

n - 1 = 178

n = 178 + 1

n = 179

Now,

{\boxed{\sf\:{S_{n}=\dfrac{n}{2}[2a+(n-1)d]}}}

\tt{\rightarrow S_{179}=\dfrac{179}{2}[2(105)+(179-1)(5)]}

\tt{\rightarrow S_{179}=\dfrac{179}{2}[2(105)+(178)(5)]}

= 179[105 + (89) × 5]

= 179[105 + 445]

= 179 × 550

= 98450

21.

22.

Find the sum of all the three digit natural number which are divisible of 7.

Answer»

Heya MATE, Here is UR answer

a(first term) = 105

d =7 (divisiblity by 7)

an= 994

a+(n-1)d=994

105+(n-1)7=994

(n-1) 7=994-105

(n-1) 7=889

n-1=889/7

n-1=127

n=127+1

n=128

Sn=n/2 (a+an)

=  \frac{128}{2} (105 + 994)

= 64 \times 1099

A2=x-y and a5=x+y then the first term of that A.P

Answer»

               a2 = X - y

 Thus, a + d = x - y ........(1)

      Also, A5 = x + y

Thus, a + 4d = x + y ........(2)

(2) - (1), we GET

               3D = 2y

                 d = 2y/3

Substituting 'd' in (1), we get

      a + 2y/3 = x -y

              a = x - 5y/3

7128=2^p x 3^q x 11^r

Answer» \bold{\boxed{HEY!!!}}

HERE IS YOUR ANSWER :-

Lets FIND prime factors of 7128

7128 = 2 × 3564

= 2 × 2 × 1782

= 2 × 2 × 2 × 891

= 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 297

= 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 3 × 99

= 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 3 × 3 × 33

= 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 3 × 3 × 3 × 11

= 2³ × 3⁴ × 11¹

7128 = 2³ × 3⁴ × 11¹

But

7128 = 2^p × 3^q × 11^r

So

2³ × 3⁴ × 11¹ = 2^p × 3^q × 11^r

\bold{\boxed{p = 3 , q = 4 , r = 1}}

Answer»

Let the number be xy , where X is the digit at 10's place and y is the digit at unit's place.

Given,   x+y=10 ---------------------  ( 1 )

Original value = 10x+y

After interchanging the digits the NEW number is yx and it's value is 10y+x .

Given , 10y+x = 10x+y + 36 ----------------- ( 2 )

=> 9y = 9x + 36

=> y = x + 4 -------------------------- ( 3 )

Circles class 10....

Answer»

Assume angle OBD as x

Make 2 constructions - OD and any point Q on the circle to join AQ and DQ

Now, angle ODB is equal to OBD (isosceles triangle DOB) equal to x

Angle AOD = ODB+OBD = 2x

Angle AQD = 2x/2 = x (angle subtended on circle)

AQDC is cyclic quadrilateral

So angle ACD is 180-x (Result 1)

Line segments OD, CD and OC are equal to radius, so ODC is equilateral triangle. Angle ODC is 60 deg. Angle CDP is THUS 180-60-x=120-x

Now, angle CPD+angle CDP=angle ACD. Combining with Result 1,

Angle CPD=180-x-120+x=60 degree

Took less TIME to solve, but forever to write!

Show that out of every four consecutive positive integer one will be divisible by four.

Answer»

Proof by contradiction:

Let the 4 nos be a,a+1,a+2,a+3 - NONE of which are divisible by 4

Nos not divisible by 4 are either 4k+1,4k+2 or 4k+3, where k is a whole number

Case 1: a is 4k+1

Now, a+3 BECOMES 4k+4 which is divisible by 4 - so this case is not possible

Case 2: a is 4k+2

Now, a+2 becomes 4k+4 which is divisible by 4 - so this case is not possible

Case 3: a is 4k+3

Now, a+1 becomes 4k+4 which is divisible by 4 - so this case is also not possible

We have exhausted all possible cases, and in all cases non-divisibility by 4 is impossible.

Hence proved by contradiction
