Solve : Active Directory on Windows Server 2003? |
Answer» If I am adding a server to a domain, do I need to load Active Directory onto that server for it to be accessible from another domain? The only other server in the same domain is accessible from the other domain but this one isn'tWhat exactly do you mean by "accessable"? What are we trying to accomplish? How exactly is your network set up?Basically we have two domains (A & B). There is one server connected to domain B which is accessible by clients on domain A. However, the new server, if joined to domain B can be seen by clients on Domain A but when anyone tries to access it (i.e. open it up) they get a message saying "There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request.". Anyone logged on to domain B can happily look at the servers contents. If I join the server to domain A then anyone logged into domain A can happily open up the server without any bother. |

Solve : More than 4 GB of ram? |
Answer» Hi There will never be any "update" for any 32 bit OS to use more than 4 GB of RAM, because of the simple fact that 2^32 bytes=4 GB. more info please. why 2^32=4 GB? in calculating it is true , but i never see this in science of computer. thanksIn a "32 bit" OS, the addressing scheme uses 32 bits to represent byte addresses. The highest byte address that can be represented in 32 bits is 1111111111111111111111111111111 binary or FFFFFFFF hex or 2^32 or 4,294,967,296. Quote i never see this in science of computer. Then you have not looked very hard! Quote from: Dias de verano on September 08, 2008, 12:34:44 AM in particular this is a bad idea with Server 2003.Why's that? I've never come across this before. k_mohsen, what are you using that needs more than 4GB of RAM anyway? Quote from: Calum on September 08, 2008, 07:06:16 AM Quote from: Dias de verano on September 08, 2008, 12:34:44 AMin particular this is a bad idea with Server 2003.Why's that? I've never come across this before. I should have made it clear it was the /3GB switch I was referring to - with a 32 bit OS and 4 GB of RAM, the switch makes 3 GB of addresses and thus memory available to user mode applications by taking away 1 GB from kernel mode. There are potential problems with hardware drivers not loading because there aren’t enough resources available to kernel mode. You can limit this impact by disabling unused hardware (i.e. disable USB, Firewire, Serial Ports, etc in the BIOS and remove sound cards and other hardware that isn’t needed) and by limiting the functionality of other hardware (i.e. don’t use high resolutions and high color depth for video when you don’t need it). Server 2003 exhibits particularly degraded performance if the kernel is starved of resurces, I have read. http://blogs.msdn.com/oldnewthing/archive/2004/08/05/208908.aspx Quote from: Calum on September 08, 2008, 07:06:16 AM k_mohsen, what are you using that needs more than 4GB of RAM anyway? i don't need this , my pc have 1 GB . but i want to know this. i see this before in some ARTICLE and never think about it , that why only 4GB for 32bit os . thanks to allOK, thanks Dias, was just curious - I thought you meant enabling PAE was a bad idea, which surprised me as I always run with it enabled.. I agree however, the /3GB switch doesn't usually help anyway, and I have heard of it causing some problems. I didn't realise it could cause issues as serious as those you describe though. Thanks for the clarification, you learn something new every day I guess. |

Solve : Server2003? |
Answer» Hi all, win98 client use the AD of a windows server 2003 AD?Active Directory. The Active Directory, sorry, that's how they refer to it in my course Is this question part of your course? Quote from: Calum on September 08, 2008, 02:56:38 AM Is this question part of your course? AKA, Homework? Yes and no, It's the last question of a section on user accounts, but it's not a topic on itself. I tried google, but didn't get any wiser of that. My buddy here next to me even says that it's not even possible to do so, so now I'm a bit CONFUSED and no, not really homework I'm taking this course because of a medical condition that I have, I cannot do my job ANYMORE (I was a butcher). Win 98 and Win 95 is not supported with AD. You can look though the tech STUFF on Microsoft's web site and they have a KB about some regsitry hacks to sort of help it work with AD but keep in mind that Win 98 was never supposed to be used with AD. Ok, many thanks |

Solve : Offline Address book problem with Outlook 2003 on Windows XP? |
Answer» I loaded Outlook 2003 on two PCs here at work. I set up outlook for a domain account and pressed the send/receive button. I GOT the following message "Microsoft Exchange offline address book 0x8004010F". in the Sync Issues folder. I set up outlook for a domain account ...Do you mean set up an email account? Exactly what do you mean by "domain account"? Quote ... the Sync Issues folderAnd, where is that folder? Quote Our company does not use the offline address book facilityAre you saying your address book is online, i.e. out on the Internet? Are you using Outlook in connection with an Exchange server? Quote I tried unchecking the "Download offline address book" box on the "Send/Receive Settings - All Accounts" pageExactly where is that?I set up an account on an XP machine. The account was a domain account (i.e. it was not a local user account). When I tried to do a send/receive, I got the following synchronization log: 16:40:56 Synchronizer Version 11.0.5604 16:40:56 Synchronizing Mailbox 'Fred Bloggs' 16:40:56 Done 16:40:56 Microsoft Exchange offline address book 16:40:56 0X8004010F In outlook 2003 select "go/folder list" to find the "Sync Issues" folder. We connect to an Exchange Server. The Address book, I assume, resides there. I am told that we do not use offline address books. To get to the "Download offline address book" check box go to "Tools/send/receive/send/receive settings/Define send/receive Groups" then highlight "All Accounts" and click "Edit". The checkbox is under "Account Items". If I uncheck it, outlook still seems to want to synchronise the address book. I don't need this. In fact, it's a total pain in the neck to not be able to switch it off. I have tried to remove all of Microsoft Office and to re load it. This does not seem to make any difference. Has anyone any idea how to switch the synchronization of the offline address book off? Thanks I haven't used Outlook in an Exchange server environment, so I can't give you an actual solution. Stay tuned to this channel for awhile; someone else may have a suggestion. If you're willing to so some research, here's the results of a Google search: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=disable+address+book+synchronization+in+Outlook+2003&aq=f&oq= |

Solve : For those of you with negative feelings about Vista.....? |
Answer» www.mojaveexperiment.com I hear too many people complaining about vista before they try it.... so TRY before you decide you dont like something. I know this is directly through windows, but hey, Im sure the reactions are real. Quote from: iamtonsoffun247 on August 26, 2008, 09:58:46 PM www.mojaveexperiment.comThat link displays a page for me that says, "This website has been updated to run on the very latest version of the Microsoft® Silverlight™ (Beta 2) plug-in. Please re-install." I already have Silverlight installed; I'm not going to install that Beta 2 version. Why did you post that link? How does it relate to your topic here? o really? my bad it was workin today for me. It basically shows people who have never used vista, but say how much they "hate it". Then they are introduced to "mojave", which is a fake name for vista, to see what people thought of it. They end up lovin it, and are surprised it is Vista. Its better if watched, but that sucks that you cant watch it w/o DLing the beta. O wait you can watch it w/o the beta, just click the "here" link and watch it that way. Its pretty funny I really like my Vista... well that was until a week ago until it started to get a bit of an attitude But seriously I really like it. I would definately go that way again with my computer. Twylla That link doesnt look too say. Sort of sounds like a trap.I don't like Vista. I have tried it, I have persisted in trying to make it my primary OS, but I just... don't like it. At all. Graphically it LOOKS amazing, but apart from that I just prefer XP. Most people who dont want Vista havent actually tried it. Actually, and I can not stress this point enough, most people who complain about Vista now also complained about XP when it was first released. I didnt like XP for a long time. I use Vista on my laptop, and have seldom had problems that I would not have in XP with it. Heck, Vista repaired itself one day after an improper shutdown, that was interesting. Quote from: Zylstra on August 27, 2008, 02:04:30 AM Most people who dont want Vista havent actually tried it. Touche, but the difference is vista in impractical for professional users. Thats what people are complaining about. Its not compatible with hundreds of programs and appilcations. I dont think that in 3years people will be forthright with vista as with xp. Its just a totally different os.Same with 98 compared to XP? Or even 2000 for that matter. I am what you might call a professional computer user. I have found very few applications that didnt work with Vista. QBASIC programs still work with Vista, which, to me, thats all the support any program needs right there. Usually when a program wont work beyond a certain OS, its because the programmer built it for a specific operating system, not other operating systems. Believe it or not, Vista is actually a faster OS. The new architecture introduced in Vista is far superior to XP, and the data caching technologies (via Memory, not the hard drive, which explains why many systems are suspended at 50% RAM) increase the speed even more. Yes thats true, but you cant beat XP's reliability if your a professional user. Don't get me wrong i was the one who bought the first copy of vista sold practically. I enjoy using it for its interface qualitys.Oh.....The Mojave Experiment........ Personally, I don't care for the fancy graphics. In fact, I prefer the old Windows Classic theme than anything else. Much faster and clearer (for me)If i may express my opinion; I don't believe this is a question of..' you're EITHER with us or against us'. at the moment i've got three working laptops: The on i'm on at the moment has vista, great for casual use - easy on the eyes - plays most GAMES i can think of - the usual good points, plus it's never died more that i can handle so i've not really had any bad experiences with it. One laptop has XP, that's also not died more than i couldn't handle - but i use it for more practical things finances, spreadsheets, databases. to me it just feels more like a work computer than a home PC like vista does. and the third one has Mandriva Linux - For a couple of reasons, not least for the specs: 1.2Ghz single core CPU No HDD 512 RAM no mouse and more than it's fair share of knocks, bumps, drops etc. If you could get vista, or any other windows OS, to run on that i'd eat my own face. But i use this one for programming, mainly C++. To me it just feels more like a programmers OS. FBThe Mohave Experiment seems a little silly. It's only capturing people's initial reaction to a very limited exposure to Vista. Also, I viewed some of the clips and none of the subjects seemed to be what I'd call expert Windows users. Quote from: kizza1645 on August 27, 2008, 02:19:40 AM Touche, but the difference is vista in impractical for professional users.Hmm, you mean to say that, with FIVE versions to choose from, none of them are practical for "professional users"? That seems like nonsense. Quote from: kizza1645 on August 27, 2008, 02:19:40 AM Thats what people are complaining about. Its not compatible with hundreds of programs and appilcations.I don't know but I'm skeptical that it's still not compatible with hundreds of programs and appilcations. By now, haven't most major software developers released versions of their programs that run with Vista? Quote from: soybean on August 27, 2008, 07:24:56 AM By now, haven't most major software developers released versions of their programs that run with Vista? The COMPATIBILITY issues have vastly improved over the last year or so (not sure on exact timeframe...) but there are still a lot of programs & games which have issues. Quote from: soybean on August 27, 2008, 07:24:56 AM The Mohave Experiment seems a little silly. It's only capturing people's initial reaction to a very limited exposure to Vista. Also, I viewed some of the clips and none of the subjects seemed to be what I'd call expert Windows users. Well most people that I hear complain about Vista are Novice users. People that do know more about Vista and how it works may not like it that much at all, but there are defenitely more people like in the video in the world than expert users(unfortunately ) |

Solve : HOW TO UNINSTALL OPERATING SYSTEM FROM A DRIVE.? |
Answer» HI GUYS, HI GUYS, I don't understand, you want to uninstall Windows XP that it's INSTALLED in the C: drive, and you would like to INSTALL Windows Server 2003 on C: and then delete the W2k3 installed in D:? If is "YES" the answer about my question, you have to install everything again, it's simply, you could make it directly from the partition manager that is included on the Windows Server 2003 Installer CD. Why? Because the primary partition is C: and have Windows XP, and you have W2K3 installed on D: who is a secondary partition, and you couldn't transfer everything to C: because it will broke a lot of functions in the registry and OS kernel. You could manually format the D: partition from WXP and delete the boot menu interface, then you could reinstall only W2K3. caps in forums kinda suggests shouting. about your problem, simply format drive D as drmsucks mentioned, this will erase everything on D. friny, by boot menu interface, do you mean the windows BOOTLOADER? yea, you will want to erase the windows server boot entry from the boot loader. If you would like to "uninstall" xp, just format c drive, erasing everything on drive C. if you want to do so without any existing OS, just use a bootable drive format utility, such as acronis, or partition magic. |

Solve : THIS QUESTION IS SO REDICULOUS ONLY I WOULD ASK? |
Answer» SORRY I AM NEW, is this the list you search to find out if your question has been asked and if so do you go page to page (700+) of them. Windows NT is a family of operating systems produced by Microsoft, the FIRST version of which was released in July 1993. It was originally designed to be a powerful high-level-language-based, processor-independent, multiprocessing, multiuser operating system with features comparable to Unix. It was intended to complement consumer versions of Windows that were based on MS-DOS. NT was the first fully 32-bit version of Windows, whereas its consumer-oriented counterparts, Windows 3.1x and Windows 9x, were 16-bit/32-bit HYBRIDS. Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows Home Server, and Windows Server 2008 are based upon the Windows NT system, although they are not branded as Windows NT. So, in your case, you should always say, you have Windows XP. As for blue colored files, they are compressed files. Quote As for blue colored files, they are compressed files. thank you so much for you info. okay technology changes faster and a worm on a trojan virus. but what is the difference in the different models besides the date of manufacture, why so many NT's what makes them different. one fuel injected the other turbo. is it the language, i can understand the difference in computers being based on a different program such as dos. i can understand windows XP home addition may not have some software the XP professional would have but the versions? the term "server" is it a stand alone computer that is connected to other computers that is equipped with software to store files and such. can a server be in your office, or is a server the same as your internet provider. also the files that are blue are compressed because i believe they mutated. i have see where you can set the compression on C:\ i changed that after i read your response. also, the file OPTIONS i know how to set the compression. but it seems the mutated ones compress on their own. also when i changed the compression the disk space did not change. can you compress files you use OTHEN? i have the same files if you press my computer C drive there is files then if you press programs the same files why? does that not take up memory? the my document folder shortcut on my desktop is different than the one in document\settings\. when i install a program the program installs where it pleases some in the all user documents some in my documents, some in C:\, and some in C:\programs why? the shortcut files on my programs start some are yellow or have a nice picture and the others have a folder with icons {mostly the ACCESSORY folders. thank you so much for you time and effort many bytes of appreciation ruby |

Solve : WAN connection in windows server 2003? |
Answer» HELLO!Someone able to help me,setup WAN CONNECTION in windows server 2003 "RRAS wizard".Im Installed 2 Network Card, but i dont know how to configure. I have DSL Connection.do i need to install router also? Thank you. Hi, check FIRST if you have the following: 1) Wireless Router - where your DSL connected 2a) Wireless Network Interface Controller (WNIC) - connected on your Windows Server 2003 computer or 2b) Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) PCI Card - connected on your Windows Server 2003 computer 3) right driver for your wireless devices in 2a or 2bWAN != WLAN. Ok OP; so you've got a server with 2 NIC's yeah? One for the WAN Connection and one for the LAN Connection? How are you accessing the internet (i.e. ADSL through a modem/router)? If so, the modem will need to plug into the server somehow (normally there is an ethernet connection from the modem to the server). Are you wanting to just do internet connection sharing or are there applications and services that you are wanting to share between two different networks? Can you explain exactly what you are trying to do and what you are expecting the setup to look like?Thankyou!sorry but I still have problems. Here what i have I CONNET TO INTERNET WITH DSL MODEM .(NO ROUTER) FROM DSL MODEM I HAVE REGULAR SWITCH WITH 4 PORTS. 1 SERVER IP 10.10.10.2 MASK 255.0.0.0 DEF.GATEWAY 10.10.10.1 DNS 10.10.10.2 OK.THIS IS INSIDE MY NETWORK PRIVATE.NO INTERNET The question is : How to configure my second NIC IN SERVER TO OUTSIDE THE NETWORK.WHICH ADDRESS I HAVE TO SIGN?TO HAVE INTERNET CONNECTION. How To: Configure server client MACHINES with internet connection ... I HAVE 2 CLIENT MACHINE.JOINED TO DOMAIN ANY HELP PLEASE.THANK YOU. Can someone explain this me step by step?PLEASE/So is it like this: WWW - Modem - Switch - Sever? Here's my suggestion. Get yourself a wireless router. Plug your dsl modem into the internet port and your other devices into the other ports. There's no point in messing with internet connection sharing on windows if you don't have to and wireless routers make it super easy. Sure, windows has the capability built in, but there's a reason few people use it. If you're set on using it, here's the documentation for it on TechNet: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/network/bb545655Thank you so much guys! how to install RIS in windows server 2003 r2 please reply quickly................. Quickly... guys i was thinking when a scenario popped into my head-- heres the thing..... i got the following wirless router dsl modem switch server 2003 workstations ok.............. what i want to achieve i think is rather simple........ 1) I want to be able to share internet between all hosts within the network but im not sure of the network layout... i was thinking between the lines of pcs&workstations---> switch switch and server to the lan port of the wireless ............... then wan port of wireless to dsl modem...... 2)i want the workstations or any pc that is connected to receive ip from the dhcp server 03 and not from the wireless router meaning whenever hosts are connected to the wireless they receive ip from the Physical DHCP SERVER 2003 and not from the wireless router i was thinking maybe to turn off the dhcp on the wireless router and give it an ip that is within the same subnet............... any ideas/suggestionsPhone line <-> dsl modem <-> router <-> switch <-> workstations & server Shut off DHCP on your router, and make sure it's setup alright on your server with enough space to give the router a fixed IP in the same subnet. The server doesn't need to go directly to the router, but it's an option...essentially look at it from that point of view like you would a switch. Also, next time start a new thread. If you use Server for DNS with a Domain Controller, set up a forwarder to the DNS addresses of your WAN (internet connection). If you set up your modem connected to any computer directly with the network card set to DYNAMIC connection settings, you should be able to see the dns by oppening the connection and getting the Details. Then just plug modem into network card A on server or into router with static LAN address, set up DHCP on server and plug card B on server into network switch; make DHCP server call router or CARD A the router\gateway (using the Ip Address you get from Details), and link the dns name with forwarders as your domain name for DHCP. Then point the DNS server to Card B interface. This will have server DNS forward the lookups from the internet, and link your computers to your server with the suffix of your Domain name, while your Card A or router is set as the Gateway. If you have Static IP settings, you should have the IP Address of the gateway (Static ip address on internet, not default Gateway of your WAN), and you should also have your dns lookups. Use them similarly, but set your card a or router to have those settings first. Capiche? Further, If you don't know how to set up a forwarder in your DNS, see this link http://www.petri.co.il/install_and_configure_windows_2003_dns_server.htm and try to follow along. It will get to "Enable DNS Forwarding for Internet connections", and there you will find your answers. Follow through the whole thing to make sure you didn't miss anything. Good luck. |

Solve : Load test a server? |

Web transaction HANDLING? CPU performance? GPU performance? Network throughput? SQL serving? There are many test suites out there...Rob, I was looking for just tha basics....I/O CPU Network thoughput...etc. The idea was to have a general tool to test machines after they were setup. We are moving over to Hyper-V and will have a few differant setups, like web server and application server on one machine and then a SQL and internal web server on another. The machines are built and in production now. I used what I could find on the web like heavyload and the suggestions people made here. It worked out ok. How did I mess it up in the first place, for I can be sure not to do it again...lol If you have plugged your computer into another monitor before and forgot to set it back to the original settings, that could have caused the problem. Also if you ever installed a program like this: http://www.zoneos.com/zonescreen.htm which includes a virtual VGA driver and didn't adjust the settings appropriately... But don't worry, for its always good to EXPERIMENT, if you don't mess something up or run into something you want to solve you won't learn... |

Solve : 2008 server? |
Answer» This is a continuation of a problem I had in the hardware section about not enough space for TEMPORARY files. Per computer commando I converted my hard drive from dynamic to basic. When I try to install server 2008 and point to the D drive it tells me the partition doesn't meet Windows REQUIREMENTS. I have 215 gbytes of space. It is an empty partition. I don't understand why it doesn't meet the requirements. You aren't going to GET Server 2008 installed into a D: drive. What exactly are you trying to do? |

Solve : Active directory users access anonymously without any prompt? |
Answer» COMPUTERS under DOMAIN are able to access each other's computer without any password prompt through shared folders. All the users are having non-admin rights. I have also CHECKED credential manager for any stored password. I WANT every time if a system tries to access other's it should prompt for username/password. Nothing is working for me. Can anyone help me to resolve this issue.Sounds like all users are set up as local administrators on every machine - or worse, as domain administrators. Check group membership in AD.All the systems are under normal domain user group, no local or no domain admin accounts are there. How are the shared folders set up? Guest access allowed? My point is system is accessible whether shared folder is there or not. It should not be accessible by other system. When you browse to another computer, what shares do you see listed? None? Or some? All machines are showing.Yes, but when you browse to the machine, what SHARES are showing?Where I share data it shows and able to access the data, where I don't share there also its able to access the system but not the data.In that case, it's working as intended. You can't simultaneously hide the presence of the devices on the network AND make them available for password-based access. By "able to access the system" I presume you mean that you can "see" the computer, but not actually do anything else with it.I want this password-based access only. Could you please help me to do this.Quote from: Rob Pomeroy on March 29, 2012, 03:30:53 AM By "able to access the system" I presume you mean that you can "see" the computer, but not actually do anything else with it. Am I right?Ya, you are. Then you have password-based access. This is the way it's supposed to work. It is hard for a user to connect to a machine that is INVISIBLE on the network, with or without a password... |

Solve : Dell Power Edge 840 memory problem? |
Answer» I bought a Dell Power EDGE 840 from a friend of mine to use in my server class. It has 2 gig of ram but the computer properties says only 256 megabytes of ram is available. It has Windows XP Pro on which I want to get RID of. I want to put Windows Server 2008 on it but it won't let me because there is not enough ram available. I ran a MEMORY test with no errors. Is there anyway to get my computer to see all of the available ram. It has a Xeon processor.Occam's Razor states that the simplest solution is usually the best. I was about to THINK of stress-testing your CPU, moving your RAM around in different combinations, running in single CHANNEL and dual channel mode.... OS Install ModeHouston, We have a solution. |

Solve : Test Server? |

Answer» I made a virtual 2003 Server or 08 Server on my main machine that I use. Thing is that I'm installing AD,Intergrated DNS an setup a DHCP scope. Turned off DHCP on the Router an when I try joinin a client I get 23D3 as a stop code. I had no issues when I first setup the actual thing but, I done this too see where the issue is at.Good evening Ryuk and welcome BACK its the 86X verison. Microsofts Vitrual Machine. The server its self physically does. 0x000023D3 is the stop code. Its 2003 Standard R2Not sure why, I cant edit my posts but, this is the stop code. 232DThis should be good...Good evening Ryuk Sorry I didn't for get about you I have been thinking and searching. I am not trying to be a wise guy but I am assuming this is a typo 0x000232D3 because I am not finding a whole lot on this. Everything I can find is on 0x000023d3. Can you log into the SYSTEM get into the event log. The error mainly points to a memory error. Either from wrong size PAGE file (incorrect values) a virtual memory error with in the Virtual OS (from bad reg modification) and this is not mentioned but maybe there is a real physical memory issue. I have to find the other links but here is one http://support.microsoft.com/kb/325044 this is not a dead ringer but maybe this will help you find the problem. The odd part is only getting the error only when joining a PC to the server. I still will keep on digging too. All IP info is correctly set on router / PC's / server. Am I safe to assume the server is the only DC or is the server already joined into another domain. I hope this helps some, I am still thinking, Be back soon. Mike Quote from: hartbeatmr on August 03, 2012, 10:05:06 PM Good evening Ryuk I PMed you the actually error code an posted here too. 232D is the actual error I didnt recall right off. I set everything right, I'll check the router again though. This is currently, the only one that Im attempting to get working right know. I left deco on the router so it could issue the ip. I turned it off an still have the same issuecan someone help? I still havent been able to get this workingI think that I need to point the client to the Server an make sure that the SERVER is useing the loop back for DNSResolve the issues with the actual server it seem that I need to give the client the DNS number of the server and make sure that the server handle loopback as the DNS. I was able to successfully join them |

Solve : AD User's? |
Answer» When you CREATE a user in active directory an they sign on to the domain using a foreign machine. Does there DATA GET saved to the machine or to the Server including desktop settings?Supposedly you can use a roaming profile, where all data that can be saved on the server will be. (this excludes temporary files). In practice, I've never seen this ACTUALLY used. Our school uses a domain with Active Directory but profile settings are all saved to the local computer on login. |

Solve : Invisible server? |
Answer» I didn't have any issues with the server after I figured out what I was doing wrong. For some reason the clients can't see it an vice versa. My LAPTOP should be able too see them wireless an it's not. I restarted the server clients an router. The clients on the DOMAIN can see each other though. Can't ping the server. Changed the RJ45 to the server unplugged the cable to the router an rep lugged it. The server has to run to a hub which runs to the router where the clients are. The wireless just backs off the router to send the signal through the house. Server 2008 data center compaq EGO w4000 The last thing I want to do is reinstall though there isn't a lot on it Quote from: Ryuk on September 28, 2012, 05:08:02 AM Sorry, Im thinking of just doing a reinstall since it would be the fastest thing to do. ........and he wonders why members think he's a time waster.......No, it became the easiest thing since I really have no clue as far as Server netoworkingFine. Solve : Server issues? |
Answer» I have a COMPAQ ego w4000 setup as a DATA center server. I just reinstalled an CONFIGURED everything. I have ad an DNA running on it. Dhcp on the router which connects to a hub to the router. I have the client pointing to DNA on the server. I can't ping it am get 0x000005b4. When I try an rejoin themThis doesn't make any sense I can't see the router from a desktop unit but I can see it if I have a crossover cable plugged into my laptop. I can't ping the router from my desktop unit but I can ping it using my laptop. However in the server in the desktop in it can both see a connection out to the router. I try plugging the client back into the router which was originally TRYING to the server it can see the router. Quote from: Ryuk on September 29, 2012, 07:48:40 AM I have a compaq ego Commiserations. Quote from: Ryuk on September 29, 2012, 07:48:40 AM I have ... DNA running on it. From computer technician to genome project wizard in one bound. I'm guessing by the time you read this post, you will already have decided to reinstall everything? That don't make any sense. I all ready reinstalled everything. Stupid iPhone corrected Dns for DNA Quote from: Rob Pomeroy on October 01, 2012, 01:22:30 AM Commiserations. Sorry.
