So if you want to add your users to those groups via policy then the one you are looking for is called Restricted Groups. This will make sure they are put in the groups in the local pcs. It's under computer <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/config-929024" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about CONFIG">CONFIG</a>/windows sets/security sets/.<br/><br/>The other way is to create a domain group and then using the delegation wizard to give it the rights you want them to have. I've never had to mess with the security of a group but I added Authenticated Users with Full Control, nothing.I think you're supposed to used Remote & Network groups in the GPO that you want restricted. Then you add members such as GROUP1 or USER1 into it. In this situation you don't have to worry about THIS GROUP IS A MEMBER OF. That is just for more granular control of what group it should or shouldn't belong to. We don't really need this because we already are specifying the Network Config group and its members in the first tab. Not sure if I made sense or not. I know its not a computer problem if i log on to the computer with my account everything is updated and works like it should but log in with any of the troubled users accounts and they still look for the old server don't see any scripts running on their AD profile or anything. I am very lost. Then have them login again & see if it works. If it does then restore the files you saved earlier. I've seen this a few times and it's usually been a profile problem. Delete (or rename) the affected profile folder and the corresponding registry items for the user (HKLM\software\microsoft\windows nt\current version\profilelist\s-1-5-21-xxxxx), and try logging them in again.<br/>If that doesn't work, remove the pc from the domain and rejoin. Sometimes the hardware password needs to be reset manually for it to resync.Ok fixed this problem just in case anyone else ever has it here was the fix I cam up with.<br/><br/>1st I have no idea why half the computers did this but the easy fix was to log in to the users computer as the domain admin. go to the users folder and remove the users folder that is having the trouble. then go into Regedit and remove that user from the profilelist and restart the computer and log in as the user and there you go new GP's downloaded from the server and everything is fine. just make sure to back up all user files and anything else they want cause it will all be deleted when you do this. thanks for the help. The files are still there and reg. files say where the files are but the login is gone.There may be a filter in place. Burned a new cd with the same results. <br/><br/>I could simply switch the hard drives, but that seems a little defeatist to me. Our aim is to restrict users from accessing a fellow employee´s folder after they gained access to the root folder (All Employees) the respective user should only be able to access his folder.
