Solve : enable touchpad?

Answer» <html><body><p>I have an old Presario 1675 with W98SE.<br/>Mouse stopped working, known <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/good-1009017" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about GOOD">GOOD</a> replacement ditto. Touchpad had been disabled because of <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/earlier-963550" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about EARLIER">EARLIER</a> conflicts.<br/>Have tried all three options in FAQ - touchpad function not available in BIOS - successfully accessed autoexec.bat and config.sys but nowhere any mention of mouse/touchpad or pointing devices. Booting screen <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/shows-1206590" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about SHOWS">SHOWS</a> touchpad software is there - then a new line states "pointing device disabled". I seem to recall there is a file that lists all devices, fonts <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/languages-683" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about LANGUAGES">LANGUAGES</a> and everything else - thought it was win.ini but got an empty screen.<br/>Reboots bring up same message " please attach mouse... etc" Ad nauseum.<br/>Any additional <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/ideas-1035826" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about IDEAS">IDEAS</a> please?</p></body></html>
